  1. I don't see how he wasn't justified in pulling his cc. I also understand the cops had to intervene with him at that point also but he should not face any charges as far as i am concerned. I am not sure the use of force wouldn't have been justified had he started shooting. How many videos have we seen where men like him were brutally assaulted. And why weren't the people arrested for destroying his property and assaulting him??????
  2. Nice piece, i wonder how many others are making firearm purchases with their stimulus.....I hope you aren't the only one...
  3. Looks like they threw something on his windshield, smashed out his tail lights and broke the passenger side rear window. Then they squirted him with something and he pulled his gun. I hope the hell he doesn't receive any charges!
  4. Congrats Grampy. Sounds perfect for you and Mrs. Grampy....
  5. I have never really understood why attempted murder and murder are two different crimes. If you shoot at someone whether you kill them or not you are trying to murder them.
  6. I stopped in Franks on Saturday. Got two boxes of 9mm, Two Boxes of 12GA skeet and paid a ridiculous price for a box of 12GA 3" TSS.
  7. I get what you are saying. My answer to that is you aren't a scumbag. That's why. I have no idea where to buy crack or heroine etc. But i am pretty sure it is readily available if you know where to go.....I assume illegal guns are the same sort of deal.....
  8. My belief is that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed is pretty clear to me. The way i read it, any gun law is unconstitutional. The 2nd amendment doesn't say you have the right to own a hunting rifle or a shotgun. It was meant to allow us too defend ourselves from the government. So the way i read the 2nd amendment. I should have access to any weapon the military does. Now just because i believe that is what the 2nd amendment says. Doesn't mean i think that should happen. I really don't have an issue with background checks. Now a psych evaluation is leading down a slippery slope to me. Who decides if i am worthy? The Government does.....So if they look at my posts on here and see i am a conservative does that disqualify me? What is disqualifying? Is taking an anti anxiety med or anti depression med make you disqualified? Unless you are a criminal, you have the right to bear arms. This latest shooting, they guy was on the FBI watch list of some sort. Why wasn't that a red flag in the NICS check? Seems like a pretty easy thing to fix to me....
  9. Yea, i can't even find stuff to shoot skeet. I thought i had tons of ammo but i don't want to shoot any of it until i know i can replace it.....
  10. A friend of mine has a fairly big gravel driveway. After buying stone every spring for years a couple years ago he bought what i believe are called millings. I would have to find out where he got them. Its what they tear up from roads and driveways. It ends up packing together and becomes almost like a paved driveway with the heat of the summer an it being driven on. Obviously not nice like a pave job but it has bound together nicely and he hasn't messed with since. I have no idea what the cost was, i am sure it is more than stone but he thinks it was well worth it....

    Welcome to camp!
  12. This world is getting crazier and crazier....I know you just got your permit. Never say never. Nobody has to know you are carrying it but you. You never have to pull it out no matter the situation. That decision is yours and yours alone. But god forbid you are ever in a situation where it could save your life or that of your families and your pistol is at home in your safe. You can't go back in time and grab it....Thankfully that isn't a giant concern in good old Ballston spa. But working in the public like i do with a giant trailer park just up the street you realize how many heroine addicts and crack addicts there are in our little corner of the world. I find needles in our parking lot occasionally, someone just died of an overdose in the Price Chopper parking lot. Its scary the number of people that ask if we sell glass pipes (i don't and won't) Just something to think about since you got your permit....I am very thankful the State Police are across the street. I am sure that is deterrent to anyone that might be thinking of doing something stupid.
  13. I would have but it was lost in a boating accident. Should have caught me before last summer.....
  14. I would use my AR's as tools. I used to use my .223 for coyote and would use my AR 10 for deer. But since the stupid safe act they have become primarily dust collectors with the stupid uncomfortable stocks i have to have on them. I don't coyote hunt anymore and use my BAR for deer. Wish that could change!
  15. Hey my friend, you bring up some valid points so as a person that carries almost every single day I will say this. I have no idea what i would do in an active shooter situation. As you know i run a store. 90% of the time i am sitting in my little office with a direct view of the front door. There isn't a back door too escape from. I also go to the bank everyday carrying somewhere in the neighborhood of 5k in cash. Now if someone walks in and holds up my clerk while i am sitting here in my office. I am going to hope he gets the money and leaves. If someone walks in and shoots my clerk, i am stuck in an office with no place to really hide and maybe my little 380auto will save my life, maybe it won't but i will have a better chance of going home to my family with it than i would without it.....I hope i never ever have to find out and NOBODY that i work with knows that i carry......
  16. Rob, i totally understand what you are saying about the AR. In my mind the problem lies with people that don't own guns and hence don't know any better thinking the AR is a weapon of war. The media portrays it like it is a machine gun. Instead of what it actually is in most of our minds which is a terrific platform to build a rifle for any hunting or shooting you want to do. Long range, short range etc. My go too deer rifle is a Browning BAR in .308. IMO it is a beautiful gun that i am trying to keep beautiful. It is a semi auto with a detachable magazine. I also have a NY compliant AR 10 .308 with some 5 round magazines. I would love too carry that AR in the nasty weather or when we are doing deer drives and keep my beautiful Browning beautiful. Both rifles will do the exact same thing, they even have the same scopes on them. I don't carry the AR 10 because with the stupid stock i have to have on it. It isn't very comfortable to carry and has become primarily a bench gun. What is going to happen when people realize the only difference between a hunting rifle and a AR is the way they look? Why is my little Ruger 10/22 perfectly ok with the wooden stock but not ok with a pistol grip stock? It is the same exact firearm. That is why i am not ok at all with them limiting the AR or any assault rifle. It is an uneducated decision by people that don't know anything about firearms. IMO AR's are used more in shootings because it is the most popular gun in America. There are millions and millions of them. The whole thing is a slippery slope that i don't want to go down. Now what happens if you do educate these people and they realize that say the Ruger 10/22 is the same gun whether it has an evil looking plastic stock or a traditional wooden one? At what point do they realize any firearm can kill unarmed people quite easily???
  17. Thankfully i haven't been sore or too awful winded. But my lack of activity this winter really showed up on the scale.....Someone needs to make 0 calorie beer...lol
  18. Somehow i gained 20 lbs this winter. I was disgusted when i got on the scale. I have been taking my dog to the nature preserve every nice day and trying to do at least 3 miles and huffing it up the hills trying to make it real exercise. I don't walk on the trail so it is pretty much like hiking. I have been keeping my eye out for antler sheds. Have yet to find one...
  19. I have never been in a union so maybe i am talking out my rear end but to me they are completely outdated and only protect those that do the least. With Osha and every other government agency looking out for workers these days. There really isn't an unsafe work place anymore which is why unions were formed....
  20. Hope you stick around as a poster Eddie......I am sure moderating is a thankless job. I wouldn't want to do it.....
  21. Yea, i'm the same way......So i get that...
  22. Maybe we have gotten to the point where the majority don't pay taxes.
  23. If your every having a garage sale can I be an early shopper....lol
