  1. hi all. i was scouting my property and i found a spot which i think will be great for this upcoming bow season. its a natural funnel that sits next to a marsh/wet area. i had a stand about 75 yrds away last season and i saw many deer move by. there is a great tree for a stand in the spot however it is right in the middle of several deer trails. i want to set up just off the trails to avoid being busted. their is a tree in a good location however it is thinner than most trees that i have stands on. i would say 12-15 in around. would this be strong enough for me in a 15ft ladder stand? thanks!!
  2. do you think ladder stands are high enough for bow hunting? most stands i see are 15-18 feet. when im in my climber, im up at 20 feet. i would love to leave a ladder in the woods instead of luggin my climber on my back to my spots...what do you all think?
  3. i was looking at the raingear shells as well but i was worried about them not breathing too. sometimes when i wear other raingear it keeps everything in and i end up drenched in sweat...and thats not good. ill look at some of the fleeces
  4. For the past 2 years...i have been wearing my cold weather/waterproof/heavy/hooded jacket when I bow hunt. I know that scent and maneuverability and 2 keys factors in success so im thinking a light weight outer jacket would be a better option. im thinking a lightweight, non-hooded, shell would be a better option. what do you guys wear as an outer layer?
  5. Ok, at least its Camo i wear a "fanny pac"...actually its a waist pack with 4 big compartments-and i keep all my supplies in it. it all stays right in my lap as i sit in my stand. all my buddies give me hell for it but 2 years ago, i got busted by a great buck when i reached for one of my calls in my backpack that was hanging on the tree. im not gonna make that mistake again...fanny packs all the way!!!
  6. WNY-i am not saying everyone here is doing it, in fact i bet most people are not. im am just stating an opinion that i have, on things that i have noticed. i understand that guys set up cams on food plots, along trails...and yes i know that deer graze as they move. but when i see a pic of several racks with their snouts down in the same spot of dirt/leaves it just makes me think...
  7. ok call me crazy, but i have a hard time believing that some of these pics in this section are done without bait. im not talking about food plots either. it seems that every pic i see is of one or several deer in the same area, most time with heads down in the same spot. i figure i will get slammed for this but im just stating what a lot of other people are thinking...anybody have any opinions?
