Just starting to think about hunting season, its coming on fast. I have not been doing anything for the past 3 weeks with a back injury. I did mow out all the trails out back to my stands and cleared some lanes. Have a bunch of bucks on cams. 2-3 of them are decent. The early season caught me by surprise. I hunt 8f but never get a doe tag because you can get the two extras later so I kinda screwed myself by getting doe tags early in my other zones. Not sure I want to deal with the mosquitoes anyway but with rifle its pretty much a guaranteed doe and would start the freezer off right of the bat.

I do some hunting in 8f so who knows. My issue is I do not go for 8f tags for my first 2 dmps as they are always on the leftover tag list and I grab 2 later. Now what?

I never understood the 30 minute prior/after debate. I am finally glad this ass backward state passed it. It is every hunters obligation to never shoot when conditions are unsafe. That includes too dark. I have hunted some swamps that are too dim to shoot safely way more than 30 minutes before dark. So I would not shoot. I have also hunted wide open country where it is still light as noon 30 minutes after sunset. Just because you can shoot at a legal time does not mean you can shoot in poor light where you cannot be sure it is safe. You shouldn't need the gobberment to tell you that!!

Canned venison is great. My grandma taught me how to can venison 40+ years ago.

I probably started "helping" when i was 10-12 years old. When my Grandpop and Uncle would be cutting up deer. I have done quite a few on my own. I'm slow lol and with the amount of deer I shoot that equates to a lot of hours. I have an exceptional butcher and at my rate per hour he is way cheaper. I imagine when I retire I will lean more towards doing them all myself but for now most go to the butcher. I do think every hunter should do a couple of their own though. The animal knowledge alone is worth it.

The land owner can not be sued if they let a club run the trail across their property Anybody can sue anybody. Whether they win or lose some times does not even matter as if you need to hire a lawyer to represent yourself you already lost money. It would be a hard no.

The few places I hunt, that I know of where oaks are, all drop their acorns before the season is barely going.

Do not use full ones for racing cones!!

They have money because it makes sense to them to let you spend your money not theirs lol. Also if your daughter is that well set up you do prenups. No doubt ever. Negligent not to. Do what you feel is right on what you spend and don't sweat it. Grudges and bad feelings are not worth it.

I think everyone above put what they think or what should be the case. This is NY truthfully we will never know........how it works cause most likely no one there does either......

No doubt the Chinese have most of it anyway. My fear is the Chinese behind the scenes using the Tali to target the US over seas and on our shores.

Blackhawk helicopters, night vision equipment, drones..... You really think their buddies the Chinese are not ecstatic and will more than absolutely help them learn, use and abuse these to take any US life possible anywhere?? This is an absolute cluster fuck. And while Biden is the worst president in my time, I can't believe everyone else with any sense involved in any of this and him should not all be fired for incompetency.

I agree we needed to be out of there. It is the advertising our steps to the enemy on how, when and so forth. Completely made a flipping disaster pulling out. We should have been fully prepared and no been blaring out our plans. I'm surprised Joe didn't get all of our allies there killed. Our intel on this sucked.
