Was never really sure how the hunting leases worked as I've always used the land, my parents are easy going for the most part so I'll just run ideas by them.
To be honest I'd just be thrilled with nice, respectful folk if they choose to extend the option. I mentioned the price of the motor replaced on the pull behind bush hog, gas, and endless hours of time and he just said how its a shame and yadda. I assured that while they were riding trails that my old man cut out alot more specifically to make it easier to get to the stands in the brush, etc. I intend on hunting their next year and am going to try to shore up the arrangements for 2016 and beyond. I definitely don't need all the land up back for myself. Just based on your response, you're a good example of how a respectful hunter should be, and give the sport a good name. ????
