  1. Decent starting point : https://www.tomsguide.com/best-picks/best-laptops
  2. Yeah, this. Unless it's something specific a cheap Dell or something in that vein is a good option.
  3. Maybe next weekend they'll be shorter on hens. Nary a bird heard this morning. Not like I didn't have my chances this year. Might sneak over to the piece of public that's a few miles from my house sometime this week just for giggles.
  4. Well fudge. Gotta pack up in 10, nobody answering this morning.
  5. First spot was empty, I think the neighbor was ramming around on his quad last night. Just hiked a mile and set up on the food plot. Haven't heard a peep so far.
  6. Good thing it's a bath night, they were quite the mess afterwards.
  7. Here's the invincible (they're all invincible if I'm the shooter?) gobbler. Clipping my range finder to my bino harness, and not shooting unless I'm 100% certain it's within 30 yards.
  8. Going out again in the morning. Gonna try and get in on that big spooky SoB before first light, he roosted within 100 yards last 3 times I've been out. If I don't get him I'll go up to the food plot and wait it out til 8. Oh that reminds me I gotta get those pics off cam.
  9. Well-done Bill and Cynthia! Making some people on here (including me) look like amateur punks.
  10. These birds are henned up, hard. The miss earlier I had a hen putting at me from 15 feet away, getting ready to bust. As soon as she moved I took the shot at the gobbler. Evidently my depth perception sucks. First bird of the day gobbled on the roost, hit the ground and walked down the hill. Was fired up on the roost, 1 gobble from the ground.
  11. Swing and a miss #3. Had a buddy with me and he told me it was 50 yards, not 30. I think I see the problem now.
  12. Had one in my first truck. 1980 GMC cutstom deluxe, former county truck. 2 bench seats, slept 6 comfortably. God I loved that truck. Also great backseat when you're 17!
  13. Thanks fellas. Let's go smoke a bird as a 40 year old.
  14. I hear some scratching in the woods about 100 yards away from the cabin. Black flies are out.
  15. I've got 2 misses under my belt, but some action every morning. Keep the faith! Try tree calling em tonight that's what I'm about to do!
  16. That is solid info, thank you sir! Turnips in the blind plot this year, + something in a kill plot in the back. Next year...... We shall see.
  17. What do you need to plant a few acres of corn, GMan? In a field that hasn't been disced or plowed or fertilized in about 100 years. Nothing but hay.
  18. I love my tactical tater. Throw TP, water bottle in the back. Left side mesh pouch is perfect for light gloves + head mesh. I took the metal kick stand off it, too cumbersome. Typically I have bino harness (new piece of equipment this year and I love it), vest and at least 1 deek at all times. Still way lighter than deer season!
  19. Well, I kept the front sight from the first sights I ordered. Link is earlier in the thread. The rear sights worked really, really good. Only complaint is the Alan bolt that tightens the windage is insanely small and looks like it strips really easy. I tweaked mine 4 times and it wasn't gripping well at all anymore. Pic you can see it was just a smidge off at 20, first shot. I set the elevation up, and had it centered within 5 shots.
  20. Theresnnot much in the little plot adjacent, but the field below, which is upwind is 10 acres. I'd need to lime the everliving crap out of it though. Not sure that's a this year project.
  21. I built this last year. Not quite what you're going for, but my 70 year old dad likes it. Gonna get him a space heater this year for it. Gotta reinforce the stairs, realign the door, but otherwise she's held up really well over the winter. Now I just need to figure out what to plant in the plot below it......
  22. Feeling more confident now. Got 40 rounds of Winchester XX #5 from able Ammo, and tweaked it so it's little high at 20, and right in at 30. Not much drop from 30 to 40 either, still really good coverage. Pic is of 40 yards. I may have run out of cardboard recently.
  23. Nice, thanks dude. I ordered one. If they send us back to work in masks, I'll have order 4 more. Why buy something that won't be useful down the road?
  24. Almost certainly a Porcupine. For all the reasons GMan said.
  25. New Camo pattern is for mountain scrub terrain. https://www.kuiu.com/valocamo?trk_msg=3AKEU8CB7HP4VAR9POJRMSBQAG&trk_contact=L7OOA6U1F4P3NPQRP231O47HE0&trk_sid=E30A47R3IK6KIQH4R8G9FURAFS&utm_source=Listrak&utm_medium=Email&utm_term=preview-valo&utm_campaign=Early+Preview%3a+Valo+Camo+Arrives+Tomorrow Absolutely no complaints about the Verde so far.
