  1. Unworn, one size, velcro closure in back. $15 plus shipping. Not sure how much this it ship. Will put it in a loose padded bag.
  2. I was looking for a daypack and SJK sent this to me to try out. I have to say, I quite like it. Small enough for a day and just large enough for a couple of light days, it hit a sweet spot for me. Of course the first thing I did as take it out for a weekend of fishing. There is a second pack that straps to the main pack and allows for a rifle or in my case, rods to be carried between the two and it can be configured as a shelf to haul out a quartered animal. Not bad for $169.
  3. It's an easier change and one that could achieve bipartisan support. Go after the bigger fish once precedent has been set. We know how much this court loves precedence.
  4. This is good. Start with the SC. Bring them in mid-40s to mid-50s and cut them loose after 18 years. Then go after congress.
  5. It's a little scary, especially on a new river. There were three of us, so we checkerboarded our way upstream as we figured out that the lead guy did best. What makes it slightly easier is that the big trout leave the pools and cruise shallow water. I caught that fish in shin-deep water.
  6. We landed 10 big fish in a matter of an hour, including a 16" brook. Sorry, I don't really take fish pics, but here's a couple of screenshots of the release video. That net's opening is 20". This was a monster fish.
  7. I was fishing with a dozen TU guys this weekend and one of them had this pack. It's meant to be more of a chest pack than a sling that you slide behind. I didn't realize that the snap in back closes a pocket. None of us had any idea what to do with the D-ring in back or the velcro loop. Sorry. On the plus side, I moused up a 23" brown at 1"00 am.
  8. What do you do when they ask which movement of Galliard's "Six Sonatas for Bassoon" is your favourite?
  9. I didn't see the back pic. It's a little weird. Why is that D ring there and what is that velcro closure for? This seems to be the bag with a video on how to wear it. Pretty simple. https://www.amazon.com/Tactical-Backpack-Shoulder-Traveling-Trekking/dp/B08FBCB8XB/ref=asc_df_B08FBCB8XB/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=507755842776&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=6527905576610794451&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9005424&hvtargid=pla-1250915046910&psc=1 Get in touch with TU and ask.
  10. It should fit over your head with the strap across your chest and the pack in back. When you need it, you grab the bottom of the strap near the pack and slide it under your arm and up to your chest. There can be another support strap, but I always take those off. It is probably also shoulder specific, so try both sides.
  11. You do know that when you rob a bank but you're too incompetent to actually get away with the money, you still get charged with robbing a bank? Period!!! (You see what I did there? I used THREE exclamation points, which trounces your single exclamation point!!!)
  12. Exactly. It was a half day. Take out travel time, scheduled breaks to rehydrate and check zipties, and the couple of minutes it took to erect the gallows to hang Pence, we're talking about what ... maybe 12 minutes. What's the big deal?
  13. Trust me, it all went through my mind for days after. The silly thing is, the same doe 100 yards into the woods at my stand, no hesitation. Oh well.
  14. He'll never know. After a frustrating season, I walked out my front door on the last day of ML to find a big doe standing 20' away. She froze and I raised the gun, centred it, then lowered. Wasn't the experience I wanted. Kicked myself all day but ultimately came to terms with it.
  15. I babysat a kid a few months back and for the entire day I made him call me, "O Captain! My Captain!" It's sad how frightened you are by fictitious things. And the not the "funny sad," but just the "sad sad."
  16. One of my favourite artists is Charley Harper, who had a great affection for cardinals. His lithographs and prints are pretty affordable if you're looking for a gift to honour your MiL.
  17. As someone whose "office" is the outdoors, let me just say that I can't wait until all you guys go back to your offices. A few years before Covid, my wife hired a young woman for her team. After a month, she came to my wife to say she made the biggest mistake of her life. "What's wrong?" asked my wife. "When I saw the job description was nine to five, I didn't realize it meant I actually had to come in at nine every day! Can I come in at eleven?" I'm sure that young woman is pretty happy right now.
  18. Hey Al - good to hear from you. Hope all is good with the dogs.
  19. Tarnishing the conservative name? To quote Groucho, I would never belong to a club that would have someone like me as a member. Did you read this part of the NYT article: "It is fairly typical for moderate Wyoming Republicans to recruit Democrats to switch parties ahead of primaries — it was key to Gov. Mark Gordon’s victory over a primary field that included Ms. Hageman in 2018. Democrats and independents can change their party affiliations by mail up to 14 days before the primary, or they can do so at the polls on Election Day." A hard-core conservative politician (Dick Cheney's daughter no less) reaching across the aisle to represent her constituents and unafraid to pour salt on the biggest slug in the swamp? Kind of thought you guys would be all over this. Where are you on Kinzinger? Can you give me a garbage example other than she's smacking Trump upside the head? We're not. I simply pointed out that the price had dropped $0.75. Too fast for Fox. I see you've been up all night, shitposting on your employer's dime. Way to keep the economy rolling. So, Biden. He represents that last of a generation of politicians that believe in bipartisanship. It's clear that the new generation (on both sides) want to tear down the institutions that made this country what it is. There was a time when they worked together for the betterment of the country. Now, it seems that pwning the other side is the goal. I said early on that Biden's opportunity was to reset the country after almost losing it to Trump and his masters. We came this close. When a former National Security Advisor tales the Fifth when asked if he believes in the peaceful transfer of power, you're in strange new water. In a dead wind. When a sitting president gives the order to let an armed mob past security and encourages them to match on the capital, well, let's hope charges come out of this. Biden good: Bipartisan infrastructure bill in record time. Someone told me that Trump used to be a builder or something and he couldn't do it. Rolling out the vaccines in record time and getting them to people. Jobless claims the lowest they've been in 50 years. More new jobs created than in any other year. Unemployment at 3.9 percent. He put together an extraordinary EU coalition against Russia when they invaded Ukraine. He looks great is a suit and has normal sized man hands unlike Fat Donny Two Scoops. Bad: Harris. I am shocked how terrible she is or at least how awful her optics are. Afghanistan. Good idea, badly executed. Not sure that's totally on him, but the buck stops at his desk. Inflation. This is a tough one. What's to blame? Pandemic, European war, supply chain? Who's to blame? WH? Fed? Corporations raising prices through the roof because they can? Age isn't doing kind things to his mind. To sum up, as I've said many times: good/bad, I'm kind of in the middle and roll with the punches.
  20. Paid $4.25 for gas in NJ today. It seems that gas prices may be coming down too quickly.
  21. Thank, God, he wasn't voted into office. I'm on record saying that Biden is way too old for the office and that he will be a one-term president. Done some things I like, some things I don't. I appreciate that he was handed a complete disaster of a situation. I'm just riding him out. If the reps take the house, I expect the whole thing to just grind to a halt or blow up. Maybe not a bad thing. The current two-party system is a mess and I see no way through it. A viable third party will only come about if one side implodes - Trump vs Desantis could do it - but that would take years. In the interim, I would install term limits for congress and the Supreme Court, consider limiting the power of the president (too much power for one person), and setting up an panel of former presidents to act as an advisors to the current president. Pretty tired of this treadmill of the new guy undoing the work of the last guy only to have his decisions undone by the next guy. I would also suggest that cabinet members be chosen from an equal mix of both sides of the aisle. It's all fun and games to watch the parties chew each other up until you realize that these ass clowns are doing so at our expense. Cheney is interesting. As I said, she's far more conservative than your stud-muffin, Donny Two Scoops, with bigger balls. Not sure why you don't like her. Is it because she isn't a Trump lickspittle like the rest?
  22. That's a lot of questions. Quickly: I used RR as a simple way of saying socially liberal, fiscally conservative. And it has a nice ring to it. Call it moderate of you like. If forced to ID myself, I would simply say: Your Cheney dislike is misplaced as she's about as conservative as they come. Far more conservative than Trump. She's smart enough to recognize the danger that Trump represented - like everyone in his circle - and has enough balls - unlike everyone in his circle - to take him on. Watch the video and ask who should be in congress and who shouldn't be allowed to drive a motor vehicle. As I said, Desantis impresses me as a prick. No big deal when to comes to someone not that bright like Trump, but dangerous as hell in someone smart as Desantis. I think he would divide the country even more and push us to the brink. Not sure I have an answer as to which Rep I like. Or Dem for that matter. The whole thing is a shitshow.
