So basically within hours this is law. Has anyone gone out to get some extra ammo today? I was planning on stocking up on some stuff but figured any law would have some time before it takes effect. This is intant! Now I am thinking of taking a long lunch. I just want to stock up on some 22, 30-30, 22 mag, 12 gauge stuff I use and do not feel like having to get backgrounded and extra charged for tomorrow. Anyone ammo shopping today? And any issues?

Rejoined today. I also sent out a lot of letters to my staff today. The Govenour, Senator, Assemblyman...... You know my staff even though they seem to not realize they work for me!! -
The Revenge is not made in the states. And the reviews did not seem as good.

Boy that brings back memories of really stupid stuff i did with my friends when I was a kid. Like aerosaul cans into the fire and haul a$$, the things we would burn, blow up and whatnot... only had the fire department out to the house once though by the time I was 10!!! Amazed we survived ...and we did not even were bike helmets!!

I have been looking at getting a new rifle and topping it with a Redfield Revolution 3-9x50. Made in USA, priced right, Leupold lifetime waranty and so far have read tons of great reviews on it. I would love to hear if any fellow members have one?

I tried Nockturnals and Lumenoks last year for the first time. Lumenoks were the better of the two for me.

The deal is why give them 30 bucks to have them spend 30 bucks sending me stuff. I want them to put our money to good use! The only constructive part of your response is you can call to stop the calls. Is that true and can you stop the mailings? More info on that would be great. Not calling others posts BS because you disagree with them! -

I was a member for many years and got so sick of all the calls and mailings I stopped my membership. I would join and give them the fee in a heartbeat because I feel they are one of the best to fight for our 2nd rights to continue if they would leave me alone afterword!! And the fee is less than a dinner or a round of drinks so it is not that, it is what they do with it. I got at least one letter a week at postal costs times 52 weeks they used my whole fee to send me letters??? rrr if they offered a do not bother me membership I will join tomorrow!! -
We put her at 2.5, she also had a 22 shell in her ass end that was healed over.

Here is my first racked buck. Shot in 1989 on public land. My grandfather, my moms dad, is on far left he was my mentor and the best man I ever met, he passed on many years ago. I would love to have a couple more hunts with him. The next is my father whom never hunted until his 20's and the guy on the left taught him to hunt as well when he married my mom. Then scruffy me and my uncle on the right. I can remember that day like it was yesterday!! That drag was a killer, I shot him 3/4 ways down a mountain and we had to drag him back over!

Both have deer. Ogdensburg is west enough of the dacks to have more deer friendly land and north enough so not too much snow like the tug hill. There is a lot of great fishing around too with Black Lake and the Indian River Lakes, I would love to have a camp and land around the Indian River Lakes!! Anyway the deer hunting is ok and Northern zone. Rochester area has way more deer but probably a lot more pressure and less big wood like up north, maybe some of the Rochester guys could elaborate on that. For a decision on just deer hunting I would say Rochester and it is an actual city so a lot more going on than Ogdensburg and probably better choices in schools and such. Guess it really matters what else counts in your decision.

Thanks for the input ADK, and good to hear on the recall. I had the TC on top untill the recalls. And I know Weatherby is always a good gun I have a couple buddies that will shoot nothing else. That Tikka is the best looking of the bunch to me, just visually I have never held it.

lol I am not a huge rifle nut, but i have a Marlin 30-30 lever and a Remington 7mm mag. I also have a 22 and a 22mag for varmints. I just want that fine rifle that is very well made, a sweet shooter but serviceable and something that will not make me cry when it gets some scratches and war marks. The Rem I got was a cheap model that I picked up when I had a couple hunts out west. It shoots well but is a bit much for whitetail at my range shots and a bit well cheaply made. I hunt hard and my equipment must as well so no $5000 hand made gun!! Like to stay around a k or less. At least for now.

Very cool! Share if you get more info!

I am in the same hunt! I am looking for that rifle I will use till I no longer hunt and hand down to my son. Primarily deer but maybe hogs down south, maybe even something bigger. I do have a cheaper Remington in 7mm mag that shoots well for big big stuff. I have come to the conclusion the 7-08 is the caliber I want. Some of my options: http://www.tikka.fi/...php?laminatedss This is leaning to the top of my list. http://www.tcarms.co...rms/venture.php I did have this gun up there but they had a huge recall issue on this gun and that does not make me feel warm and fuzzy. http://www.weatherby...guard_2/package Not sure about packages but thought this was a good deal. I have not made up my mind yet and am reading everyones opinions with interest. Thanks

I got a new adjustable chair for the tower blind. And my 10 year old son got me kits to make venison sticks and jerky!! I am pretty sure he expects me to share the finished product!! My bro got me three new game cams for the property, man the new ones are small. Less than half the size of my old one and twice the features. Also a couple Dicks cards. Evevryone was pretty spoiled around here this year. We musta been good!! The best part of the day was with all the family digging into that 15 pound prime rib I cooked. Man that was goo goo good!!

Whats your Favorite processing equipment?

I picked up a relatively cheap electric grinder last year to start making my own sausage. I did 40 pounds last time and had no issues at all. I even used it to stuff the casings. You can spend more but for a 1 to a few times a year use why? http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200451267_200451267 I will be picking up a stuffer this year so this may be a purchase soon. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200449319_200449319 Next item is good casings... http://www.makincasing.com/x/home.php I picked up some plastic tubs to mix meat and spices to set in fridge and already had a vacuum packer which is a must item for any hunter/fisherman. Then the number one tool the Weber Grill!! -
Best wishes on a speedy recovery! A fellow survivor.
