  1. Not even close. I'm just speaking silliness to other silliness.
  2. That's what you're after? Getting DeBlasio to admit it was a waste of money? Elected officials to admit their mistakes? Good luck with that. I know you think you're doing the Lord's work by speaking truth to power but of all the dumb things to hang your hat on. I believe you once said that at your stage in life you were prepared to either give your life or spend the rest of your life in prison in the fight for your truth. Okay, here's a thought. Sneak into SI under the cover of darkness and take out a few deer with a bow. It may take a while before you're caught but when you are you will make the front page of every newspaper and have a national venue to speak about animal science, duplicitous politicians, and Biden. You'd probably only spend a few years in prison so will have plenty of time to find another cause once you're out.
  3. What is it you're hoping for? Acknowledgement that it was a stupid idea? I think pretty much everyone, including the advocates, think it was a stupid idea.
  4. Inside floor and walls of cabin. Really regretting this project. I should have just stripped it to the studs, painted everything white and called it a summer cabin, but no. Now I have wasps that have bored through the hemlock and built a nest somewhere in the exposed insulation. No way, I'm ripping that out to find them. Not sure how to deal with that.
  5. Nice work. I need 30 sheets of plywood for a project. Priced it last week - $63. This week $74. The guy honoured last week's price.
  6. Think 36th St between 5th and 6th at 1:00 pm.
  7. Re: India. The food is fantastic. I put on weight as I couldn't get enough. But it's a tough place. You will see the poorest people in the world living beside the wealthiest. And when I say poor, I mean they have nothing but the clothes they are wearing and a few utensils. At the end of the day they fall down wherever they are and in the morning start walking again. The kids were tough to see. There was a small building being built beside my office and I watched over a few months as it was constructed by families. Grandparents to kids would camp there and build the thing concrete block by concrete block. I remember my producer and I were travelling to a meeting and he pulled over to take a piss against a downtown building. When in Rome, I joined him and as we pissed he said, "this is why I couldn't live anywhere else."
  8. They say it's the hot vaccine. The marketing department at Moderna is probably losing it. That's my schtick, get your own.
  9. I lived in India for a few years. I wouldn't come close to calling it a "shithole" though I did see a level of poverty there normally not seen elsewhere. A billion people in a small place will do that. However, it was the one country I would have gone back to live in if I had the right offer. The people and the culture really got under my skin. You have to also remember that it is in many ways a very technologically advanced country. If this variant (now found in Michigan) rips through the under-40 crowd, then despite the more advanced treatment available here you're potentially looking at another shit show. Especially with the great swaths of the country refusing vaccines. Again, I tend to "voice of doom" this stuff.
  10. I tend to be the Lorne Greene "voice of doom" here, but what's rippin through India seems to be affecting 20/30/40 year olds as much as the 60/70/80 group. Once that makes it here ...
  11. Wow. Talked to three friends today who got their shots in Oneonta at SUNY. No line - in and out.
  12. You may want to read the essay I linked to, Cynthia. I just did and it mimics what you just said.
  13. Sorry to hear about your loss. When you have a moment, Oyez à Beaumont is the best thing I've ever read about a dog's death. The author, Vicki Hearne, was a dog trainer/author/philosopher and a student of Bill Koehler.
  14. That’s a good line. Have fun.
  15. Congrats. Let "keep, sell, donate" be your mantra for the next little while.
  16. It's worth spending a few bucks on a decent line. You can usually find a deal somewhere.
  17. Was it Orlando, Japan? Unless you meant the urban dictionary definition of "gas station sushi" in which case, I admire your bravery more so.
