  1. In my opinion, there seems to be cliques on this site due to personal friendships off site that a few times have made me wonder why I bother here anymore. Now I'm not saying that's all bad.... What I guess I'm getting at is that some people get hammered for doing something by others on here, then a "clique" member gets almost nothing but support from fellow "clique" members for doing something similar. I've gotten more used to it but there has been a few times where I've also considered signing out and not returning. This site doesn't seem the same as when I started either. I feel like it should be more hunting/fishing/outdoor activities based and less odd ball off topic BS threads. If I owned the site, no more politics, no more random "I went for a walk today posts," no more mention of supporting/condoning illegal hunting activities etc... There are a few d bags on here, some real bullshitters, some egotistical A holes, some real nutjobs, some who just want to hear themselves speak, but all in all most seem pretty like minded and enjoyable. There's a few members that get the reputation as d bags because they speak their true thoughts on topics, whereas a lot of others who may also agree will stay silent due to fear of upsetting their fellow "clique" buddies. Some members only respond the way that they think everyone else will agree, for the cudos and atta boys. There's a wide variety here for sure. All in, the reason I am still here is that I like tuning in for hunting season to hear/share stories from around the state. I could also see one day where I just delete the app from my phone and move on also... Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  2. Today's finds. Not the ones I was looking for but I'll take them. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  3. Looks like a walleye bred with a snake! The ocean is wild. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  4. Haha, I'm not sure what he's doing, could be rolling on something, or slipped on some black ice! Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  5. Looks like an otter to me. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  6. Walked for 5 hours today in my best spots, no luck. Saw a pile of deer, so either they've figured me out and are burying them now or are still wearing them... It's early, I'll hit it again in a month. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  7. Me too, the food and atmosphere were too notch. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  8. The whole topic of which is easier is brought on by simple propaganda to push a narrative. The narrative being full inclusion. Let's not pretend that each of us is not smart enough to see through that. The kid shooting 1" groups at 50 yds just starting out is purely BS or one in a million odds. The staunch opponents to logic are the same ones that are pushing full inclusion, you do the math. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  9. Is his name Levi Morgan by chance?? Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  10. I'm sure a few ducks are harmed there every year, don't see how it can't happen from time to time. I kayaked to the wooded area they sit in a few springs ago on the lake. It smelled horrid, there were thousands of half eaten shad carcasses littering the ground from the winter. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  11. 75 mph on that thing must feel like 150! Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  12. If you time it right in the spring there are thousands upon thousands of sea ducks in there, clouds of them. I had my camera out there a few springs ago, it was awesome. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  13. How much of an increased danger is it to pedestrians/runners etc? I wouldn't think being hit by a 5,000 lb truck or a 9,000 lb truck would matter much. (Rant: nothing raises my blood pressure quicker than a spandex wearing tour de France wannabe riding on the white line poised to get taken out by a tow mirror, that I have to wait for traffic to open in the oncoming lane to move around them....) 14. I had an 835, didn't like it at all. After duck hunting my cheek bone would be sore from shooting, never felt like it shouldered well. I also bought one box of 3.5" shells, never bought another, didn't see a bit of difference worth the extra recoil/cost. My SX3 takes 3.5 also, still don't ever see the need, unless maybe shooting buckshot for coyotes. To each their own, most of the turkeys I've killed have been 25yds and under, a 3.5" is unnecessary to me. I could probably kill birds just as well with 2 3/4" too. 15. Lemon Grass restaurant in Syracuse is really good if you're looking for something a bit fancier than the typical restaurant. It's really good food. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  16. Bring on spring! I'd rather be in a boat than on ice any day. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  17. You jigging or tip ups or both? How is the size of Lakers you typically see up there? Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  18. I can only speak for myself but it's my curiosity that warrants aging. I "need" to know when I shoot a big buck, I even have a doe jaw in the freezer still that I need to send out that appears to be very old. Other "nice" bucks that I've killed I can guess within a year of age with relative certainty, so I'm less curious. The same with fish for me, I don't weigh or measure unless it's well above average for me and I'm curious, I've never weighed a steelhead and I've caught a lot of them, even one real big fish. I weigh every deer though, again, out of curiosity and sizing reference. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  19. Good lord man, you target 3.5's now because of brain volume!? So brain volume equates to intelligence now? I can point out some really stupid humans with big brain volume... Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  20. I've had my XDS 45 for probably 6-7 years now, I love it. Only perceived negative is limited capacity, if that worries someone, it's not a huge deal to me. Surprisingly it shoots really well, a lot tamer than you'd think and perfect size for carry in my opinion. I've got the 45 compact also, more capacity, but now it's a bulkier gun. That's typically my woods walking gun as I'm not worried about concealment there. I've got the SA 1911 "Loaded" A1 stainless in 45 also, beauty of a gun but she rarely comes out of the safe. Come to think of it maybe I am a Springfield guy... Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  21. I just switched jobs this week, went from driving 4 miles round trip to about 30, and the 2500's aren't known for fuel savings! I was going to sell my motorcycle in the spring but I think I'll keep it to drive to work in the summer now, even though I might get ran over going into Syracuse... 22. Very cool! Great friend! Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  23. In my opinion there's 2 types of fisherman now, those who will never again fish without a sonar flasher and those who haven't tried one yet... Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  24. Is the flyer left of bottom right part of that group?? Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
  25. I use my camera only when shallow bluegill fishing on ice, otherwise it's just more work than it's worth for me. Plus getting a fish tangled up in the cable and losing it when fishing deep sucks. I prefer a vexilar for 95% of fishing, camera beats it with gills/crappies, the gills will suck in a bait and spit it without you ever knowing it. With the camera you pop them as soon as they take the bait in, no waiting for rod tip movement. Sent from my moto g fast using Tapatalk
