  1. First bow of the season was a pretty one, so clean. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  2. That my friends is 100% a grey fox! They're very cat like in appearance. Fishers have a wider/broader head and more full/muscular bodies with short ears. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  3. That would certainly be the way to go if I were truly interested. Maybe in a few years when the fad dies down a bit the price will drop too. I'm not cheap by any means (I just paid $600 for a rod and reel) but $700-$1000 for some ropes and a harness seems pretty high. I hunt out of my climber 90% of the time and quite honestly love it, so it's going to take something truly eye opening to get me out of it. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  4. My buddy likes to pretend he's going on a photo shoot for Cabela's every time he hunts so I'm sure he'll end up in a saddle. I'd like to watch the ease and process in person and Try it for myself, because honestly, it looks like a PITA and nowhere near as comfortable as a climber. I'd like updated reports on saddles when the weather gets super cold and snowy also. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  5. But what does your complete harness and all gear weigh is what he was asking. Not just your sticks. (Ropes and all) Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  6. I agree that bullets don't knock animals off of their feet. But it is energy after all that puts that bullet/arrow through the deer. It's been proven that high velocity deer rounds put deer down quicker when all things are equal. Now you could argue that it's tissue damage, but after all what caused the tissue damage? The projectile and energy. People die every day from blunt force trauma much lower than energy depicted in say a car accident (baseball bats, golf clubs, hammers). So to say energy does not kill, In my opinion is not true at all. This isn't the thread to start a discussion on this I suppose, but it's an interesting topic nonetheless. 7. They say energy doesn't kill but I've seen quite a few dropped by cars! Energy absolutely kills them, now what is most important is up for speculation. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  8. Good info, I'm trying out a 6.8 this year also. Haven't decided on a projectile yet as I haven't accuracy tested them yet but it looks like it'll work just fine. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  9. Same here, a few years ago I shot a doe opening night, wasn't sure where the hit was so decided to wait a bit. Well it started pouring shortly after. I decided just to wait til the morning and do a body search. The next morning it was still pouring, I looked for an hour or so through a bunch of thick stuff. I expanded out to the more open woods and I almost stepped on a leg, separated from the body, it was the entire front shoulder with a piece of hide hanging from it. I looked and looked and never did find the rest of the body. It does not take them long. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  10. NAP Spitfire Maxx is the best I've ever used. Haven't had a critter get out of sight yet. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  11. Few more, nasty conditions yesterday afternoon but still managed 30. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  12. It's just the fur around those coke can bases he's sporting! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  13. Got out for a quick hour last night on Oneida, found some perch and an eye. Weather dependent, we might go back out better prepared for perch fishing this afternoon. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  14. I'm not going to post his pictures of the deer, it's not my place to post his face or deer but it's a beautiful 8 point. Here's the scar and piece of carbon! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  15. My buddy just killed a nice 8pt, while looking at him he noticed a scar high on the shoulder. Last year he shot a buck on the same trail, same stand, hit was high, never found it. Well when gutting him sure enough he found a 6" piece of arrow still in him! Crazy story. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  16. My best stand anywhere is 75 yds from the road and open, the deer don't care! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  17. I thought you were going for a back up measurement in case the chest girth measurement wasn't possible. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  18. He thought you had more decency perhaps! Haha Side note: How do deer taste that have been raised on bird seed and peonies? Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  19. Made some hot venison sausage this morning, I didn't add pork, the wife and I prefer it lean. Added 3 Hungarian Wax peppers from the garden, hot pepper flakes, onion, sausage seasoning. Fried up a couple sample pieces. It passed the test! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  20. No kidding! I can buy a new rifle every fall with my savings! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  21. The last of yesterday's doe going into the freezer. If the OP is still following you can do all of this at home with a couple hundred dollar initial investment. It'll pay for itself after the first 2-3 deer. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  22. That's absolutely what I'm planning for the next few weeks! With low water and elbow to elbow salmon snaggers we'll have to get creative but we should find some steelhead, rainbows and browns. I just got a new centerpin setup that's aching to get some river time! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  23. True! Although I felt like I used up that time on stand credits last year with my biggest buck to date! I'm fortunate to have both of them and I don't take it for granted. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  24. I didn't put a tape on them but they were more than a handful of that helps! Seems spot on for his 155 lb dressed weight. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
