It's a nice little shop, actual people that know what they are talking about. Unlike Dicks down the road, they didn't have any lefty bows, if I wanted one I would have had to pay for it and it would be shipped to me. Buy a bow I never touched? I don't think so.

Well sat I reported a hit doe, that's where it ended.long story short, I'm left eye dominant shoot guns lefty, damn good to, high shooter in marine corps boot camp in my platoon. But I've always had a RH bow, well this is the 3rd deer in 4 years I wounded. My right eye has gone to hell.went out sat. Afternoon and got set up with a new LH mission ballistic. Thank you to Hunters Landing in Batavia. I've shot the bow at least 75 times since saturday. Truthfully I've never shot better. Any hoo that brings us to this evening,went out with my 6 yr old son. Didn't get out till 615, that's when mom's home to watch our daughter. Walking in a doe took off from a field we were walking by, walked a little further and there's a deer starring at us from 10 yards away in the field, we r just into the woods 10 yards. I asked him if I should shoot, it's a doe fawn, he said no. So off we went to the stand. So proud of him. He stopped when I stopped he knows to be very quiet and whisper. Saw no deer from the stand, but 3 more walking out. Having a great time with him, helps me forget about my early mistake. Sorry this was so long winded, good luck to everyone.

First time out behind our new house. Didn't get in the tree till 610. Also first time taking my son out during bow. Within 20 mins had a doe a fawn and a small buck walk out on they're way to the soy beans. 10 mins later 3 doe straight ahead of us came out but caught some movement and trotted off. 20 mins later a nice buck and another deer came out in the same spot as the first three. Needless to say It was the best 1hr in a tree I can remember, especially sharing it with my son. I had to let him know it's not always like this, I'm used to sitting all day and seeing maybe 3 deer. Can't wait for tomorrow evening. Brining the climber back and setting up closer to where they were comin into the field edge.

I got the itch, but part of that is the poison oak I seem to always find on my new property. But seen alot of deer this summer, should be a great year!

Took a doe clean at 40 yards last year, that is my max.Most kills are between 15-25 yards.

First deer was a button buck shot with my Hoyt bow, next day I shot a 8pt buck. One if the best weekends of my life.

Well I went to the batavia walmart... $89, I still bought it, gotta have a spot for me and the kids to sit in the new woods!

I've never moved them to gut them, he just offered this special spot. 2 years ago I shot a doe that walked by a buck I shot an hour earlier.

Talking with my neighbor the other day. He tells me they have a particular spot in their woods where they gut their deer. He says the smell will scare the other deer away. I have always gutted my deer pretty much where they lay. I've had deer walk by a recently downed deer. Just looking for thoughts, do gut piles spook deer?

He came in with a nice 8pt, but the cheap cam only got him.

Question for the experts, at this point of the year how much more growth can we expect from a buck? I have a real wide 8 point showing up in my field but he's not very tall. I'd say he's 20" inside but at this point his G2's are only about 8". Just curious what I should expect to see in another month. Thanks.

Not to make this religious, but wolc123.... u say he never made a mistake buy how do u explain the great flood? That was to wipe away a MISTAKE. The father should have taught his son never to shoot at deer so close to each other. Fortunately they recoverd the second deer, seems like alot of "hunters" around here don't look if they don't see the deer drop.

How big was it, don't see them that often. But definitely more interesting then your average Garter snake.
