    Been there done that! You are exactly right. I shot the big momma matrirch out behind the house 6-7 years ago. Man did that change the deer patterns.

    Just got back in. Gotta dry off the clothes, take a hot shower and chill before heading back out with my son this afternoon. The orange is pee, ive even seen blueish deer pee.

    Way to go silent death!! TF what is your temp out? We had -1 this morning!! New record low for Syracuse for the day at -2. Vagisil definetly states it does not work in sub zero temperatures!

    170 is a big mama doe!! I took one behind the house here about 7 years ago or so that was 160s and she was a BIG girl. She was leading a small herd. Bad part is she was obviously the matriarch doe and the deer back here completely changed their usual patterns after that. Tokk me a while to adjust after years of predictable movement.

    We are going through a similar thing right now. My wifes job will be ending here in a week after 25+ years due to the Time Warner Charter deal. She as well got a package of over a year of severance. The part that stings is the loss of really good family insurance, and pretty much free cable, phone, internet and security system for ages.That was a nice perk lol. My company has good insurance but it will cost me a lot more as my company is a pretty small.

    Did not get out Wednesday due to weather in the am and work in the pm, shame cause pm yesterday looked good. Thursday more crazy wind and cold so I'm still being a wuss!! The forcast looks like a disaster for the end of ML. Friday will be single digit but looks like the wind might be down so I think that is my next hunt. I'm sure I will get out this weekend. Saturday looks like a blizzard in the am then turning to rain and more wind......Monday and Tuesday may be the best days.......

    I usaully do a 15-16 pound rib for x-mas dinner for all the family. Sauted' green beens, smashed taters, au jus a good bread, some kind of salad. My wife will do up some appitizers beforehand as well. My sister, whom I'm concerned may be adopted, does not eat red meat so I usually make another dish like sea bass or salmon plank grilled for her and anyone else that may like something different. The family brings all kinds of pies and x=mas cookies. That is the plan for now. I was thinking of doing smoked turkey but cold and rain forcast is shelving that idea I think! I make deviled ribs for lunch the next day with the rib bones man I like those!! And make prime rib soup with some leftovers.

    Maybe he is drinking the PBR as an antifreeze and not as a refreshment!! That would explain it!! Or punishing himself maybe?

    Fed Ex and UPS have been here a ton the last few weeks. But I see a different driver every time. I wouldn't consider any of them a customer service industy. Now if you got a regular who goes the extra mile. Checks where you prefer packages put, the dogs like, gives you buck sighting tips....Hey spread the joy if it warms your heart!!

    I'd probably be not to worried on early morning and hit late morning - mid day. I would work the wind and get close to a bedding area. Deer will get up but probably not wander too far. Or still hunt. I looked at the weather and thought sleep in! I have to work so my choice is before or after work and small treestand locations and not looking forward to a 20+ mph wind! The ML season weather is looking pretty poor. Couple days of extreme low temps and high wind. Follow that up with a lot of rain over the weekend. Woohoo!!
