I grew up hunting the Dacks with my Grandpa. I was lucky to see a deer every few days and rifle hunted. Pop Blinds were not even thought of back then and tree stands were just starting. So getting bow close to a skittish Dack deer on the ground was rough. I started hunted southern-tier soon after and just the amount of deer and occurrences sped up the curve.

I'm headed to Erie at early o-thirty am. Hope to drop rental meet up with car around 11am and head back. I figure that puts me back by that way sometime around lunch lol. I'm stopping for sure. I've been looking at pics of your wings for too long!! The Cuse plays at noon, do they have ESPN out there in the West??

I think the hard part of bow hunting for me was not the shooting it was learning how to get deer close enough to shoot. I was self taught and had hunted gun since I was 12. Started bow early 20's. What a fricking learning experience lol!!

I can do the same not shoot my bow for months and pick it up and shoot a bull with first shot. Kinda kills the theory compounds are way harder than crossbows. Maybe just for some folks.......

My bow chrono'd 305 from the bow tester I bought it from. I figure with my longer arrows it is probably shooting 280 or so. So about 100fps faster than the bow I used 15 years ago and that bow killed deer too!

On what percentage of your hit deer do you achieve complete pass through?

I seem to get a lot of slightly quartering away shots that hit far shoulder or high leg bone after going through the lungs. Kinda hurts my pass through percentage. I've taken a couple dozen with the bow and honestly don't know how many pass through but I would guess half.
