  1. if I keep this cow tag than im pretty sure id be staying at the eagle lake camp. the pics of it look amazing!!!
  2. wmd 3 but could change if I swap. outfitter said its a great unit and much easier hunting than 1 or 2. there will be plenty of pics!!!
  3. my cow tag is for Oct 28 - Nov 2 but if I swap for a bull it would be either Sept 23 - 28 or Oct 14 - 19. definitely going with a rifle. either my 30-06 or I might borrow my dads 300 win
  4. yea they seem pretty legit, might go ahead and book a bear hunt for next year while im there
  5. Got a tag for a cow moose in Maine but I'm putting in for the tag swap so hopefully can get a bull. Even I can't swap them I'm still super excited. Going with OMM outfitters. Gonna be an expensive trip but moose is my dream hunt. If all goes well then elk will be next on the list or maybe bear. Got really luck because this is only like the 3rd or 4th year I entered the lottery. im freakin pumped!!!!
  6. I like adding legs to my fan mounts. Decided to mount wings too with my bird from last year Sent from my SM-J327T using Tapatalk
  7. That's amazing, can't wait to see that mount! Sent from my SM-J327T using Tapatalk
  8. That's exactly what I plan on doing with the fan Sent from my SM-J327T using Tapatalk
  9. Heard a ton of gobbling on the roost but they flew down the opposite direction that I was hoping. Got up to take a leak around 8am and 4 jakes where entering the field I was set up on so I sat back down quickly. There was just enough of a hill that I couldn't see them from my chair til they were 30 yards away or so. Thought they would attack my full strut deke but they came to it very cautiously and hung up 20 yards from it. I knew I was gonna be busy this month and wouldn't get out too much this season so I let the closest one have it. If I do get to go out more this year I'll hold out for a long beard but I'm perfectly happy with what I got Sent from my SM-J327T using Tapatalk
  10. Agreed, that wall pedestal looks great!!!
  11. full strut with a jake fan plus a hen has been my go to for early season. usually switch to a lone hen later in the season
  12. if I ever get one hydro dipped, snow camo is definitely the way to go. looks awesome!!!
  13. yes you can put some dish soap in while it boils, works great. as for whitening, I can't help you there. I like the more natural look so I never tried whitening them. here's mine and my father in laws bucks from this year that I did
  14. those are the exact pieces of Sitka gear I've been eyeballing,(except for the vest because I already own a Milwaukee heated vest) now I might actually pull the trigger on some of this gear. now I have the whole off season to keep an eye on sale prices. my problem has always been sweating up a storm on my way to my stand and then having to sit in it. I sweat so much that no base layer could possibly wick it away. I usually strap my jacket to my backpack but have to wear my bibs on the way in because mine don't zip up enough to go over my boots. looks like the incinerator bibs can be rolled up and strapped just like the jacket and put on when I get to my stand right over heavy boots. seems like the perfect solution to my problem. thanks for the review!!!
  15. you make a good point about the really bright insert, that could be an issue
  16. even though the main goal of it is to use it as a rangefinder at full draw, that's not really what got me interested in it. its just having that open visual and not having deer blocked by pins. I feel like I focus too much on the pin and the target gets blurry. gonna try it with an open mind. might be a flop but it's worth a try
  17. anyone heard of or used this sight?? seems pretty interesting. think I might give it a shot
  18. should've let him grow another year! lol!!!
  19. this works with any roast from the back leg. cover with a good dry rub, then garlic butter with rosemary and thyme, wrap in bacon weave, sprinkle with chili powder, smoke at 225 until the internal temp hits 130 and let it rest 10-15 minutes. the low smoking temp makes the meat perfectly pink from edge to edge. and the bacon really soaks up the smoke!!!
  20. Right in the middle of an all day sit today, had a small doe come by real early and nothing since. Saw a huge 8 point Saturday afternoon from this stand, on the neighbors property of course. Hoping he decides to hang out on this side of the creek tonight Sent from my SM-J327T using Tapatalk
  21. Is it too late in the season for bucks to be fighting? Saw a small 6 pointer about 20 minutes ago and 10 minutes later heard what sounded like rattling. Sent from my SM-J327T using Tapatalk
  22. Father in law finally put one down, hasn't filled a tag in 5 years. 10am dropped in his tracks. so happy for him. now I won't feel so bad shooting a big ol buck down at his place
  23. First time checking this cam since 1st week of bow. Giant, 2 days ago. That's a moral booster! Sent from my SM-J327T using Tapatalk
