Hi guys and gals! Been lurking on here for a short while and decided it would be cool to contribute and chat with a great group like this.
I live in Blooming Grove, NY in Orange County and recently got into hunting. I have fished my whole life, enjoy trap and skeet shooting, live for the outdoors, but never got out hunting. I have gone out with a buddy of mine a few times and totally caught the bug. Can't wait for turkey season to get out there. I own a few acres and behind my property is hundreds of acres owned by a neighbor who has given me the ok to hunt the land. Having private land to hunt is a huge bonus in this crowded area of the county.
I plan on using my Mossberg Maverick 88 to start with but plan on picking up a rifle at some point. The mossy does double duty as a HD gun with a 18.5" barrel and as a target / hunting gun with its 28" mod choked barrel.
