  1. Trespasser I think we can rule out due to the fact a deer is feeding ten feet from them. It's either a spirt or a prank. I'm leaning towards prank with the stand looking thing.
  2. That's excellent advice. People loose all self control when the see a rack like that. Long Island is filled with trespassing scum.
  3. I'd bet the farm plus the tractor and my whole family that deer is not 2.5!
  4. That's awesome you found the sheds each year!
  5. Lol. Me too!! I was just happy to have the rack. If you look at my original post because of the location I said it might get hit by a car.
  6. I'll take some in a few. It's down in my basement lying on the workbench.
  7. Sorry for posting multiple times. It was found dead Halloween weekend. It was pretty blown up so I figure about a week before that.
  8. this reply is to confirm everyone's guess last year about this buck. I did not harvest this deer but it was hit and killed by a car so I did get the rack. It scored a gross rough score of 146" non-typical and 126 and change typical. You guys were pretty close!!

  11. Evidence is not needed they say it straight to your face. I have had so many guys tell me that if you want to kill big bucks hunt the last two weeks in September. These guys are not shamed to admit they hunt weeks before the opener, bait, trespass, seems like they are proud of it. I obtained legal permission from a land owner and talk to another guy who has hunted there for years, has cameras and just does whatever he wants. It's really upsetting. Pro sports is similar these days in order to be on the best you have to cheat. I hate it!!!!
  12. By serious I meant hunters who who kill lots big bucks by any means they want. Not serious about calling them serious, to me they are criminal law breakers.
  13. We'll said. I'm a little concerned I might not hear about a few nice deer I had patterned. They seemed to disappear.
  14. It's amazing how many guys here on Long Island totally disregard the hunting laws. Most of the "serious" hunters kill the biggest deer in September. This just aggravates me so much!! Not to mention the feeding and trespassing. Do you guys have similar experiences?
  15. I have shot deer with the old rage heads and the chisel tips. I did hit a big buck with the older ones never recovering because I believe the shot was a bit forward and hit shoulder. With that being said the chisel tip did great last year. I believe a good shot with any head will put any deer down. I like the rage because of the damage it causes and short amount of tracking. I also believe the chisel tip has an advantage over the old razor tip because with a less than perfect shot it has a better chance of penetrating bone. Opening in the quiver does not scare me at all because I always nock an arrow and make sure it clicks into the o ring well. Sometimes I do feel like the o rings get a bit mushy and don't grab properly, replace those worn out or old o rings and you shouldn't have a problem.
  16. Thanks for the replies I've actually seen bigger out here in Montauk. Surprised at how high you think he would score will probably live to get bigger if a car doesn't interfere or if he doesn't wind up on the state land during the rut.
  17. It is the same buck typo on original post. I was thinking high 120s but really have no idea. Looks a little on the young side.
  18. Scores would interest me on these guys.
  19. Thanks for the info/motivation. Good luck this week! Ill update using this thread if anything happens.
  20. Good advice! But the beers in the woodshed are so dam good!
