Been writing since high school. Even went to college to teach literature (even though I still talk like a hillbilly) but dropped out because my mind is useless when contemplating numbers. But I've finally can mark getting published off the bucket list! I wrote a piece for American Digger Magazine. Also have a new video up. Walked two miles of creek in search of yet another major civil war crossing. Found some interesting things. Then on to a home site that was captured by union forces in 1863. Oh yeah, and two owls. Me and my dad put the kayaks in and paddled up the creek to a section where I found a whole harmonica and a civil war era ax head last summer. It was a great evening out and I found some cool and unexpected pieces of history. But the weather ended up turning bad and we had to paddle back through the storm. Hope you enjoy the adventure. Went back to the Civil War camp with my kiddos. Then off to a sketchy section of creek to try to locate another 1860s crossing. Nice bed rock. Startling bull frog. And the biggest beach tree I've ever seen with carvings along the side. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

As a turkey hunter, decided to post this here since the season is in. The wife had a very close call the day before yesterday. The snake was laying parallel to a tree root and she was nearly on top of it before she saw it. I was on the phone with her when she saw it. She screamed and I took off to where she was at. Keep your eyes on the ground and be careful out there everyone. This evening could have ended in a very painful trip to the hospital for my wife. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Well, me and the family were finally able to get on top of the morels. It's been a tough season so far. All of the properties that I have permission to be on that have the right habitat for whatever reason, didn't have any morels. So after our Disney trip, we went back and checked our patch and finally, found some. I think when the soil warms up more we're really going to have a huge flush!
