Not sure, he didn't mention it in the talk radio blurb he did on it. I just listened to it actually, apparently the locals nicknamed him "Zeus". The guy who found it said he'd been seeing him for several years under his apple trees and he estimated he was at least 5 or 6+. My buddy who is neighbors with the guy on one side has pictures at least 3 years back also. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

Nothing would surprise me, I'm sure more people knew about it than they realize too, if it was a shady act that ended up killing him I'm glad the scum never got to put their hands on him. I'll admit, the "unknown" is sometimes the worst part. The woods will feel lonelier for my buddy this fall for sure... Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

The people that own the property don't hunt or allow hunting, I guess they never examined the carcass for any signs of being shot or anything. It wasn't really a field but a real thick brushy area they were clearing with a brushhog I'm assuming. They'd have found him a lot sooner if it was a field probably. Long story short. I have a buddy that lives in Michigan, he has access to a lot of hunting land and they do really well managing it for deer. He has killed some great bucks but never a true "giant." A couple of years ago now he got some pics of a phenomenal 2yr old (what he thought was 2) that deer would show up and disappear, show back up etc. This went on for 3 more seasons, my buddy and his neighbor who have a large chunk between them had both gotten pictures but neither had ever laid eyes on the deer. They kept their mouths shut so word wouldn't spread. Last spring my buddy found one side of his rack while shed hunting but could never find the other. That summer he showed back up larger than ever and hung around into deer season then vanished mid season which wasn't overly uncommon for this deer but oddly enough was never seen again. Noone reported killing a giant so he feared the worst. Recently he got word that the neighbors who don't hunt or allow hunting found a huge buck dead in one of their fields while brushhogging. It was him. The deer he lost sleep over for years, the deer he let other 130"+ deer walk for. I guess it's sort of poetic, a deer of giant proportions, all wild, no fences, seemingly dies of "old age." That's probably the way that deer would've wanted to go. Noone will ever have the satisfaction of walking up to him after pulling a trigger. The buck rough scored 214." Here's a few pics. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

I'd love to hunt Africa, except for giraffe, elephants, probably even the big cats, I just don't have the desire to kill them, I'm not against it in any way, just don't think it's for me. They just don't do anything for me in the hunting realm of things. I'd love to shoot them with my DSLR though. Goats are also at the bottom of the hunting barrel for me. Not to steal your thunder but last weekend a scumbag backed into my parked motorcycle, stood it back up, threw the mirror into the grass and took off. The worst part is I know who it was. The cops called him and miraculously he's out of town with the company van he hit me with so the officer couldn't pay him a visit. He called him and he denies it. So I'm screwed basically. The shop insurance estimate is $3400. People really can be shit... Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

I don't doubt with tweaking he can get better groups, I'm not disagreeing fully with you, AR's are capable of phenomenal accuracy. I'm just saying you have a better chance of finding a bolt gun off the shelf for $800 that'll shoot SUB MOA than an AR for $800 hands down in my experience. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

I agree, I've seen and shot a lot including my own and most don't shoot Sub MOA. If you're looking only for sub MOA a bolt gun is often cheaper and easier to achieve it with. I've bought a couple of bolt guns off the shelf and with the right load they will shoot Sub MOA in basically stock form. Can AR's shoot that accurately? Absolutely. Is it as commonplace as bolt guns? I don't think so... Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

Fishing on the big O was tough for us today, water was like glass and bright sun. Got 2 skippers, dumped one. Beautiful sunrise though! Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

Does it even matter what that deer scored? It's a phenomenal deer by anyone's standard, except maybe a deer farmer I suppose... Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

So you take the deer from one pen to another, one is a "farm" fence, the other is a "hunting" fence?? I'm not clueless at all actually, albeit I'm am clueless to the reason why you think everyone is so jealous of high fence hunting? If that's your thing so so be it, I don't like it, but I'm not calling you out for that. It's the "my wall is full of 170" bucks, but I'm not going to show you." "You guys are just jealous because I'm living the dream and you aren't." If it's your dream life then good for you, don't assume it's mine. And the picture of the dead buck doesn't even show you in it? Moog asked you how many of your wall of deer came free range, you won't even answer that!? So now I'm supposed to believe, A) that's in fact your kill, this deer was free range? I shoot 2" groups with my bow too at 150yds, but I'm not showing anyone, just trust me... I'm not looking to get into anything that hasn't already been clearly shown but... You are throwing a lot of tar around and have absolutely nothing to back it up and then act like people are jealous of you...? I know for a fact that I'm not jealous of what you have in the slightest. You could give me a free hunt at your place and I'd turn it down, no joke. You can't come onto a public forum and claim everything you have said without any pics to verify it and expect people to believe you. You're always preaching big buck this and big buck that come hunting season yet you shoot your deer in a fence? Noone would knock you for your business, it's all of the other BS that is putting you in the proverbial frying pan. Noone is buying it man. You could have 40 170" deer on your wall from a fenced hunt and it wouldn't impress me in the slightest, one 140" free range buck would. You talk a big game, but that's all you do is talk... No I've never fished Rainbow lake, we always did better in the pond than on Kushuqua for some reason... Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

You're the first person I've ever heard of that's also fished it, growing up we would camp there every summer for a week, I fished the pond and the lake A LOT. I landed several northerns in the low to mid 30's, as well as a few largies that pushed 6 lbs. I love that place, it's been a few years since I've touched that water, god I need to get back, if nothing more than for nostalgic reasons. Very cool man, post up some pics so I can live vicariously through you! Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

Went out with my brother today to scout for an upcoming charter, took a buddy out, browns weren't playing but found some Kings and Lakers that did. Lakers were 11 and 13lb. The 13lb Laker took the line out of my brothers hands as he was peeling it off to hook in the downrigger clip, 180ft and that fish was probably 10' under the surface right behind the boat!
