Don't give up hope lol. My daughter went with me a few times when she was small and had fun but was never "into it" She is 19 now and wants to start hunting. She took and passed her class last fall. I was out of town working so she went all by herself and aced it. Actually I think she made some comments about they should make it harder as there were some not quite "all there" kids that were helped passed that she said she would not go in the woods near! Anyhow I am looking forward to a new partner on some hunts!

I usually like 3 minimum and up to 5 to get a good stock up. With my daughter off in college I go through more as every time she is home she takes a bunch of burger back to make venison tacos. She is only like 30 minutes away so that is like weekly lol!

I can definitely see where you are coming from. And I could have worded some of that better. But, and this may not relate in your case at all due to your occupation and i doubt you ever need venison!!, but if your searching for a certain buck of a standard and are ok going without a deer for the season that is a lot different than the way a lot of folks hunt. My goal number 1 is venison and if I don't put a couple deer in the freezer I have failed my goals. Now for me I pass quite a few bucks as I know I have the luxury of a lot of time in the woods. But after a certain point I will take what is offered. I have no issue taking does and if I saw the amount some of you do I could shoot all does. On my properties I see almost as many bucks as does. So we take a couple does and leave the rest to make multiple more eater bucks and does lol. Again to each there own, I just usually have a problem when folks start preaching that their way is the only and best way. And that is not solely about hunting but about most things in life.

All you old f'ers just need to get outa my way I got places to be!! lol just kidding!! I don't tailgate but man if you are doing 10-15 below the speed limit on a stupid winding unpassable road for 20-30 miles up north I get a bit pizzed lol. My peeves..... People who get in the left passing lane and stay there not passing. Those killer bright headlights on some new cars. People that pass you then slow down, if you made me take off my cruise you f'd up. I am a very aware driver and am always watching what is coming behind me and the flow so I can get in and out without slowing anyone down, Then you move over for a faster car to pass and they pigeon hole you. I don't drive below the speed limit much so when I get a tailgater bugging me I just see how slow I can possibly go lol.

I almost think it is becoming two different things A sport for some folks to go after the challenge of a big rack or for a few a 200 pounder, some for the glory and some for there own self measuring. And it is kind of a competition to these folks. And for others its not a sport but a way of life. More about the experience and the sustenance. If I could not eat it I pretty much would not hunt. I am not really into catch and release either. I fish for fish I like to eat and are fun to catch. I do not like my hunting to be referred to as a sport. I am not competing against anyone or recording a score like golf or bowling. I am not saying either is wrong. I don't understand the first as much because I am the second. But I am not against it except for the fact that the general public are pretty favorable for sustenance hunting not trophy hunting.

That would be the problem lol. While I have no faith in NYS government at all. Nor am I an alarmist commy in any way lol. But I will go on the record here as my belief is plastic will probably be what kills us all. Who know how many cancers it has already caused. Once we ruin the food chain and render the water supply useless shit will be a bit bleak. It most likely won't wipe me out but i'm sad for my kids and their future kids as we seem to keep kicking these cans down the road.

Yep I bought it. Broke it in tonight with venison steaks, see dinner thread. This weekend I will break in the smoker.

It is a Pit Boss combo. left top is a gas grill, right top is a charcoal grill and middle bottom is a smoker. It also has vents to route smoke through gas or charcoal side from smoke box.

My company has an imbalance between highly and not highly compensated which is why I got the check. Our FO was not on the ball on some stuff so I got hosed and returned. Hired a new CFO a few months ago so should be straight going forward. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
