Why does every thread about coyotes turn into a raging war? There is a season for coyotes, so if a hunter wants to kill them so be it. Reasons do not matter. We buy our tags every year, with those tags comes the legal right to hunt anything we want that is legal and has a season. For people to keep harassing or bashing coyote hunters is just getting carried away around this site. Let people hunt what they choose to hunt and let it go! Anyway.................Back on topic now....... I am thinking Mr VJP meant this thread about how some are saying our coyotes are a hybrid and being called a coywolf.

Hope you heel up fast Doc. I also hope you run out of dynamite to throw in threads. LOL
-
Spray it with good UV killer, brush it in and you should be fine.
-
This one may have settled down without this stick of dynamite.

Congrats! She's nice one. Glad it played out.

Congrats!

+1. I am just not always a people person. I thought for a while on this one. Maybe not all have dealt with this but........ You start a new job, make "friends" with other hunters. You talk, get together for beers at the local watering hole and make plans. Then when it's time to get out scouting and finding places to set up everyone always had something else to do. So you go out, you scout for a few months, you set up areas to sit on the ground or use a tree stand, and mark them on maps. Then you make copies of those maps and give them to your "friends/hunting buddies". Opening day they don't seem to have anything going on. You get to the spot and give them the best spots. One gets a big deer, you help drag it out, and then notta. Not even one frikin tiny steak or some ground for my time and effort? Then they wonder why you won't hunt with them any more.

The part I feel bad about was driving down 147 into Glenville at 30 mph with my flashers on, my g/f behind me, then like 6 cars and trucks behind her probably cussing me out.

Never drove on gravel or a dirt road, but when I lived in Rochester for 3 years I had a "plague" of flat tires every month or two. Brand new tires and they always seem to get holes in them that void the warranty, holes right at the rim. Without going into the whole BS story ( I knew who was doing it, dude upstairs ), I got tired of it. I drove for three months on a donut. One morning I go out for work and low and behold, a nail in the side of the tire at the rim. The idiot used a grip nail and couldn't get it out. Had it towed and bought 2 new tires. When the x-g/f said she needed more money cause her DB x-hubby didn't make his support payment I said "No can do. when your x-daddy in law stops f****** up my tires I might have more money!". Funny how the next flat I got was when I said I was leaving Rottenchester. Almost 3 years later. LOL

You keep you dog in a bag? -
https://x-stand.com/product/x-blind/ LOL Anyone using one of these? There's a review on youtube and it doesn't look like you can really make those poles on the sides very stable in wind. I wouldn't use them. I would tie off to trees so I wasn't kicking the pole every time I got in. But dang! If the windows zippered I could put my cot and a propane heater in there and spend a weekend.

That stinks Elmo. Driving on a donut for long periods of time isn't fun, and especially not on dirt or gravel roads

Nice buck congrats. I looked at the pick in the harvest thread as the pic above looks like you just wrapped some antlers in a tarp. LOL

He's usually good with turnaround. Same or next day. Last fall when I needed him to locate and evap leak it took them time. Smoking didn't show a leak, so they went from tip to tail which took time. He replaced a few of the studs when he did my breaks. That's why he said he will restt and lock-tite them. He backs his work. So most likely the only thing I will pay for is the inspection. He's gonna have it anyway so may as well go ahead and get it done. I was going to use the g/f critter ( that's what I call it ) and go for afternoon evening, until she said she was going shopping. POOF! That idea is gone. She was willing to take me up and drop me off but not come back and get me until tomorrow. My buddy lives in an apartment in his parents house, not real comfy having a sleep over at my age. LOL. If it was warmer at night I would put the quad on and camped out tonight. It's all good, if nothing else I will go look a new area over in the AM tomorrow and hope the rain isn't heavy. I am only missing two days of actual deer hunting. I can't sweat it too much, $h1t happens.

So who's headin out with their XBOW in the morning..
DirtTime replied to sits in trees's topic in CrossBow Hunting
Gotta check the regs almost daily these days. You never know what whim popped up over night. Next will be you cannot hunt from 11am to 1pm to give the deer a lunch break. -
He said he will do a full check, and lock-tite the studs. I don't think it's the wheel bearing. No more noise, just the shimmy, and only when turning. I think the balance is def. off now. I trust him he's a good mechanic. He just has a habit of keeping my truck for weeks on end. LOL I was only doing about 50mph when it happened. I don't even want to know what it was like on the 400. Been on the 4 and the 5, people are nuts on those.

Corn and Apples in front of my Stand....what else?
DirtTime replied to ApexerER's topic in Deer Hunting
I was kidding. I have heard this from many people over the years. Can't say if works or not, have never tried it personally. I have seen horses and bulls chase women at that 'sensitive time' though. -
Can't find it in the news. There's on that sounds like it, but the report has the time wrong by and hour and on the wrong side, they have it going west. If it's the right report and made typing or w/e errors then it left 2 people dead.

Ever have one of those days? I just did and the day is only half over. First I over slept so was late heading out. Driving up north I break a knoll and my truck start's shaking and making a funny thumping noise. I figure flat tire and pull over. Nope. I drive another 200 yards and it's worse. WTF!?? I pull into a lot and look again, check under the hood all is fine. Call my buddy tell him I am heading back home something wrong with my truck. Now it's even worse so I pull into the Dug Out lot and park. Now at least I know where the noise was coming from so I check the front drivers side wheel, yup, it's loose. ALL 5 lugs were loose. Not knowing the full extent I call the g/f let her know where I am and to meet me as I will most likely need a tow. Call roadside assistance. They get there jack up the truck, tighten the lugs, and can't see anything else wrong. I drive it a few laps in the lot and it seems OK, so I "thank" him and the g/f follows me home. Over 40mph it seems to have a shimmy now. Get home call my mechanic and let him know what's up and ask if maybe when he did the brakes a few weeks ago he may have broke something or not fully torqued the lugs. He's cool about it, and says it's possible, that he usually drives the vehicle for a few miles and re-torques but he may have forgotten. Mistakes happen so I understand. But man, it would have really sucked if the wheel had just shot off. I think that was the most nerv racking drive home I have ever made. So no wheels for a week as he can't get me in until next Saturday.

I have seen a few in the morning while turkey hunting. Opening day gun NZ I didn't see anything in the morning sit. I had to come home and landowner jumped one around 2pm near where I was in the morning. Tonight around 6:15pm on the way to inlaws, we counted 15 eating on the side of I90. It was pretty dark and hard to really see what they were, except for one, nice buck hoping around with what I assume to be 4 does.

Ditto. That's a big gun. -
Hey don't beat yourself up about it. We can't control the weather, and most of the time Mother Nature isn't on our side. I did a couple solo camping trips when I was younger, I didn't like it much. Too much time with myself isn't healthy for me. LOL
