  1. I would imagine they are facing the same labor shortages as everyone else. On top of that, the machinery is not "off the shelf" and is 100% custom made. I'd bet the leadtime for a machine of that type was 12-18 months pre-Covid.
  2. Good luck to all who are going out this morning. Looks like a great day is on tap!
  3. I've got a Griz 660 and have used it pulling a small set of discs. Same as in the pic. I can overheat the ATV easily in the summer. I imagine it wouldn't work as hard pulling a mower.
  4. I believe the DEC rules say "aircraft of any kind" can't be used. Even if legal, I wouldn't want to risk spooking anything in a pre-hunt situation. While the drone isn't loud, it is audible. Especially if it's fighting some wind. Sounds like a swarm of bees. I was at around 250-300 ft altitude when I spotted them on the screen and dropped down to maybe 150-175 feet to get the video. I had the benefit of one neighbor mowing, and a neighbor on the other side running a haybine, so I had quite a bit of cover noise in the area. Other times I've been at 200 ft with no other noises around and had them look right up at it.
  5. Not in the least. Navigation is all done on two joysticks, and there are canned subroutines for take off and landing. Lots and lots of other stuff to learn and get good at, but the basic navigation is very intuitive and learned in minutes.
  6. So close to my first win! Lost by less than a point.
  7. @Belo Up near your neck of the woods. I had one of these for about 10 years. Long lasting, easy to find parts for, and does the job nicely. Ford 8N and Bush Hog - farm & garden - by owner - sale (craigslist.org)
  8. What is this "jumping on" of which you speak?
  9. Free time and calm skies seem to rarely line up for me, but I took the drone up last evening. The camera is capable of 4K video but this is a bit pixelated as I used digital zoom so you you weren’t looking at little brown dots on the screen. Had to stay high enough to not spook them, although the neighbor’s mower gave me a little cover noise.
  10. So sorry Larry. Those are great pics and memories!
  11. I don't use a light on the way in except on the darkest mornings. Almost always on the way out. I've walked up on skunks before. Never sprayed thankfully, but too close for comfort each time.
  12. I need to include canning in my repertoire. What did you get?
  13. I didn't know Ollies sold that kind of stuff. A new store recently opened along my drive home from work. Think I'll check that out - thanks for the tip!
  14. I'm no auto-body mechanic, but I've had a bit of work done to cars I've owned over the years. That's a bit more than smudges. I'm going to take a wild guess and say that's about $1500 worth of new bumper cover, hardware and paint. Looks like it extends to a little of the fender too. A reputable shop would probably paint the whole fender. Let insurance deal with it correctly.
  15. Sorry you're losing that place, but if I can be bold enough to make a Biz-like prediction, that 150" buck will be a 165" buck this year when he's in your grateful hands!
  16. Same here. And I'm woefully not ready!
  17. I suffer from the same affliction. You will never, ever see me on a sloped roof.
  18. You're a machinist right? I never wear mine either unless it's dinner or another wedding we're attending. I was a toolmaker apprentice when we first got married, and saw a pretty bad finger mutilation from a stock feeder for a punch press. He didn't lose the finger but it was pretty gory.
  19. At 0-2 my team needs two kicks in the a$$. Yet I'm 2-0 in another league in which I auto-drafted. Apparently I can't be trusted to live draft.
