  2. yea i have shot well over a Doz blacktails.... its not even fair its like fishing with Dynamite.....I live on Whidbey Island and will go around an ask to shoot the deer in your yard... if i want meat ill do that if i want horns ill go in the woods and put in the time... they are All over.... in 2010 on Whidbey... 107 deer taged by hunters total... archery, modern, muzzy.... 350+ killed by vehicles alone just on the island.... there are ALOT.... and you only get one tag... you have to draw for a second deer tag... I get the combo tags... bear, Elk, Deer, and Cougar.... i get all 4 of these tags for $92 .... i dont need a second deer tag....
  3. i live in WA state, i hunt elk every year and very successful no outfitter nothing... you just have to research public land and Get some Timber Company permits and hike your ASS off or mountain bike it... OTC out of state licenses will run you little over $1000 bucks... thats including your tag... Not a huge fan of outfitters id rather take my luck and harvest on my own..... thats my 2 cents... if you want info on WA PM me.... or if your looking for a outfitter... BEARPAW Outfitters they do WA,UT,ID,
  4. Lived mostly my whole live in NY, but been fortunate to live in WA the last 9 years because this is where i have been stationed. Took this Rag horn 5X4 Elk.... this is our 5th elk in last 3 years. 60 yard shot in the bread basket ran an fell face first in a creek then pretty much drowned himself.... there was 4 of us that tried to drag him out he was well over 800LBS we only had to drag him 250 yards but we couldnt get him up the creek bed whole.... so we just cut him in half and took him out in 2 pieces....
  5. the Roosies are smaller then Rocky mount... but Bodies are little bigger
  6. ill let you all know... This is what i really enjoy about living out here in WA... when i go buy my tags, I buy.. My Deer(Blacktail) any deer buck or Doe, Elk tag( depending what unit i hunt can be a bull or cow but in my unit its 3 point min or better), Bear- any bear, and last tag is Cougar- any cougar.... have a bunch roaming around my hunting area.. Scary shit if you have never seen a cat that big!!, .. i buy all 4 of those tags for $106 dollars, and we start hunting Sept 1st, and dont stop still Dec 31st. Thats for Deer only, but they break up all the seasons, they have early season archery and late season archery, same with Elk... but only thing that sucks is you have to choose either Archery or Gun.. you cant hunt both with out specail draw permits... and you have to choose eaither Eastern WA or Western WA.. i hunt Western....But i will deff keep u all posted on how i do and if i get a bull.....or if any of my guys at camp take a bull... last year we took 2 4X4 rag horn bulls between 5 of us... i ended up with over 200lbs of meat in my freezer, and we butcher them our selves, have steaks, burger, back strap, Loins.. its best meat ive ever had... I grew up in Western NY (Varysburg to be Exact) so alls we had is cow or deer venison... if any yall interest in ever coming out to hunt id be glad to "guide" ya on a hunt...
