  1. What he is suggesting is that the government is involved with covering up the murdered children. That the government is probably behind the murder of the children since they want to erase all evidence.  And if you do not believe this you are a blind sheep that needs to wake up.

How much longer is this going to be tolerated on the forum?   Please don’t tell me to use the block button either.  Or any free speech stuff.

I used to think it was another former member, but now I think it’s papas going bonkers in his bunker!!!!!

  2. IMO, i think you should be able to go buy whatever you want anytime you want. I don't see his purchase anything out of the norm for someone that might be looking for home protection or anything like that.....
BUT, how was he able to purchase any type of gun when he was arrested previously for threatening to shoot up a school? You do something like that you should be eliminated from ever being able to purchase a firearm, what is a NICS check actually checking? IMO, he shouldn't have been able to purchase those guns in the first place and should have been arrested again for trying.....Every time there is a shooting we see that laws that are already on the books are not enforced and all the mistakes that were made leading up too it.....
I'd like to know where this kid got the money for two rifles and 1000 rds of ammo. That isn't cheap these days....

It’s really not normal for an 18 year old to need body armor. The guns and ammo sure. Add all three together spells trouble. A quick check by an ATF official may have stopped this. Like I said before if he bought it all at once. If he pieced it together if would be impossible to track.
I’m not 100% sure but the background check are for criminal offenses. He was never convicted of any. They need to have access to mental health issues if they don’t already. Screw that doctor patient confidentiality crap if someone makes a threat like that investigate it diligently.
If he was saving up his money to buy all that stuff he wasn’t as crazy as we think. That takes though and planning it seemed to me he snapped at that moment and went on his rampage.
I heard on the news his grandmother worked at the school do you think she may have been taunting him about how much better her school kids where compared to him? I thought the same thing with the nutjob from sandy hook his mother worked at that school.

  3. I know I will regret getting involved in this discussion but.... I already had arguments with some family members this weekend so I might as well keep the trend going.
I believe that statistics can prove banning guns does not = lower murder rates. I always go back to the argument, if passing laws work, why don't they just pass a law that makes murder illegal?? Answer: because criminals don't care about laws!!! Most murders in our major cities are committed with handguns, and those same cities have the strictest gun laws in the country.
I also strongly object to the idea that a purely defensive item, such as body armor should ever be made illegal. It amazes me how quickly individuals will surrender their rights to emotional. fact less, arguments. Or to the argument of "why would anyone NEED that".
Our rights are not based on the premise of individuals having to show Need.
Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.   Benjamin Franklin

I was reluctant to ask but kinda glad I did. I got some good replies.

  4. i look at my pistol as a way to get me to a real gun. Lol   I bought a judge so i can shoot .410 shot and be sure i hit something.   A bear charges me im bound to get him somewhere in the spray!

I bought the .357 to deer hunt. I’d take a shot at a bear if it was within 20-25 yards.

  5. While body armor stops a handgun round it still can't feel good to take a 9mm or .45 round to center mass. Would it have stopped him??  We will never know.....   Was it confirmed that the security officer hit the shooter with body armor in Buffalo or only that they exchanged fire?  A hand gun is no match for a person armed with a rifle, like you said, even with a 357  you can't hold a group past 30 yds and that isn't in a panic situation....Now, having said that,  I would rather have a handgun against a rifle than nothing at all. At least a teacher would have another option other than begging and trying to shield kids with his/her body.....
I would bet that very few if any of us could hit center mass on a target the distance of a typical school hallway which is much farther than 30 yds at my daughters school with any handgun we would daily carry. But again, i would rather have that than nothing.
I have no idea what the answer is......It isn't gun control, or new laws, that i am sure of....
I mentioned i was at a band concert last week for a friend daughter that is 10. Hundreds of people on the football field and 3 officers there. Two sheriffs and a state trooper. While i am glad they were there, if a shooter with a rifle walked onto the football field and started shooting, or started shooting from the woods, what are those 3 LEO's going to do without a rifle on hand? The shooter can hit quarters or half dollars at those distances and the LEO's would be lucky to hit the broad side of a barn with a 9mm at 100 plus yards....
Wish i had the answers.....The only one i can come up with, is get rid of the evil before it comes out of someone....We always see all the red flags after the fact....that should have been obvious....

I agree it’s a mental health issue. I’m not for any new gun laws they don’t enforce the one we have already or stop criminals or human defects. Your right I don’t know the answer ether, but something needs to be done a fast. You can’t put the blame totally on the left the right had control and did nothing ether.
It just seemed wrong that someone could go and buy two weapons ammo and body armor and no one should question it. If he indeed bought it all at once.

  6. A lot of live fire gun training course require body armor Also the riots last year was a pretty good examples of the police not keeping citizens safe. I was thinking of getting the lite weight armor for my kids backpacks. Why restrict my ability to help keep my kids safe. Do you think criminals are going to stop at the body armor law and say, you know what I will break all the other laws but not this one.

I’m not telling anyone not to protect themselves or loved ones. No criminals and mental patient’s will never follow a law.

  7. I’m in the burbs, with ducks deer and rabbits in my yard ,  with an additional  116 acres in the country . Both kids are on their own a RN here  who owns a home in a suburb and a CPA in Buffalo . The issue is the their  proximity to the city as well as working in it , and one living in Buffalo proper . Also the cities problems will / are bleeding out of city lines .
I have no immediate plans to buy any , although I did get some sweet .357 today .

Well I wish you and the family the best of luck there. Just doesn’t sound like a good environment to raise a family.
I’ve been shooting my .357 all morning while stacking firewood. I can’t get any consistence past 30yrds.

  8. Why exactly shouldn't i be aloud to buy bodyarmor? Not saying i'm going too but i damn well should be allowed too...

For what purpose? Has anyone ever threw on there body armor and do anything legal with it. When are you going to need it? What right does it fall under? These shooting are straight up Mental issues but why make it easier for these human defects to kill.
There was a retired FBI agent on the news the other day explaining how they need to retrain law enforcement to shot for head and limbs not center mass because of the use of bony armor.

  9. Actually I priced out some body amor just yesterday. Rochester is a war zone , RPD is down 150 men, oh they’ll say only 100, because they shifted 50 off of staff to the line . Just had a talk with a friend still working for the FD ( he’s a Capt ) he said you can’t get a cop or an ambulance ( this is the FD that can’t, citizens forget it ) .
The other night a ATV riding a wheelie hit a cop car head on , rider jumped on another ATV and took off, a ,large crowd gathered and took the ATV that hit the cop car …. Cops ordered not to chase . As far as the ATV , those and dirt bikes ride the streets 50 at a time , they’re stolen from the burbs , most riders are armed and they control the streets .
I avoid ,the city at all costs , and when forced to , I go the long route , I also stepped up my carry , and frankly I’m thinking of adding a long gun to the truck .

I know if my daughter gets caught up in some sh!t, most likely I’ll beat the cops by a country mile . While I didn’t buy the BA , when the Gov says no , makes me want to even more .
Oh and the FD now has it, and many ambulance personal wear it , citizens may not be far off…..

    Forgot to quote you nomad

  10. I understand the fire and EMS wearing them and they should be issued., but are we really going to start wearing body armor to go shopping?
I know you’ve said your staying there because your kids don’t want to leave, but is it really someplace they/you want to raise a family. I’m just assuming there heading in that route. It sounds like a sh!thole to bring up a family.I can’t even imagine what the school system is like or a local park.

  11. There’s no red flag that the guy bought two guns and a bunch of ammo at one time. Just go to any public range you’ll see guys unboxing there new weapons and blowing off a few hundred rounds very common. They didn’t say if he bought the weapons, ammo and body armor at the same time, but that’s a definite red flag. I know some will disagree but why should a civilian be aloud to buy body armor for what purpose?

I caught around (25) smallmouth and (1) 12” perch so far this Holliday weekend up in the Adirondacks.  I finally got a “legal” 20-1/2” bass this evening on a 1/8 oz bucktail jig.    She went back in with all the rest of the bass. I am looking for at least a 22” to mount. That was the last 1/8 oz bucktail jig that I had and I lost it on a snag shortly after landing the big bass.

I will have to get by with 1/4 and 1/16 oz jigs on our last morning tomorrow.  Also got 5 or 6 on a top water bait this morning (Zara puppy), and about the same number trolling a silver hot-n-tot after the sw wind picked up.

The perch is in a fish cage at the dock, and if I get another in the morning, I will fillet them for my mother in law.

Is 201/2" just for that lake? I thought it was 15" state wide. I'm getting my little 10' jon boat ready for the 15th Bass or any fish on topwater is a blast.

Rather than spend $40 on Orvis lugs I drove a couple dozen self tapping screws into my felt and I havent lost any in four or five trips! However I'm upgrading for fathers day, my current boots are falling apart

That's what I've been doing for years with the regular soles that come with the korkers.I sold the felt ones on Ebay. These little river rocks aren't as easy on the tex screws as big jetty rocks.

I had the korker interchangeable soles when they first came out . I could never keep the soles in the slot . Especially over broken ground and rocks . . I see they changed them now .

I liked the fact that I could swap out the soles for the beach or jetty's.I never lost one.My friends used the strap on korkers and always lost them unless they taped them on.The only korkers I didn't like where the ones with the knob instead of laces.I tossed them after one season.

  16. Thanks I like the korkers with the interchangeable soles. In saltwater I would blow through four or five sloes before the boots wore out. I’ll order the cleats maybe they’ll last longer in freshwater or I’ll remember to hose them off.

  17. I have a pair of korkers with the snap on soles. When I saltwater fished and the cleats wore out I would use tex screws in the regular soles that came with them. That worked great on jetties but not on these river rocks.I reordering some gear and need to know which soles work best felt[I never used them before] or the cleats.

I hate rainy days I spend to much money.
