  1. I could use a source for the beet juice fillup. Does it work for both tubed and tubeless tires? (I have tubed in front, tubeless in back.)
  2. Thanks, TG. I'm the process of getting ag tires. It's been a bit of a pita. There is only one current manufacturer (Goodyear,; currently made by Titan) and a few oddball closeouts for tires that fit (11.2-16 and 7-12) The rims have been even harder to find. All in all, I'm ordering from four different places. Should have all the pieces by the end of the week, to try again the following week.
  3. @Cabin Fever You want a device that she would wear that has "geofence" functionality. Something like this or this (I just came across these on a search. Have no idea how well it works.) Good luck.
  4. Yes, that is eventually how we got it out. The mud was like a thick soup. Every time we pushed down on the bucket, it would just sink in. I had two large boards that I kept trying to put under the wheels, but there was no traction. I finally got the idea to lay the two boards down, parallel to the tractor, under the bucket. Then, when the bucket pushed down, it had some resistance and pushed the tractor back out of the rut. I did try tow straps with Kubota, that's how it got stuck. then tried come-along between the two vehicles, but that didn't work. I've heard about tying a log or 2x4 to wheels, but will need to research how to do that. @G-Man, would you have an opinion on my chains vs. ag tires question?
  5. Well, you were right. My hunting land is the soggiest it's ever been. It's about 1/4 mile from Lake Ontario and it seems like the water table is higher than usual. The person I have cutting my trails got stuck within 50 yards of the road yesterday. I went out with the Kubota RTV 900 to pull it out and it got stuck, too. For both, the tires got filled up with wet mud and had zero traction. There was standing water in the ruts we made. We went back out today and with some pieces of wood, et al, and got both of them unstuck, fortunately. So question: How effective would tires chains be (on all 4 tires) vs. getting ag tires? Chains would be cheaper and faster to get . . . .
  6. This is for the Spypoint ones. See https://www.spypoint.com/EN/plans/ for details.
  7. Free for 100 pics per months, fee if you want more. If you have good cell reception and charged batteries, they work fine. Be wary of windy areas triggering pics.
  8. check out 365 Things to Do in Niagara Falls and Buffalo, NY
  9. No REI, or EMS, in Buffalo. Right now, the hardest part for me is finding a place in WNY where I can hike a bit and then pitch a tent and light a fire just off the trail (as opposed to camping at a designated site). There's always Finger Lakes National Forest, I guess. I'll keep Genesee Brew Pub in mind for the next time Mrs. Goose and I are in ROC. Thanks.
  10. Yeah, the title was a mouthful. It's from 9:30 to 3:30. Anybody going? I am. I want to learn more about backpacking and camping. For general info, see: http://www.adk-gvc.org/expo For schedule and workshop descriptions, see: https://drive.google.com/file/d/104slPexU9z2kut5AtNK4qwJ5302VRjxu/view?usp=sharing For a map of the park, see: http://www.monroecounty.gov/Image/MendonPark.pdf (it's at the Beach area parking lot, just south of Canfield Rd and Douglas Rd. in Pittsford.
  11. Biz, that's the same thing I tell my wife. Glad someone understands.
  12. Happy Birthday, Grampy! What's on the birthday agenda?
  13. It's on my calendar. Finally get to meet the Biz . . . .

    Tick

I went for a walk on my hunting land today to change out camera cards and take soil samples. I sprayed on 25% DEET insect repellent beforehand, and wore a long sleeve t shirt and high rubber boots. Afterwards at the car, I had 3 on my shirt that I brushed off. After I got home, I had one on my bicep, and then a few hours later, one on my forearm. Fortunately, they weren't buried in my skin, just crawling around. Weird, and scary. I guess there is no way around doing a full body inspection, even with repellent.
  15. I found where the turkeys are hiding out in North Buffalo--the cemetary at Elmwood and the 290:
  16. You're not the genius behind the Kinky Chef live video chat site that's been sweeping the nation, by any chance?
  17. My thoughts are with you doing this difficult time. Your heart is in the right place--it's time. Be grateful that you will be with her to the end.
  18. For people that have already ordered, will you send them the pickup address?
  19. Thanks, Jay. Hopefully the weather will dry out and get above 60 at some point . . . .
