  1. Got my#Longbird shirt all laid out! Good luck in the morning fellas.
  2. I think I'll go out, Weatherman said the worst would be through, and I'll try the side of the hill out of the wind. If it sucks I'll come home and go to work.
  3. Deluge + high winds in the morning here. Looks like great weather after that though.
  4. I saw somebody post rtings.com reviews, those are pretty accurate for the most part. Is somebody playing video games on this TV? That's kind of biggy for input delay.
  5. Little sloppy but we got it done! Just grabbed some pressure treated I had laying around and slapped it together with some old window curtain hardware.
  6. G Man your skills and generosity are both prodigious. I appreciate all the advice! I think to get this plan in action I'm going to take that 2x4 rake I used last year, add a box to the top of it quick with some deck screws and lumber, then throw a few rocks in there. Need to get more serious teeth on the thing......
  7. I think I'm going to hand spread imperial whitetail clover, and seed spread oats on this plot. Got 90lbs of oats arriving Thursday, going to up there spread it and try and tree call some birds if it isn't too damn rainy. Need to get this vinyl flooring down in the kids bathroom today, reinstall the toilet, then I should be clear on the wife front!
  8. Oh that's in the other plot! Buried the disc there and had to pull it out with a chain. Probably won't plant that until late May!
  9. Should have seen the 5 gallon of hydraulic/ tranny fluid I drained from that poor old MF-65 diesel, looked like chocolate milk. Ugh. She seems happier now though!
  10. 6 to 8 foot? Want the grizzly to be able drag it. Thinking some 2x +woven wire would work? Would need a little weight though
  11. After much farting around, got new hydraulic lines and ram in on the tractor and a new 2 way ram in on the disc yesterday. After bogging down a bit in one plot, we decided to do about an acre in one of our dryer hay fields. So that's disced up and fertilized ahead of this rain. I've got 4 bags of WI Imperial Clover, but I was going to out that in the plot by the raised blind. Any thoughts? I really just want this new plant to feed the wildlife, it's not for hunting over. Something nutritional but could still do allright in a bit of dryer, well drained area?
  12. Later examination showed me I had put the rear site on slightly offset to the right. This is the longbeard XR #5 at 40. So I brought it home and tweaked the sight back to the middle. Gonna test again at 40 later this week. Was happy with that pattern from the cheap Winchester rounds though!
  13. Forgot my sharpie, first is generic Winchester 1 7/8 oz #5, second is longbeard XR #5. Both at 30. Added the Tru glo sights, I like em!
  14. Feels like easiest to kill a big gobbler in late season, but a subordinate in early. Best bet in early if they are henned up is to piss the hens off and make them come in and get a crack at the gobbler.
  15. Yup. The other gobblers judge the tom that breeds her pretty hard when he makes "fly down of shame" out of her tree in the morning.
  16. We've saved at least 5 weeks of daycare, probably 200 in gas, I know my wife is saving at least 50 a week on food. Eating better! I've had quiche 3 times in the past 2 weeks. My smoking is way down, can't smoke around the family. If I wasn't such an asshole I'd just quit.
  17. I'm gonna be in the same boat in the next year or two. I keep thinking if a couple different things come together, a 4 seat, electric side by side would be awesome.
  18. I can't do this with rifles, if it's not dial'd in just right I lose my sh~..sugar. I can accept it for my old Mossberg.
  19. Aim point will probably be 2 inches to the right, just outside the neck I guess. Don't know if I'll ever hang up my old girl I've had since I was 12.
  20. Agreed, not sure if that's me getting flinchy after a few shots, or just the pattern. On the #6 at 40 yards i made my aim point slightly right, where the little x is.
