    Sad stuff for sure. If it was my area I would be booking a hotel out in the southwest corner of the state and hunting state land during the rut!

    10/4 am 58 Another day of dripping leaves and very quiet woods for the deer to sneak in. Sat for 2 hours in the far stand out back. Took forever to get light. I could not have shot anything before true sunrise. I did have 2 does sneak in behind me to about 40 yards. I did not see them until she saw me take a sip of coffee and blew. She settled down and the two just fed away to my right. She must have just caught a little movement and after that could not figure out what it was.

    10/3 pm 62 Out for the last 2 hours. Mostly calm and just felt like a good night. After an hour a reached out the snap a little branch in front of me and either the noise and/ or my move caused an unknown deer 15 yards to my side in the real thick stuff to jump.     I'll be out this afternoon. I've seen too many deer move when it is warmer than to think they all just stay in the A/C and wait for the cooler weather to move!! Its only 65 here, if it were not for the mosquitoes I'd rather sit in 65 than 15 lol.

    Walked into runnings Sat afternoon to get some dog treats. Figured I’d go see nothing in the ammo section. They actually had some 9mm! Grabbed a couple boxes. Still no 777 pellets. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    10/3 am 66 Down in the Hole in the outer stand. Had one small doe or button walk right down my trail and under me at 7:15am. Started sprinkling about 8 and I bugged out after 2.5 hours. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    10/1 am 48 Sat 2 hours in the glam ladder out back, No sightings.Sat 2 hours. Home sent pics of deer in the yard. 10/1 pm 65 Sat for 2 hours on the field edge stand. Dead as a door nail. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Condolences to you and your family. We lost my mom in February too soon as well. Keep her memories and lessons alive she sounds like she was a heck of a mom.

    I need to net trap one of your fat does to put over here and teach them to eat hickory nuts lol. I am out of likes as well so all you get a like, you just don't know it!! 2 more hours and ima back out in a tree.

    I hunt a spot loaded with hickory trees. You can't walk some years without stepping on nuts. I have never seen a deer eat one. I have heard a couple times they will eat them but .........not here.
