Thanks for all the great idea's everyone....I am going to look into some of these for sure.....Funny all the stuff that was mentioned that Kayla and I have already done together. I hope she remembers all that when she is older....

Old forge is a great idea! We drove through there last year camping and she wanted to stop but people were waiting for us...I forgot about that... Neither one of us have ever even held a fly rod......We would need a guide for sure...Hopefully the two of us will get out camping this summer. I'll have to google something like that...

We ride bikes at the battle field once or twice a year. Its a really nice place. My mom and dad always take her and my nephew up to the Adirondack museum. I have never been..... Have you been to that wild museum in Amsterdam? I have driven past it several times but have never been. It always looks run down to me.

Do you have a recommendation for Tubing? A friend of mine took her kids tubing last summer and regretted it. She said everyone was drinking and smoking weed. It wasn't really a kid friendly atmosphere according to her. I think that was up outside of Warrensburg. I would like to do that with her but it needs to be a family friendly environment if I am taking my daughter...

We have been to Adirondack extreme...I think I am still sore...lol That place is really cool. I would love some ideas on High Peaks hikes. I am sure my daughter could do any of them no problem but I am not 14 years old...lol so if they are too extreme they probably wouldn't be the best for me....We have done several hikes together...I have always looked up the easier ones..not too worried about distance as much as vertical. My knees have a hard time coming down steep terrain.

We have been to the Science Museum, Childrens Museum and Aquarium....All those places are great!! My daughter doesn't have the appreciation for history at the moment that she should. I guess that stuff was boring to me as well when I was 14. Hopefully she will grow into it because we have a ton of historical stuff like that not far away....

That sounds like something I would enjoy...Not sure my daughter would have the appreciation for it right now that it would deserve....its something I will keep in mind for myself for sure....Thank you

I am going to see if there is a day she would like to do this.....I really like the horseback idea....Thanks....!

Both great places.....we have been to both....thanks for the ideas....!

Congrats!!! Now you just need to work on your own little bugger.....

100% Agree with Grampys response to this.....It isn't baseball but my daughter moved from a club level travel soccer team to a premier level travel team this year. The difference is night and day. My daughter was ready to quit playing soccer, something she has been doing and working hard at since she was 5 years old because half the kids were doing it for something to do, not paying attention and not working to get better. My daughter would only pass to certain girls because she knew if she passed to others even if they were wide open they wouldn't be able to do anything with the ball. Since my daughter has been involved with this new team she has a renewed love for the game. She has two coaches that played at the D1 level in college and a team full of kids that are every bit into soccer as much as she is. The team is doing amazingly well and is currently tied for first place in the Eastern League playing teams from Rochester, Long Island, Vermont, Mass, and CT. It is time consuming and expensive but you don't deal with any of the crap you are complaining about....

I have seen some posts in the past regarding youth soccer so I know some of you guys/gals have kids in it. Is anyone going to Burlington for the Nordic Cup this weekend? My daughter Kayla and I will be heading out tomorrow for the weekend. Hoping her team does well. Should be some great competition with some of the best teams in the east playing in the Premier bracket. This is her first year moving to a "select program" and the team is pretty great to watch. They are currently tied for first with a team from Rochester, Dynamo FC and when we played them it was a battle and nobody scored. It ended in a tie. In this EDP League She has played teams from Long Island, CT and as far west as Rochester in this league. It has been a lot of time and travel this spring but I love it. I won't know what to do with myself when she is grown up and we aren't doing stuff like this together anymore. She is in the U14 age bracket.

I would love to do something like this with her....Did you call a range and set that up? I have had my daughter behind the .22 once or twice but it isn't something we do regularly.

I agree, that show is so ridiculous I can't watch it....I wouldn't mind watching a show like that that wasn't so ridiculous. Survivor Man bigfoot was intriguing to me....He has had some things that make you go hmmm happen to him but didn't make up a bunch of BS.

Did the bobsled ride with my daughter last fall. Your right, its a rip....actually scared me a little...I don't like not being in control. My daughter always wants to go to Lake George but between the arcades and mini golf ect I spend a small fortune in a couple hours. Last year we went parasailing which was cool but expensive. Horse back riding has never occurred to me....Great Idea, I will look into that....

Thanks Grampy….Been to Thatcher Park many times.....And you are right! It is a great place....We usually go once a summer and do just that....
-
I'll have to google them...Never heard of either one.....Thanks!
-
Like other have said, give it a try.....worst that can happen is it won't work...no harm no foul....

I have a boat and access to Kayaks....Is that a point A to point B paddle?

Great post Moog, I am stealing it for the other side of the state but will be following this for stuff farther away.....
-
Saw Moogs post about day trip ideas. Great post but I live on the opposite side of the State. I live in Saratoga....If anyone has any great ideas for a day trip with my 14 year old daughter and I to do this summer, I am all ears....Anything to get her off her phone and outside.

Stop and look it over really good....Maybe that will make your decision easy one way or the other. Maybe there will be something that tells you to walk away or something that tells you, you have to make it happen. Either way the decision will be easier....If you go look and you are somewhere in the middle and it gets sold, then you won't be feeling as bad about it either. The decision will be made for you...

I always start with a jar of Ragu but then I add my own stuff to it like hamburger and sausage, sometimes some garlic peppers and onions. Makes for a quick meal that doesn't taste like I just dumped a jar of sauce on some pasta....

I get that....easy to say...harder to do.... You don't want to be kicking yourself though cause you needed to wait a couple of weeks....

Freaks of Four Seasons.

I missed this thread last year....Really cool, Thank you for sharing. I don't understand from your posts what the market is for you. Are you selling to hunters on ranches to introduce great bloodlines? I guess what I am asking is what is someone purchasing these deer intending to do with them?
