  2. Wish I had seen this a little earlier padre86, I contacted 3 numbers only one guy got back to me. He was busy, I searched all day yesterday until I had to come home so my wife could work. I even scouted the corn fields with my drone.... last night it snowed I figured the scent n blood is gone... If this ever happens again I will reach out to you, thank you. I spent 80+ dollars on the primos blood tracker HD at cabelas today... Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  3. HI guys just wondering on what scent and why for pre rut? I bought a little doe in estrus gel 2 weeks ago, put out a decoy and scent early last week and I brought in a deer I couldn't see its head but once the wind hit it from the scent it took off so that was to soon for estrus. I've been hunting all week with just foe pee on my boot pads and the does don't mind it and follow on my tracks but no bucks so far.. I have never tried the buck pee... but I do have a mock scrape n drip but it's seen nothing for two weeks maybe three at this point... So what are you using and why?? 4. Same thing happens to me this week. Try your best, I called three dog recovery groups to only get one response that he was busy and to call another group. I have nocturnal nocks so I let my deer sit 2 hours then went looking no blood no hair no nock. I searched two hours in the dark then the next day I searched for 8 hours until I had to watch my kids...I even sent my drone up with permission from land owners to check the corn fields...it snowed last night all hope is lost so at 8 am I left n spent 80+ dollars on primos blood tracker light in hopes if this ever happens again the light might help with the blood. As a hunter accidents like this are possible and do happen ...try your best and don't let guys on here make you feel bad we all took our bow course and if your like me read as much about every aspect of the hunt and try never to wound an animal. Good luck Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

  6. Looked like a lung hit but the arrow stuck. I v hit a deer in the shoulder before and this wasn't that it looked clean, but the arrow stuck. I had nocturnal nocks so I thought I might find her quick once it got dark but no luck, I'm going to do a better tracking job in the am, cold temp should be OK to let her sit over night. 7. Listen guys this isn't my first hunt I'm only asking incase it comes to that. Iv never had use dogs befor but iv heard there are services. Don't jump to conclusions about another hunters abilities. I was just asking. I was going to let her sit over night and hit it in the early am anyways. I was frozen to the bone today. Either way thanks for the input Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

  17. First buck with my bow, I hunt the same tree opening bow just about every year. Well I'm up hunting not seeing much so I decide I'm going to make the move and have coffee. I get into my bag pull out the coffee and wonder if it's going to screw me..well I drink and see nothing so next I want a snack so I hang up my bow and pull out my cookies those short bread pecan cookies I'm munching a way when I here Some noise right to my back left.. first I'm like screw those squires I'm finishing my last cookie but as I take that last bite I see movement that's way bigger than a squire I had to Jam the cookie bag in my pocket grab my bow an in 5 sec stand up n draw on a huge 8 point (20yrds) I smack him he runs 30 yards and I just hear a crash. I'll find the photos n post them he had a huge body I put or rather tried to put him on my Sportsman 500 my atv is all jacked up n wheel spacers 27inc rims he sunk that thing right down I'll find t he picks you guys will like em. 18. First doe with a bow, the night befor was Jameson n chicken wings...hot wings. The next morning I go into the woods n pick a random tree I think looks good. The first thing that happens is I climb to the top with my climber and as soon as I stop my water bottle falls out....shoot but I'm not going down to get it. A little later I pull out my bottle of powder for wind direction n give it a light squish n the top pops off and I got white powder allover....im just shaking my head at this point...then..mind you I start getting gas from the chicken wings..I give up n start farting no deer is coming near me....but low n behold a nice big doe comes in 70 yards out n lays down.....I watch her for what feels like 2 hours wondering if I'll get lucky... she eventually comes slow walking over to my 30yrd marker comes out from behind a tree n I double lung her.runs out to 70 yards and lays down i watch her for an hour then climb down and....have a drink of that water I dropped. That was my first doe with my bow. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  19. Hi Guys im a bit torn, Sat is going to be wet in the afternoon. I have a ground blind coming (not sure where i will put it) and an umbrella for my tree stand (climber). Should i just try to pick a spot and popup the ground blind sat or just Go with my climber? I have multiple trees picked out for climbing so thats where im leaning. Iv been hearing and reading that this is going to be good weather for movement. Also whos going to take a Doe opening day? I'm a bit torn there as well. Considering last years season (i only got one) i think i want meat in the freezer so i will take a Doe opening day.... BUT iv seen a few nice bucks should i hold off on the does for the first few days and try to get a Buck still in a feeding pattern? Was thinking about some light rattling as well? good bad?
  20. Before I bought a range finder I took a roll of string. Rolled it out and marked 10 20 30 with a black mark. Then from the base of my tree I would unroll it and tie a small piece of twine to a branch at each yard marking. This was done a couple months in advance...it worked for me. Honestly I stared to be able to see or guess my marks after a couple years.... but who wants to guess when you have a big boy or doe coming in.... I have since bought a range finder only to find out I'm fairly good at picking out my distances..... better to be safe... Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
  21. Figured I would share.. I about pooped myself seeing him. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
