I shot a doe on the first day. after the shot my string was slightly derailed. found a knick on my cam. what happened is my cam hit the railing on my tree stand. I shoot a Hoyt Vector. Took it to the shop and everything was fine Didnt bend the cam Happy that Hoyt makes a strong bow. But anyhow mine was caused by user error.

I had a scrape 30 yds from my stand. sunday I noticed it was not in use much. I put a couple of drops of buck urine in it. Yesterday(Tuesday) it was all freshened up. Upon walking out of my stand around 11 I found 3 more scrapes. I have also seen allot of buck movement in this area. Cahsing and such. Now I put up a mock scrape with a dripper with dominate buck urine and doe estrous pee mixed 10 yards from the original scrape. I am not hunting that spot again until Sat and Sunday. Which will be 4 days later. Tuesday night I saw a 130 class buck come out in open field 150 yds from my stand at 4 pm. He was checking my scent drag that I used on the way in. I had two wicks on that drag. One doe estrous pee and the other dominate Buck urine. I just started using the estrous on Tues. I will let you know if it works? I dont know but willing to try anything once.

I Like venision in the freezer. With that being said I only shoot mature does. I will not shoot a immature buck. I feel their are enough does in my area to eat.I like to let the buck grow. Yesterday I let 2 small buck go by my stand and harvested a mature doe at the end of day. With bow hunting I feel I have a responsibility to practice qdma. I have grown with my hunting. When I was younger I used to focus on filling tags. As I have matured and educated myself I have learned that one large doe can take the place of 2 -3 fawn and leave deer in my area for years to come.

I saw a buck start last Tuesday chasing.

Cant get a deer if you are not in the woods. I was thinking the same thing then I thought what about all the whitetail hunters down south. It is hot down their and they still kill deer. Get in jthe woods every chance you can. A day afield is still a succesful hunt.
