Oh my Lord, get a life dude, your ass is still chapped about being wrong before? I would think it below a moderator to stalk someone and pick out petty BS trying to prove his manhood. And for the record bass season is open for catch and release... Once again you have no idea what you're talking about. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

I got right in to 50 yds from the whole flock of birds, I got them to gobble once just as the sky was breaking, and they gobbled once on their own 10 minutes later. I watched them all in the trees until they flew down, could not get them to gobble again. They would strut but not a peep, and there were at least 3 bearded birds there. Really odd, nice crisp sunny morning with multiple gobblers and they won't talk. It's not nearly as fun when they're silent... Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

Birds weren't too talkative today, a few gobbles, birds flew right down to me, strutted a bit then I decided to fill a tag. 5" beard. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

Hit Oswego today, lost a brown, caught some smallies, including one giant, and saw a musky laying in some still water, he didn't want to play though. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

Agreed, meat Hunter or horn hunter, a large racked buck will get anyone excited. If there were 10 does in a field and 1 large racked buck, I'm quite certain which deer is getting plugged by everyone on this site (if legal obviously). Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

You won't see many crotch horns on the cover of deer and deer hunting either, I agree though, it is somewhat natural to want "more." Hell, most women even want bigger racks! Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

I look at turkey hunting like bow hunting, while it's imperative to know your maximum range, that shouldn't be anyone's goal, turkey hunting is a game of how close, not how far to me. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

Who knows? Who cares honestly? How many people hunt deer to protect their crops? The point is generally speaking we are out there shooting deer for venison, but somewhere in all of us we want a big rack because that's what celebrity shows and magazines and social media puts the emphasis on so naturally we are drawn to it. Let's say all 5% do it for the reason you mentioned, how many % of hunters complain about a "low" deer and turkey population yet do not partake in any effort to control predators? Exponentially more, why? Because there's not as much of a social media trophy for a coyote as there is a big buck. So to conclude, id say most of us do it for meat, but secretly we all would love to tag a big chunk of bone along the way. That's my opinion anyhow... Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

I think your spot on. Coyotes are inedible trophies and I bet only about 5% of hunters target them, so it seems the "edible" part is a major factor and arguably the primary. I wonder if coyotes grew antlers if the percentage would change at all.... Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

It'd make a hell of a backscratcher! (And creep people out in the process...) Good work! Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

Decided to take my luck to a stream, landed 8 browns and a brookie this afternoon. Here's a few of the better ones. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

A day of firsts! I bought a Fly rod a few months back to use in the rivers for trout, I decided to take it out today to practice casting and figure out how to use the thing. About 30 minutes in I noticed a fish feeding heavy on the surface, I was fishing the Seneca river in baldwinsville which is just a big wide river that connects 3 bodies of water (not a trout stream). I tied on one of the streamers that I tied and after about 10 minutes of working that area the fish took the streamer. I fought it in and as it got closer I wasn't sure what the hell it was!? I landed it and I thought I was going crazy, it looked like an Atlantic Salmon!? I texted a few pictures to my Buddy who is a DEC officer, he confirmed it, Atlantic Salmon! First fish on a fly rod and first Atlantic Salmon! It was 19" long. They're extremely rare to catch around here so I was pumped. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

I eat 3 deer per year so meat is my main priority, that being said I am picky on what I shoot, I will not shoot a Fawn and most of the time will not kill a 1.5yr old buck. I hunt public land and do pretty well but it's an hour drive both ways and it's not easy sometimes. You guys that have easy access to killing your "meat" deer should be grateful, it's something some people have to work a lot harder for. As far as antlers go, I LOVE antlers, they've always fascinated me, I usually try to get 2 adult does down then focus almost entirely on bucks. Which is more important to me? The meat, but I do love meat with big antlers attached also. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

Iceland? I'm not sure if there's validity to that or a snarky comment on UV based bright lures? I can tell you they work here for sure, trout eat a lot more than people realize, much more predatory than some would think, especially browns. Steelhead love the brights at times too, time and place for everything. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

My suggestion is to go on eBay and buy a cheap vise kit, I got my starter set for $30, it comes with all of the necessary tools that make tying much easier, then you can upgrade when ready. I actually see no reason to upgrade yet, I spend my money on tying materials as you'll probably find yourself with a ton of different things. Also, don't overlook craft stores, you'd be surprised how cheap you can get Marabou, biots, beads, embroidery thread etc. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

A few of the boxes I have inside right now, they're mostly steelhead geared but the jigs are multipurpose, as are the streamers, the nymphs will work on any trout for the most part. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

10 hours on one fly!? I've gotten into fly tying in the past year also, mainly streamers, jigs, nymphs and a couple of scuds. I don't spend too long on each one because quite honestly, the fly is more for the fisherman than the fish I think... Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

Well, since you're trying to research my illegal activities to propogate your own shortcomings... That steelhead trout (rainbow trout) was caught in the Salmon River in Altmar, NY where the trout season is open year round for trout species and the legal creel limit is 1 steelhead over 21". A minor bit of research would've helped you not make a fool of yourself once again. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

You are right. I told myself I wouldn't get sucked back in but the double standards really piss me off. You can poach this, but not that because I like that. You can kill things out of season if you have a reason. You can light coyote pups on fire if you think they're overpopulated. Let's all be afraid of nature and kill anything that comes near us. Let's have a site where poaching is encouraged by many members and a few moderators. There are some awesome people on this site, then there are some real #$&@bags. Carry on, I'm done with this topic. You can't be charged for comments made on the internet huh? You're wrong. Maybe read slower, you don't need to kill anything to be charged. But I assume you'll stick your head in the sand some more because God forbid you admit what he did was illegal. If I shoot at a deer in the summer but miss it, I can't be charged? Because I didn't kill anything? Playing stupid after the fact won't help you. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

He posted online that his intentions were to kill coyotes, which he verified that he knew were coyotes, by poison, out of season. He then proceeded to attempt to kill said coyotes with a poison smoke bomb. He even made the remarks that he will gladly pay the fines associated with his actions all the more admitting guilt. I think you should look into the wildlife laws a bit more. You don't need to kill anything to be charged. Ever hear of "illegal take"? It essentially involves every aspect of the "hunt" the methods used, the pursuit, etc and is not hinged even slightly on whether you killed anything. He knew exactly what he was doing, what he was attempting to accomplish and came here, to this site, for strangers blessings to carry on with his poaching, which, sadly is endorsed by you and many others... Why is it so hard for you guys just to admit he was attempting to poach? Because you don't like the title? Because you fear the label? Because if you justify it in your own head it makes it ok?
