  1. yeah ,well I have my give my 2 cents well, I went two weeks ago tonite to yankee stadium for the mets vs the yankees first $40 to park the car then all I want was a damn hot dog and a diet coke well I see some guy cutting beef and the line is like 45 mins long to get some kind of steak sandwich [this was field level oh yeah I was told if you want a hot dog you gotta go up to the cheap seats] well I get on a short line and get a burger fries and a diet coke[well good thing mikey bloomberg's not around anymore and I could get a coke bigger than 16 ozs]$30 and this is $70 before I even sat down on top of the $115 I paid for the tickets. Well the burger was over cooked so when I went to get another coke I asked the girl there why was the burger was cooked so hard and she says oh we have cook it to 160degs as per health dept regs food police telling me how I have to get my burger. Long story short I will NEVER EVER go to that !!@$#% hole again bring back the old stadium. sorry if I offended anyone but I needed to vent
  2. you hit it on the head ,. Went t get my license online I did it last year well it was like it froze I went to fishing and marine registry and added the date and that was all it would do ,then I went down to add tags on the left and got a blank screen I couldn't view the cart or go to checkout .Well I called and got someone not too bright and really didn't understand English 5xs I told her my dec id # I said 4 zeros and she put in 4 4s ,I told her ok lets try this zero, zero, zero, zero and AGAIN she I don't see it.I tell her you have to im online and looking right @ it .W ell I wound up going to my archery shop I was there in the afternoon and the lady come back after 7 well I got there 7:15 and the guy who does the licenses was carrying boxes and I help him, well he says come back after 8 so I went for a bike ride and went to starbucks [I HATE THAT PLACE] and had a cup of coffee and a cigar and went back after 8 and got well I rode home and my daughter says the archery shop called you forgot your license well back on the bike and p/u it up .Amazing something was telling me to wait .Oh and I didn't get my doe tag
  3. give that man a beer correct!!! I watch bizarre foods that guy Andrew Zimmern eats them all the time cut right from the bull and fried
  4. hi everyone , I made some kielbasy , moosemeat and pork shoulder and smoked it in the masterbuilt smoker and I learned a few things plus I learned from making it before. Thats the fun of it making the recipe my own. You can play with the recipe add spices you like for instance add more garlic or add paprika or cardamom or cayenne add or heat ,but I never ever change the procedures like adding a cure pink salts #1[ its for anything that's hot smoked bacon, sausages ect… #2 is for anything cured salami.soppersatta anything you can store with out refrigeration] and I always clean everything that comes in contact w/ the meat in Clorox and freeze the meat and anything that comes in contact/ the meat keep it cold. now in one pic you see I have a fan on the sausage that's hanging [yeah yeah I know the food police lol,the broom but I cleaned it and the wife wasn't too happy about me using the dining room chair .This is so important dry the casing BEFORE you smoke if you don't you get very tough skin [I know I did it the last time]. the only thing w/ the masterbuilt is the trying to get smoke with out having the heat too high [that toughens the casing too and makes it look wrinkly ]. W hat I did was start the chips alittle w/ a torch and it worked also it took for ever to get the sausage to an internal temp of 160 degs ,oh and cool down the sausages IMMEDATLY WITH A HOSE OR AN ICE BATH . ok the one pic is from the super market I was looking for pork fat and I stubbled on these can anyone tell me what they are [I know but haven't seen them in awhile]
  5. I hate when people post pics of food on f/b but im so proud of this. I made a neck of venison pot roast in the slow cooker. I got the recipe off this site hunter, angler, gardener ,cook the guys amazing hes got stuff on there you can make salami. olives, almost anything See this is the first time I tried this recipe [although I made pot roast w/ beef before] and it wasn't in a slow cooker but I didn't have the time to put it in the oven and I added some stuff [I always play with recipes alittle] like for instance I had some essence of Emeril from when I made venison stew that I got from him, laying around so I had to coat the roast I flour, paprika and cayenne so I cut the cayenne and added the essence [this stuff is wicked but perfect for long slow cooking it mellows out].
  6. well as long as you guys are staying upstate pomodoros in catskill is good . when I was growing up my grand mother had a house in narrowsburg and I spent my summers up there and a guy opened a pizzeria in town well it tasted funny I said to him whats the stuff on the bottom he said corn meal so it don't stick. I told him no in the city they use a rack to crisp up the crust or semolina so it slides out the oven [ I was like 12 but I knew my stuff about pizza] he changed and it was really good. Also there was a sweet shop so guy owned this guy had the movie house and some other business, so I asked for a egg cream the girl behind the counter said I don't have eggs I said an egg cream has no eggs . On the third try she got it I told her you take you -bet syrup like 2 squirts then milk and then add the seltzer and stir. You know they added it to the menu but still charged me even though I gave them the idea.
  7. neither ozone pizza for sicilian, new park for reg., and spumoni gardens in Brooklyn for Sicilian also . don't go to difava on ave j in bklyn he' a nice old man but its over rated `1hr wait for a slice and pay $5 . oh yeah LA villa is ok but $3.50 a slice I rarely go there and the food isn't what it use to be
  8. ask and ye shall receive we are getting a lot of squalls in nyc this week
  9. it looks like it came off the trailer .Wow it looks like after super storm sandy I kid you not
  10. oh I meant my dad had the boat duh !!!! I was like 10 .11.and 12 yrs old great memories
  11. car topper is the way to go plenty of room for you and the kids. I made my bones in an aluminum caretopper on the Delaware and some lakes and reservoirs in narrowsburg as a kid.He had a 5hp ted Williams outboard for the Delaware and me as a motor w/ oars on the lakes and resevoirs cause they didn't allow motors .I also had my first boat in Jamaica bay I had more fun with that bat that the other 3 I had. Believe me its the way to go much more versatile and 10xs more stable than I yak and canoe you can stand in one [on calm days I did it casting bucktails to stripers and fluke] you aint doing that's in a canoe and yak for sure heres a few I like . yeah I know some are on trailers but you can put them on roof racks too.
  12. wow nice bread and butter pickes, dill pickles .You ever pickle green tomatoes? You use the same brine as dill pickles they are amazing
  13. I go on dream catcher charters in Rochester amazing, for me its worth the 6 hr drive. capt sam is the best
  14. you both did really good I got the recipe that finally worked for me from hunter, angler, gardener cook but like most recipes I get off the internet or from books I twiq them alittle . I used alittle less salt and I find that instead of a brine I use a dry rub and put it in a zip lock bag cause I pissed off the wife I put it in plastic wrap and it dripped all over the fridge they have 2 gallon ones [ I got mine from dollar tree a buck for like 6] oh and I planted dill so I mixed the sugar and salt and dill then washed it off. The most important thing which you really didn't do turkey feathers is create a pellicle that is put it in the sun [if its alittle on the cool side] and a breeze day is a plus and a fan on it or in the basement cool place w/ a fan till you get a hard ,shiney and slightly sticky surface then you are ready to smoke. turkey I hope you don't mind a little criticism you did good but like anything this is trial and error and learn and make it to your liking see the white stuff that's fat it melts if you don't make a pellicle it like seals it
  15. yeah I live in queens we have a lot of rats in the city ,youtube pizza rat it was in the subway funny as hell. But whats worse is the two legged rats we have and they get rewarded now by the city. If you see a truck or anyone idling more than 3 mins you call the rat line 311 [one of mikey bloomberg claim to fame ]and if the person gets convicted and you get part of the fine. Its crazy if its a pvt contractor or really anyone not working for the city they are there in lightning speed to write tickets ,but if its a city agency they give you a confirmation # and do nothing and you call and call and they say oh heres a confirmation # I say I got one already . And they are arrogant condescending and rude I swear they find these people @ the detox @ Belview hospital
  16. wow thank you so much for posting my uncle gave me a book on him when I was like 7[im 58 now] .Amazing athlete did it all bo Jackson couldn't shine the mans shoes. Football. baseball. track and field. ITS sad in they took took all his metals he won in the 1912 Olympics cause he was paid to play baseball one year before the Olympics back then they were paid nothing so they had to do what they had to do to eat, that's what happened in 1919 with the black sox scandal ,even up to the 60's most sports players worked in the offseason they had to they weren't paid much. The man has a town named after him[ jim thorp ,pa.] .What any of these million dollar athletes today can say that.
  17. happy birthday to a great lady!!!!!
  18. jalapeño poppers wrapped in bacon, super easy and add what cheese you like feta, creamcheese a must ,or ricotta and mozzella and just wrap in bacon and put them on the bbq can be made ahead.A nother super easy and made ahead take string cheese and wrap in prosciutto or and salami serve cold.Also. scallops [imitation ones work] cook the bacon in the microwave for about a minute and a 1/2 then wrap around scallops and bbq. A good way to add vegetables take skinny eggplant[you can use the fat one but the skinny ones better], zucchini and slice them and marinade in bottle Italian dressing or anything else you like lemon juice/olive oil w/ oregano any herbs you want and hit the bbq but careful they burn easy. I got the copper grill mat and it works great. Oh yeah of course Chinese pork dumplings fry them frozen for about 10 mins ove med heat and CAREFULLY add alittle water to the pan and cover let the water evaporate alittle and that's it serve with vinegar and soy sauce and alittle hot sauce and alittle sesame oil if you can get it

  22. first I don't want to fight with you.But you are always berating people and belittling them in here ,you can say things politely and not put folks down ,I posted f'ed up in here and made mistakes and ALL the people were courteous enough to tell me in pvt, Oh by the way I like the post something interesting to think about. Oh and by the way please, please get your facts straight cwd started in the west possibly from domestic sheep and cattle spread to elk and deer from what I read.
  23. trolling is work . I've fished lake Ontario in Rochester for salmon and tuna, bluefish, stripers back in the day most don't do it cause of the fuel cost . Even on a charter we all lend a hand we had too when a fish is on or multiple fish bringing the dead lines . helping the guy fighting the fish get in the chair or helping with the harness. I would go on some boats out in Montauk that specialized in bucktailing stripers w/ wire line it was work the capt would say keep em moving .Moving the bucktail back and forth something like jigging and even trolling bunker spoons got to watch the rod tip to see that the lure is dancing right.Oh and look @ the lures and out riggers/downriggers it aint cheap. Most today prefer to chunk[bait] or jig and drift
  24. yeah brooklyn's gone to hell see them all the time hipsters and other assorted freaks coming from manhattan
