  1. Some more pics from my Adirondack lease. That 10 in the night shot is the one I am after....
  2. This is a buck I caught on the same property last year, it was a main frame 10, with a small sticker. The recent is an 8, could it be the same deer? Heading down hill from age, or are we looking at a totally different deer. It's hard to say, but the faces do have similarities.......
  3. This guy showed up two nights the past month, both time between 3-4am. Already nocturnal, lucky me.....
  4. I shot a 9 pointer with a split brow, it was 110 inches....it's pretty damn close to those horns...my deer was 3.5 years old.
  5. My father lives in Vermont, his buddy was ratted out for hunting a food plot by a jealous hunter he booted off his land. The game wardens came, smacked his hand and told him it was illegal....
  6. I know in Vermont you can have food plots, but if you get caught hunting one, it's the same as hunting a bait pile. I don't own land unfortunately, so I will never get to manage land for QDM. I wish I could, but I have the children's's college funds to pay for. I don't need to hunt bait piles or food plots, I just thought the topic would get people talking...which it did. The disease issue is a big point...we don't need CWD infecting or herds.
  7. Why is it that baiting, salt licks are illegal, but food plots are not in New York. You can hunt over a food plot, isn't that sorta like baiting. Or am I reading the law wrong. I am all for food plots, don't get me wrong, it's good QDM, but it seems like baiting to me. What's everyone's thoughts?
  8. Hi everyone, I am just joining the site, I browsed over some forums here in the past, this seems like a good place to chat with fellow hunters and get some good information. I recently started hunting the Adirondack Mountains(I have been a farm hunter my whole life), it's difficult to pinpoint travel routes, patterns, etc....I know a lot of it has to do with food in the woods, but the woods are so vast, its hard to be on the right ridge at the right time. Anyone have any experience on big woods hunting? Are there any little things to look for? I have a couple trail cams set up and am getting a few good pics, but 99.9% of the time its after dark. Thanks.
  9. Put the picture into paint program on the computer, crop, zoom, and save. That seems to work the best for me.
  10. Thank you, and idea when the antlers pretty much done growing, I was hoping for 2-3 more weeks worth of growth, I am picking up the SD cards 8/4/13.
  11. I love my WGI cams, I get some blurred photos when the deer are moving at night, but the daytime photos are crystal clear. For the money, I think they rate pretty high.
  12. I am new to the site, this is my 1st post. These are some of my growing buck that have passed by my trailcam. These are the most recent, I have pics of them since early June. Its cool to see their growth. The last pic I zoomed in on, he was a bit further away, and there is an odd blob on the end of 1 of his beams. I have the cam set up on a triple intersection behind a thick old beaver pond. Any of these will be shooters for me.
