wow you lucky not to be in the city. Here in queens racoons like trees have rights. I called 311 [ aka the rat line] cause my cat got bite by a racoon and his face was all puffed up and the vet had $ signs in her eyes and hit me for $800 and told them about the racoons. I mean my wife almost got bit putting out the garbage cans out . Now city employees are well known to be courteous and totally professional and the woman[ I was going to use another word but I cant say that here] and she screamed DO NOT HARM racoons they are wildlife and are protected and you will be heavily fined. She used their favorite catch phrase what you need to do is call a exterminator $$$$$ or get hav-a-heart traps and gently release them to the wild.

Having a difficult time with stainless frying pans
tommyc50 replied to Bionic's topic in Game Recipes / Cooking
hello, YES!!! I said when you season it NOT when you use them just wipe them out. Wash AND dry completely and season again also, if you don't use castiron [including woks ]like atlest once a month you have to reseason them again. -
yeah me too couldn't get on for 2 days too,Looks like we got hacked again , damn animal rights fanatics @ it again..Well I don't care what they say vegetables are a side dish

The one I was using I got free w/ my ladder stand it was comical watching me put that on left leg here right arm here it took almost a 1/2 hr to put it on so I went and got the hunter safety system one .One of the best things I ever got for hunting very comfortable and easy to put on @ 4 am

all pans NOT non-stck need to be seasoned that is put a lite coating of oil canola oil ect… never olive oil and deffently not the extra virgin stuff [ sorry Rachel ray] .T hen put them in a 200 deg oven for 30 mins and they are seasoned nothing will stick [well almost anything my wife will prove me wrong] .Cast iron and woks are a nother story . lite coating of oil an blast them on the stove top ,wash and do it again and again. -

yeah that's what I always did then all of a sudden I couldn't see the pins so I moved my face to right side and smash the string on the left side of my nose and face and look out of the side of my right eye just to see the pins though the peep. I line ever thing up like I always did and couldn't get a site picture I just don't understand what happened but 2yrs ago I couldn't see everything was blurry so I went to the doctor and my sugar was over 400 and my a1c was like 9.7 so I was put on metformin and Januvia my eyes came back but I had this problem shooting .Oh yeah I shoot my recurve fine .
-
yeah left eye closed when I shoot my recurve I shoot both eyes open
-
hey guys I need your input well for a while my both bows to shoot I had to turn my face to the right and smash the string in my face just to see the pins and even then its not on the bull and I have to move all over the place trying to get the 20 yd pin on the bull consequently im punching the release . I cant tell you how many arrows I lost @ the range hitting the wood on the side of the target and upstate in the grass. When I draw the bows im looking at the rail not @ the pins. I'm so frustrated I was going to give up the bow I really don't want to shoot if im not on my game and wound an animal. I don't know if coming down with diabetes has anything to do w/ it . Well the guy @ my pro shop help me on my old bow a pse 2008 deerhunter and it seemed to correct it a little . so I did the same on my 2015 bear I moved the rest to the right and the site to the right and everything lined up but maybe you can see something else is wrong

Colin Kaepernick and Nike
tommyc50 replied to ADK Native's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
its a sad thing its the hype and theres always someone cause its the new in thing they have to have it and pay any amount[ well im old but I paid $80 in '85 a lot @ the time for teddy ruskin and remember tickle me elmo. I personally knew some one paid $300 for it and the cupcake craze a few years ago people lined up down the street to pay $5 for a damn cupcake] Even the $1000 hamburger I seen on t.v. ,the news media asked some one who got it why they paid that much for a hamburger and he said well there was so much talk about it I had to try and plus I got the money ., the restaurant got a lot of advertising and it cost them nothing. N ow i fell for a lot of stuff too [ how many of us hunters see something and its the greatest thing since slice bread , get scent killer get code red ,code blue, get the rage broad heads seeing all the testimonials and paying a lot for them and find out they weren't all they were cracked up to be] -

well I just seen that nike stock was up 27% since this media ploy . Wow very smart any publicity is good publicity . All I hear and see on the internet ,t.v. and radio and of course the papers is about this and of course they all wanted trumps opinion. Don't believe the hype its very hard to do today with the Kardashians every where you look. -
that's not bad ,do it yourself. Skim coat w/ mortar mix and then hit the whole foundation w/ thoroseal. Get the good one . I gutted my basement now my house was built in 1925 so the ciderblock in the basement was breaking away the mortar joints were good so I chipped away all the loose stuff and filled [it was bad] and skim coated w/ mortar mix then hit it w/ thoroseal it took like 10 gals this was 10 yrs ago and then they were going for like $80 in homedepot

What knife will you be using for hunting this year ?
tommyc50 replied to Hunter007's topic in General Chit Chat
don't laugh but a set of 2 that I got from the nra one to gut and a smaller one to eat with[no teeth pbj no problem, apples= problem] and one I got a looonnngg time ago in hermans but I am very careful about keeping them sharp. A sharp knife I don't care a $5 or a $500 knife if its not sharp or cant get or hold an edge its worthless. now stainless is notorious for being hard to put an edge on but if you take your time and keep the angle [22degs] it will work very well and just need to be touched up abit ,they go dull easily. Now I don't want to get off the subject but one thing its a new season I do is sharpen ALL MY knives and change my batteries in ALL my equipment that take batteries like fashlites .head lamp and my range finder [once I didn't and my flashlite didn't work well it was all green and oxidized in side so I learned my lesson] and use new FRESH batteries no surprises in the dark or when im in the field and have to improvise. -
many years ago my friend shot a deer a spike but[no ar then] .well we hung it from the back legs and as I skinned it I got to the breast bone and it was all gray and a hard mass.I couldn't get the skin off upside down so we layed him down and cut around it we had the skin most of the way off and hung him back up. Icut the mass out and found a bullet lodged in its breast bone. I was a small round maybe a 9mm/380 but bigger than a.22. All I thought was he must have been in a lot of pain walking around like that. Man did it stink when I cut it out and was all green like it was infected but it was just the breast bone so we didn't loose much meat
