I'll take you up on that. To my surprise, my wife said she'd go fishing with me, as long as I do all the dirty work.
-
Is the pond off Audubon? That sounds like a convenient spot. Thanks.

I'd like to do some simple, basic freshwater fishing this year. Haven't really fished since I was a kid. I remember buying all this stuff for my tackle box; don't even remember what happened to it. Anyway, there are a few starter kits out there, and wanted some opinions as to whether they are worth it, or if I am better off just buying what I need piecemeal. The two kits I found that look interesting are this one at Cabela's link for $22.99 and this one at Walmart link for $15.86. I bought a lighter weight fishing pole for $20 earlier this week. Thanks.

WNY people - pistol permit bureau in Cheektovegas
goosifer replied to turkeyfeathers's topic in General Chit Chat
Thought it was better to revive a useful old thread then start a new one. Finally got my pistol permit application in yesterday. Did the fingerprints today. In addition to the forms printed online, when I got there they had two forms regarding mental health, asking if I had ever seen a psychologist or psychiatrist, with dates, and any hospital stays. Other form was to give them permission to search my medical records. It's crazy how the process varies from state to state. Well, will get an answer back in 12 to 18 months. That's what I get for procrastinating all these years. -
Can't recommend a specific source, but there are a lot out there. www.signs.com for example. just google custom aluminum signs. If you know exactly what you want in terms of size, font, text, etc., it's just a matter of finding the price you like, or stopping when you get tired of looking. For plastic signs, I used http://rowesprintshop.com/signs.php years ago.

threatening an officer is a serious offence. or do you mean I should have asked for the officers?
-
Yeah, the backfire part is what I'm worried about, i.e., I plead not guilty and the DA doesn't offer me a plea deal. That's why I was thinking hiring a lawyer to take care of it before the court date when the sheriff is there might be the safer way to go.
-
OK, I will do as you guys have recommended. Thanks for the info, and responding so quickly.

Happy Birthday, Bionic. Enjoy your day.

I hear what everyone is saying, and I appreciate the input. My wife, based on her experiences with her son when he was younger, insists I should hire a lawyer and let them take care of it prior to the court date. I guess I could do like Robhuntandfish suggested and contact the DA office prior to the court date. OTOH, from a risk/return perspective, I don't mind paying more (for a lawyer) to lower the chance of getting points on my license. I know, I know, I'm a wimp.

Yeah, with those two huge diet Cokes, I never would have held out till I got home to pee.

the officer alleged that the radar indicated I was doing 50 mph, and was giving me a break at 43. <shoulder shrug>

Ransom Rd, northbound crossing over the 90

Anyone have a suggestion for an attorney who handles speeding tickets in Clarence? I found a new speed trap in Clarence today. Got a ticket for doing 43 in a 35.

Bionic, ever checked out bushcraftusa.com? They have posters from all over the world. Seems like a good forum in general for bushcraft.

We tried Schnitzels a while ago. Did not have a good experience, unfortunately. Did, however, enjoy Rizzoto on Maple recently (same owners).

Early dinner at Rhinebeck restaurant in Canandaigua. Authentic German food. Had the Metzger, sausage assortment plate.
-
Thanks, guys. I forgot to mention that we have Runnings and the German restaurant on the agenda already. May go to Naples for an art gallery there. If we do, will be sure to check out Sutton's. We need to run to the northeast side of Rochester for an errand, so that area is in play, too, for us. Might do something boring like mattress shopping.

Wife and I will be staying in Canandaigua for about 36 hours. Would like to find some stuff to do/see nearby other than wineries (hopefully cheaper that way). Thanks.

I'm looking at a 63 acre parcel that is listed for sale on County Line Rd, below Freeman Rd about 2/3s of the way to Palmer Rd. To see it on google maps go to https://goo.gl/maps/soSbkLKNdD52 Just trying to get some idea what the hunting is like, and what property values might be, in this neck of the woods. Thanks in advice for any info or opinions you may have.

Hunting is a lot like lovemaking. Some are better at it than others, different people use different techniques and implements, but in the end, we are all aiming for the same thing.
-
I've started reading bushcraftusa and some reddit subforums(?) related to survival, camping and bushcraft.

Is oldgobbler some sort of dating site for old turkey hunters?
-
Thanks, guys. I've never caught a turkey on camera before.
