  1. hey guys im in heaven, bought 2 boston butts 7lbs and 4 lbs. I had a total of 8 lbs after i removed the bones[ saved them for sunday gravy and pasta fazool] and skin saving as much fat as i could[ im a pretty good half ass butcher]. I searched the web and came up with 2 recipes one for kielbasa and one for Italian sweet sausage. I had 4 lbs of each ground up in my grinder. Well i even impressed myself they both came out awesome .I tasted samples to check the seasoning . Now i go and start my smoker and i had an error it said eaa1 so i call masterbuilt no dice they are only open weekdays . Aaah brainstorm i googled it and sure as anything i get my answer .Theres a heat element inside the unit and some guy said hit it with a hair dryer and BINGO it worked. It was really cold the last few days sop it had an effect on it .I will show pics and up date how the kielbasa comes out from the smoker. Im lovin' this having so much fun and im getting flash backs making sausage wit my dad no electric machine. I was the motor for the crank .

I pay way over $ 200 month for cable, phone land line. and my internet service. it is second only to my mortgage

I hope for a speedy and full recovery
  4. i made jerky in my masterbuilt smoker i got for christmas. I love this thing. This might be long winded so bear with me guys. First i opened the box and the thing was packaged with 100 yds of tape. Then i get the instructions .Which are vague and in english, spanish and french and confusing [ i got flash backs putting my kids toys together @ christmas]. Well my daughter gave me high mountain jerky kit for my birthday awhile ago.SO i followed the directions with that and marinaded it overnite. Well i got the smoker going as best as i could i didnt know i had to season the thing. It was a learning process i found out that the remote it comes with is useless; I was playing with it and it overrode the program that i set on the controls on the unit it shut it off and i went to check it and it was off. Thank god for youtube. i learned alot more from that than from their website which sucked .But i loaded the smoker with the jerky and set it @ 174 degs and 6 hrs . I got no smoke back to youtube i didnt know when i added the wood chips[ i used pecan cause thats what i had] i had to twist the wood chip holder to load it in the pan. well it was a learning process and i still have to twiq this. Play with the heat to get more smoke.Well its fun to learn . The jerky came out AWESOME!!!! , sorry about the grammar guys .But give me a break i graduated high school in '78 lol

She says well i guess its ok as long as your not rubbing anything else
  8. yeah larry hes very honest.I had arthroscopic surgery in 2004 and was seeing a doctor in dec of 15 and said look im going on a cruise in feb. for my anniversary and want to be pain free for that.He said i'll give you something new rooster comb injections it was 5 shots in all and he said it'll last 6 mos. and damn if he wasnt right july i couldnt walk with out pain. My knee was shot bone on bone so i needed a knee replacement. But some of these doctors are an assembly line in and out next . OH yeah you need a new knee just to hit the insurance co..You have good insurance they'll give you very test under the sun and milk it for all its worth. But your doctor seem very good
  9. thats so funny i worked with the guy who owns the places dad. And i still work with his uncle[zio in italian]
  10. yeah i did last year 11/30/16 it cut my season short.Well physical therapy is important but man @ $25 a visit 3x aweek i couldnt do it. but i ride a bicycle so that helped. But its all up to you, i went back to work after 3 mos. they made me they threatened to stop my benefits. i had no problem with that though. Give it time in the summer i swore i regretted doing it but it took a year but im glad i did it. No pain all winter,Its a slow process
  11. oh yeah if you read it at the end it says take it out of the oven and have it with crusty bread.I was like wow it said do it on the stove top
  12. its the same recipe i got it off the food network page too. yeah your right it was much better after i let it simmer for 2 hrs it mellowed out alot. When i first tasted it WOW the essence that he uses was intense. Like i said it burned my lips.
  13. yeah i see it too what i do for a living is walk around in queens and brooklyn looking for gas leaks.I see them too all over the place.I carry a squirrel call with me for fun. I got it @ the show in rockland years ago.Its so funny i hit them with that call and i stop them in their tracks, they dont know what to make of it. it was so funny i was walking in forest hills[a very ritzy area] and some guy sees me talking to a squirrel and i said to him.See what this job done to me im here 35yrs and they got me talking to squirrels
  14. Hi everyone, yeah i know i know i posted this in general chit chat lol. But i did it for a reason , i took out what i thought was stir fry to make jerky so i said i'll make stew. I seen a recipe on here that a guy had twiked an emeril recipe for venison stew.I like emeril's recipes my daughter gave me a cook book of his years a go for christmas.I know he likes his spice and heat but, man i followed the recipe to the letter [which was a little vague]this is spicy i mean i love some heat and spice but this burned my lips. Well i hope someone else seen the guy's recipe on here i looked and can't find it no where. Oh yeah i'll let you know how the jerky turns out its the first time im using my masterbuilt smoker i got for christmas. im making 5 lbs .I had high mountain jerky kit so it was easy
  15. wow guys you are giving me flashbacks. marty stouffers wild america was so cool and he never took an issue with hunting.American sportsman with curt gowdy . Undersea world with jacques cousteau.Oh yeah i hope some of you guys might remember a guy Gadabout Gaddis the flying fisherman. Some of my best memories i have are watching these shows with my dad.
  16. yeah its the cold ,it kills batteries quickly.start your car on a very cold morning and see how it strains at fist to start. what i do for a living is find gas leaks and i use rovers to locate leaks and indicators to tell us how much gas is in a manhole or in the ground. in the winter i go though batteries some times in a few hours and have to change them every day and if i leave the equipment in the truck over nite the batteries are shot. We use top of the line batteries only industrial ,the retail ones wont work in the equipment .They dont have enough strength [now you know how the battery co. stay in business ]
  17. yes look at the she line of hunting clothes they are narrower @ the waist [ the jackets and shirts] the pants are bigger in the hips
  18. when i first looked @ it i said to myself wow this guys got too much time on his hands. But as i read it ,it was interesting how the results were.i used most of these products.I was amazed how well wd-40 did and how bad some of the others that i swore by[gunzilla, eezox] did. I use kroil oil in work its great stuff but would only use it on my guns if i had no choice . we use crc too and i used it alot on my boat, but never on my guns.i like that frog oil it looked like the one that preformed the best of the bunch.I know that you guys also know to never use these products on muzzleloaders[ well anything thats petroleum based], what i used on my muzzleloader which is an old percussion sidelock believe it or not gojo hand cleaner. Back in the day there were really nothing that sold stuff for muzzleloaders[except for a few catalogs],But what i did was melt the gojo and soak my patches in both for shooting and cleaning.
