If it were easy it would be called turkey shooting not turkey hunting. If it were easy I would chose not to do it. You're right though , an occasional gobble to get the heart pumping and hands shaking makes it a little more fun

My daughter is 12 and very petite in stature (picture ballet thin) She shoots a youth 870 20 gauge. Only have shot low brass field loads on paper. she handles the gun very well and doesn't mind the kick. When it comes time for turkey next year I'll just stuff high brass in. Adrenalin going, never know the difference.

Couple of years ago the wife, then 9 year old daughter and I were driving thru Canada to Michigan . At customs the woman who was directing traffic waved us and a bunch of others into a another line. A Nexus line . When us and everyone realized it was too late. They told us to pull over for secondary inspection even when I explained to first inspection what happened, she acknowledged error and still made us pull over. At secondary inspection we were rudely greeted by some woman with an attitude and her hand on her handgun in holster. I was pizzed to be treated like a criminal with my family. She was a real biatch to us. 2 hours later we were on our way. I told my wife you better be the one to talk or I might say something I might regret.

Permithrin. Spray all your hunting clothes with it. It lasts for two weeks. I only had a little left so I sprayed all my daughters clothes with it . We also spray down with Off that's supposed to repel ticks as well. I'd hate for her to get lyme disease. Don't know if their are any ticks where we hunt but being cautious .

Re: decoys and seal the deal. Never be sure or overconfident with these birds. Had big boy on a string this morning , thinking oh cool, one bird down one to go. Yup , still 2 tags left.

After thinking I had him on a string for 15 minutes. Poof , gone. Been silent ever since. Guessing he was 150-175 yards out. Loved the racing heart, hands were shaking trying to call.

I choose D Why ban decoys or pop up blinds ? Anyone using pop ups are either not capable of sitting on the ground for a long period of time , hunting with their kids or a bow. All of which is a challenge in itself. Don't get no decoys either ?

I'll be out there again tomorrow for the 5th day of 7 available so far. Looks like a little cloud cover. Like someone else said, put your time in and can't shoot them from the couch
