  1. They are extremely early for us this year and seem to be nationwide. I've seen morel growth charts up around 20 days. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  2. This is the first video of several that I will be doing regarding morel mushrooms. Since filming and editing this video, our patch has fruited and we plan to have part 2 up within the next day or so. In Georgia, morels are typically found in sandy soils in creek or river bottoms near ash and elm tree. Our patch, however, is nowhere near a creek or river or even a stream and the soil isn't sandy. Hopefully this will help others locate morels in similar habitat. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  3. Well, took the kiddos out looking for points in a freshly plowed field and then my daughter leads us to redneck island. Near the end I find another small brown snake with a bright red belly. Any ideas on the type of snake it is? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  4. I dug my first silver quarter and a ton of cool home site stuff. I also give a peak in to my collection. Hope you enjoy! Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  5. She's definitely a snorter haha. Thanks for the feedback everyone. So far, worm snake is leading in all the internet polls. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  6. I've caught these kinds of snakes before but I'm not sure what kind they are. Anyone know? Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  7. This was a very hard earned and unexpected find and it couldn't have happened to a better person. My beautiful wife had the honor of unearthing this very rare (for our neck of the woods) button. We also found some other great homesite finds. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  8. That's a sweet find man! Thanks for watching! Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  9. Yes. Sherman had an entire campaign devoted to Georgia. He came through this state like a fiery tornado, burning entire cities in his passing. I look for places where the retreating confederates took a stand before fleeing again. That's where the goods are.Although, I have found a few small union camps as well. 10. I find it all over my home county and we film it with our camera. Well, my wife's camera, that is.Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  11. Well folks, we were finally able to do some more filming with my wife's camera. Every time I sit down to edit footage shot with it, I feel like I'm getting away with something! Anyways, there are some pretty sweet finds in this video. Many Civil War goodies. I hope you all enjoy. I'm hoping to get to make a few videos this weekend strictly with my wife's camera, if I'm lucky. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks for the feedback. I looked the clorox bottle up and it dates to the 1950s. There was some mining done near there in the 50s. Probably ended up there from the miners.Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  13. I think me and your brother would get along. I forage for mushrooms as well. Thanks for watching! Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  14. Me and my dad took off work early and hiked back to the homesite where my wife found the CSA button. We found some neat stuff but there's a piece in particular that I'm curious about. It's near the end, for those of you who may not want to sit through the other digs and other finds. Maybe some of you older folks may know what it is. Let me know if it's something worth going back and getting because I definitely will! The mystery piece is around the 7 minute portion of the video. And feedback is appreciated. 15. It sure is. A bird was the last thing on my mind!
  16. Thanks for watching folks. Glad y'all enjoyed the madness.
  17. Glad I'm not the only one out there with that problem. Thanks for watching folks!
  18. Well me and my buddy Josh went to check out a potential metal detecting spot yesterday evening. I was already running late but he convinced me to go (it wasn't too hard). We pull up and start walking towards the old house and I was tempted to go grab the detector but I knew my wife would divorce me if I took much longer. Instead I walked in to the front door. I immediately heard something in the ceiling. To me it sounded like a snake slithering. I figured it was some rat snakes mating. I held my hand up to stop Josh. "I heard something in the ceiling." I whispered. Just as I said that an ungodly sound echoed from the ceiling. It was part hiss, part growl and a quarter gargle. "And on that note, it's time to get the heck out of here." Josh said. "No way man. I gotta know what's up there." Well, y'all know me. I went back to the truck and got the camera. This is what unfolded. If something in the video doesn't make sense, I tried to explain everything in the description.
  19. I appreciate it! Thanks for taking the time to give it a watch.
  20. Thanks for taking the time to watch folks. I should have shot the fire scene differently. Every shot made the woods look dry as a bone when actually we had just had a major snow (for Georgia) and it was nearing the end of the thaw. I was only able to get a fire started because I found some pine heart. But I really thank all of you who took the time to watch and for lending feedback.
  21. Thanks for watching and I'm sorry about the audio. We filmed with a Canon t5i DSLR with a 50mm, standard and telephoto. And it was all a beautiful pain in the you know what haha.I enjoyed making it but it really is more work than folks realize.
  22. Well, Ive been wanting to do something like this for quite sometime. Over the past 2 months me and my wife and our two children have set out with the camera in hopes to make it happen. This is the first time I have put music and video to my writing so I would love some constructive criticism regarding the cinematography, the writing and the entirety of the piece in general. Looking back on it now, I wished I would have had more experience with sound editing. Some folks online have said the music is too loud and the voice over is too soft while others have told me they could hear it fine. Anyways, since it is related to hunting and fishing I thought I'd share it with yall. Please let me know what y'all think.
