  1. @catskillkid First thing I did. He said to contact the DEC. I did. They said the assessor has discretion. The assessor and ORPTS say otherwise.
  2. A little bit of insanity for you fellas! Unfortunately I am deemed essential, which seems hardly fair! First email : Good afternoon, In response to the public health emergency for the COVID-19 virus, the Governor has directed that all non-essential employees statewide to not report to work for the next two weeks beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2020 (see attached): Employees designated as essential must continue to report to work for their scheduled shifts as they normally would. At this time, non-essential employees shall work from home to the extent practicable. Where non-essential employees can be assigned to perform critical work outside of their normal state workplace, that is permitted. Employees will not have to charge accruals during this two-week period. Nothing in this directive shall prohibit agencies from recruiting volunteers or mandating staff to support the response efforts across the state for COVID-19. Non-essential employees are defined as anyone who does not need to be physically present to perform their job functions, or they are not required to meet the core function and programs of their agency during this emergency response. If you are not sure if you have been designated as non-essential, please contact your supervisor for clarification. Employees designated as non-essential are required to call their immediate supervisor no later than one hour prior to their regular start time, to ensure any change in status can be communicated. Second Email : We are currently creating a list of essential staff. If you are determined to be essential, you will receive additional instructions. Below is the standard guidance: Essential employees Must work either remotely or at their designated work location – if individuals do not have the access or ability to telecommute, they will need to report to the office If they can’t work (and aren’t quarantined) then they should charge accruals Non-essential employees If can work remotely and feel fine, they should work remotely. If they can’t work remotely, then they don’t need to charge accruals as they are non-essential. If you are willing to work remotely, but still need access, please report to the office to submit the necessary requests to telecommute
  3. For King Andrew's employees : I'll post the email we got in a bit, but non-essential employees told to telecommute if they can, if they can't, take a paid 2 week vacation. Essential employees told telecommute if they can do their jobs from home, if not come to work. Daycare is closed "until further notice" and public schools are closed for at least 2 weeks.
  4. You fellas are indeed luckynit wasn't a week later. Our banquet just got postponed. More time to go plant I guess?
  5. Back and forth with ORPTS a bunch. Long story short :. Theres no form to fill out for a late filing, there's nothing you can do at the grievance board. Not a damn thing can be done about it.
  6. Schools just closed here, seems like for at least 2 weeks.
  7. Schools just closed here, seems like for at least 2 weeks.
  8. Assessor: I'd be happy to reinstate you. IF. I have something from ORPTS saying that I am allowed to do so. I just so happen to work very closely with ORPTS in my ITS role at the state. Got a couple emails out, will let you guys know how it works out.
  9. So they sent out that email, preparing everybody to TC. Now they're telling us that it is "extremely unlikely" that state offices will close. But they won't put it in writing. Thank God King Andy is wearing a bomber jacket at his press conferences telling us all is well.
  10. Yeah we have a work commitment for this year, 3500 trees coming off this summer. We've been in it for 5? Years now.
  11. I should have been a bit more explanatory :. Theyll be making telecommuting mandatory for ITS soon. But if they shut down the daycare at state buildings along with the actual state workforce, those of us with kids will not be able to work anyway. I know alot of people abuse telecommuting, but you aren't supposed to be watching your kids while TC'ing. TC != Child care.
  12. NYS is preparing to send everybody home. Mandatory telecommuting is on its way. If they shut down the state run daycare we will be boned regardless. Good times!
  13. I must have been 17, because I was driving. Hunting a bunch of days in a row and I was frigging tired. Solo. Walked way out over the ridge, called a little, heard a gobble way off. Fell asleep in a bush flat on my back. Woke up to a big red head putting at me from 4 feet away. Went back to sleep after.
  14. @Splitear_Leland Yeah McClellan takes some time to grow in you, first book wasn't my favorite. I also recommend the Codex Alera by Jim Butcher, if you're enjoying Dresden. I've reread the Dresden files at least 3 times now. You seem to be going through some of the stuff I listed! Check out Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch. Just excellent. Probably the single best book on the list, though the rest of the series isn't as good. Anthony Ryan - Blood Song also great start to a good trilogy. I've heard some peoples complaints about the ending, but I thought he wrapped it up nicely.
  15. I "inherited" this stupid program with some land from my grandfather. This year between my brother being overseas and my ACL surgery, I missed the deadline on the annual commitment form by 3 days. I'm told the assessor has some discretion in cases like this, but wondering if anyone has experience with it.
  16. On a somewhat racist note : Indians (not native Americans) are awful about this. I also see them taking reams of paper towels into the crapper, when I come back later it's jammed with paper towels. What. The. Hell. The joys of working on an IT floor.
  17. Probably the coolest mount I've ever seen. Bad assed.
  18. People are crapping themselves up here, something going around that a guilderland family "may have been exposed" to the virus.
  19. Might I cordially recommend watching The Hunting Public spring turkey tour? Good show. They do an excellent job calling, and explain what they're doing usually.
  20. I buy snow camo, early spring. You're welcome, upstate NY.
  21. I haven't forgotten about that Quigley Ford. Wondering if I'll go all in on that 277 Sig Sauer bolt. My brain tells me "Wait a year dummy", every other part of me says "screw that".
  22. I don't know if I would go north, if you're looking for high turkey density. Albany / Greene / Schoharie counties have alot of public. Partridge run outside of Renslearville leaps to mind. Grampy knows that piece better than me.
