Nice boat! Good luck with the sale! -
I only have 1 bow. I have had it probably 7 years. I have no intention of getting another one. I guess if it broke in early October I would go pick something cheap and swap everything over so I didn't miss any time. Hopefully I'll never have to worry about it.

I wasn't looking to get in a pointless shouting match. There isn't any point in that, I was generally curious as to your stance. I can't disagree that our president could and probably should be more presidential. But I also can't blame him for not changing who he is because he is the president. There is an argument on the other side that it works for him. It keeps our enemies guessing cause they have no idea what he will do. Especially countries like China, that while they aren't an outright enemy, they sure aren't our friends either. Biden to me is just more of the same establishment that will be easily controlled which is why IMO the democrats want him to win. The stuff with his son Hunter and China doesn't look very good either. Buttigieg I have less of an opinion on, but from what I have read, South Bend is in much worse shape since he became the mayor there. I obviously can't vote in the primary because I am a registered Republican but there is a chance one of these people becomes our next president so I do pay attention. As far as the stock market goes, it is falling because of the systems in place right now. All the big players are always leveraged to the hilt and now have to hit their margin calls much sooner than in the past to make sure they can make them which is now a government regulation. With the Corona Virus, people have stopped travel and we are a world economy so that effects the market. So when the market falls a little bit now and margin calls come do, these guys have to sell to make the margin call which leads to larger sell offs so others can make their margin call and it just tumbles. It is a two edged sword. Nobody should need a bail out if they follow these regulations, but the market is tumbling directly because of these regulations. This country is great because we can all have different views. I am always curious as to other point of views to see if it changes my way of thinking. It usually doesn't but I respect other peoples opinions. Especially if those opinions are what they feel is best for them....

Leland, This is a personal question so you don't have to answer if you don't want too. But I am curious as to who of the Democratic candidates you think will be better for you and your family than Donald Trump? After meeting you last night, you seem like a great, hardworking passionate guy with a family, a wife who is a vet etc. Basically you are an everyday American working middle class person, who obviously enjoys firearms and hunting. Before 2008 I had no idea how many democrats I knew and they are all exactly like you. Middle of the road hard working Americans. After Obama, unless they are lying to me which I don't see any reason why they would, they all held their nose and voted for Trump like Buckmaster did. I say I am a Conservative Republican but that isn't exactly accurate. I would say I am a fiscal conservative and socially liberal. I am probably closer to a Libertarian. I want the government to not spend more than it takes in, believe it takes in plenty and other than that the less they affect my life the better. I run the Sunoco Station on the corner of Rt 9 and Rt 67 along with the carwash. I don't own it but the owner basically leaves me alone and I deal with everything as if I owned it. I get to see everyday how taxes and over regulation effect small business. Not to mention the huge checks I have to dish out for sales tax, regular taxes, payroll taxes, fuel tax, unemployment etc. It is mind boggling how much this store and car wash pay in taxes. Not to mention all the regulatory Red tape I have to follow to keep in DEC and EPA guidelines. I just don't see anyway, any of these candidates could better myself or my families lives and a million ways it can hurt me. The debate seems like a bunch of people who are trying to out do each other on who is going to give away more free stuff, which will lead to higher taxes, who is going to be tougher on business, who is going to do more to ban firearms (obviously something near and dear to my heart). How is this all going to be paid for? I don't see any way other than on the backs of small business and the middle class. So I am really curious, how do you see any of these candidates affecting your life in a positive way. The only thing I see is having to pay more in taxes and having more of my freedoms and choices taken away. Here is a perfect example of a liberal policy I am dealing with right now. As of March 1st I can't give plastic bags out anymore. I can charge whatever I want for paper bags but I have to pay the State 5 cents for paper bags I sell. The law requires that I put single beers in a paper bag. The price of a single beer just went up 5 cents and I get nothing from it. What nobody can seem to answer either is, how am I required to track how many paper bags I have sold. Do I have to keep an inventory of paper bags like I do for tobacco products? How do I pay someone to do this or do I just add it to my plate? When do I make this payment, once a year, when I pay monthly sales tax? Nobody knows, they just made a law without any thought as to how it would affect the people that have to deal with it or what it would cost them. For no other reason than it makes the green people happy and they get to collect some money. If it wasn't a money grab they could easily make us bio degradable plastic bags like the ones I use to clean up after my dog.

A Little Ballston Spa Auction Action
ApexerER replied to Deleted Account's topic in General Chit Chat
It was great meeting you last night as well Leland. Although I am still baffled how a cowboy boot wearing, gun auction attendee can be a democrat, but I won't hold it against you....lol Next time I will be better prepared. I bid on a few things, but it goes fast so you don't have time to think about how much you are willing to spend. You need to go with the list, know what your interested in and how much you want to spend on that item and get in the bidding and stop when you reach what you want to spend. At least that will be my plan next time. I thought sure I won a Walter PPK .40 but got out bid at the last 2nd. I left with a cheap pellet gun for my daughter and a new friend...so it was a great night! -
Doesn't matter now with bail reform. He'll be right back out!

I'll bite. Now this being said, I don't pay a whole lot of attention to other Senators or out of State Governors so my familiarity with them isn't a lot. So there may be others more in line to may way of thinking but if there are, I am not aware of any of them. If I had to pick a Democrat to be our President it would be Senator Machin from West Virginia. I actually used to have a lot of respect for him because, IMO he used to vote with common sense and break from party lines when necessary. That respect has waned somewhat the last few years when I believe he has caved to Nance Pelosi and pressure from the Democratic party. But I think we could do worse than him and if he were president I would hope he would do what is right as opposed to following the way left leaning tendencies his party has become in the last 10-15 years. Had he run against Romney, I would have had to seriously think about who I voted for assuming I liked what he said, and he agenda when he was running. Since I live around the corner, when do you want to grab that beer so I can turn you red.....lol

I know where I would start. Allow us to get insurance across state lines so we have more than a choice or two for health care. I currently have 2. The unaffordable one I used to have and the one I got now. Allow our insurance companies to purchase drugs from anywhere. It is crazy you can order the same drug from Canada or Mexico for 1/3 the cost. Take 10% of what we pay for medicade and put it into pharmaceutical research and make any company that wants a piece of that money and develops a new drug to share that drug with other pharmacies so there isn't a monopoly on the drug before a generic can be made. Those are 3 easy steps that would go a long way in cutting cost while also limiting government interference.

90 and less all good. More than 90 is considered barbed.
-
Pretty sure it doesn't look barbed because of the angle it is sitting. If those blades come back even a little bit they aren't legal as far as I am aware because they are considered barbed.

My Uncle and Cousin always hunted just outside of Burlington. Its fairly flat in the Champlain Valley with lots of AG land. They always did quite well. I don't know if it is helpful to you because I would think on the NH side it would be more mountain area with the White Mountains. Probably like you said about the Adirondacks but Flat AG land wouldn't be too far off....

I will be watching this thread as well. I was looking at the Caldwell on Amazon. Its less than $100 and has good reviews.

The left say the support the second amendment because the have too. If they could get rid of it they would do it in a nano second. They can't take our guns but they can make it nearly impossible to purchase a gun, purchase ammo, make it so you can sue gun manufacturers so they go out of business, write laws that are impossible for gun manufacturers and ammo manufactures to implement. That is their way around the 2nd amendment and we are seeing it at the state level in a lot of states and we will see it at the federal level if the leftists take over all three levels of government.

I guess I will jump back in this. I actually had no idea how many people I knew were democrats until Obama was elected. It wasn't something I ever talked about with friends. Maybe occasionally with family. Now the Democrats that I know were more like Buckmaster and were like...whoa...what is going on here and we started having conversations about it. I just don't understand how, in this day and age, a hard working middle class American like what I assume most of us are on here could vote for any of these Democratic candidates. The days of the JFK or even Bill Clinton democratic party are gone. I am a conservative republican and I can admit that Clinton along with Newt did some good things even though I disagree a lot of what he did. Maybe if Senator Manchin was running but he isn't and even he has voted along party lines, I could see him getting elected as a middle of the road guy. The democratic party has gone so far left that candidates like Bernie Sanders and AOC are the loudest voices in the room. That is downright scary. They yell and scream for free college, free housing, free health care, enlightening the class from the bottom up. That isn't how the real world works, and who pays for it all, us dumbasses that go to work everyday. You can take 100% of the money from the rich every year and it doesn't even cover the deficit in our budget. I have never felt more screwed over by a president than I did by Obama. I had a great affordable healthcare plan that skyrocketed when Obama care went into effect. To the point my family had to switch to an 80/20 plan where I am responsible for 20% up to $12000 buck and it cost about the same as my HMO did previously. My daughter had to have ankle surgery this year, my out of pocket expense for that was over $5000 bucks. I am having some health issues as well and they can't figure out what exactly is wrong and I have stopped going to the doctor because I can't just keep racking up doctor bills while they guess. So as a hard working middle class family I have to worry about what I pay in health care and my health but anyone who doesn't work never has a care in the world because its all free. Add in the tax increases under Obama and all the policies I disagreed with and he is easily the worst President in my lifetime. I can just imagine how much worse it will get for us middle class Americans if we go to a President farther left than Obama most of these candidates are about as left as they come. The most centered person even the people from South Bend won't vote for their Mayor. They say he has made some new roads and added some coffee shops to downtown but they are literally afraid to go out at night. The way the young people in this country want Socialism and refuse to look at how socialism has failed time and time again has me very scared for my daughters future.
