  1. its not the price of the gun as long as repedable manufacture .i took my cva optima i bought for 179.00 and my friend took his tc pro hunter and we both went out to 150 yrds and i was clover leafing my shots he was getting 2" groups at best i admit i have time behind this smoke pole and worked up good loads with it but long story short a deer isnt gonna know if hes getting shot with a 200.00 gun or 750.00 gun
  2. i have a 535 12 gauge with a fixed 2x scope with smoothbore and slugger slugs and knock them down as far out as 80 yrd i get 2-3 inch groups at 75 yrds at the range
  3. i think early 1700 hundreds or were you talking about modern muzzleloading lol
  4. i have a 535 with 28 " smooth bore barrel and i shoot rem sluggers and i use a reciever mounted scope 1.5 fixed scope and have made kill shots out to 80 yrds
  5. ok i went to local shooting range to sight in new scope on muzzle loader . i was only there 5 minutes shot one round swabed barrel . and attendent told me i couldnt use and solvents cleaners or oils in range .so i asked how iam i gonna use the range if i cant swab in between shots . then he said he had enough of the smoke . and i should leave . i was disturbing other shooters with my smoke anyway . so i left and asked for a refund and he said wasnt his problem that i couldnt sight my rifle in obeying the rules . does anyone know of a area in orange county that i can sight in muzzleloader iam not one to bad mouth companys or people but i just wont deal with them any more
  6. i have a mossberg 535 12 ga. its the best low maintence shot gun i ever owned .break down very easy yes it has a rattle here and there but . but the 4 doe and 1 buck and atleast a half dozen turkey never really cared if it rattled . they walked in front of it any way
  7. i bought my cva optima blue and black with thumbhole stock 50 cal for 179.00 shipped from sportsmans guide 2 years ago . i use t7 loose powder 90 grains and 240 grain power belt aero tip . i've never had a problem with this setup 3" groups at 100 yrd . only killed 2 deer with it 1 at 180 yrds the other at around 70 yrds and both never took a step

    CVA?

i have the cva optima blue / black with thumbhole stock 50 cal with a $100 dollar scope and taken a doe at 180 yrds no problem . thats with 90 grain lose triple 7 and a 240 grain powerbelt . i find if you shoot 150 grain loads it shoots a little wild but if you dont need it why waste it . matter of fact i like it so much i dont use a rifle anymore for deer . just the smoke pole
