    We were all smiles by the time the weekend was over. 3 for 4 on bucks .. The 4th guy choked on a big-big buck and blamed the gun. We shot it at lunch and it was fine. It was a good hunt !

    DIY .. I did a guided hunt 2 yrs ago. Wasn't what I'd anticipated. We were in the right area at the right time. Essentially, a guide had put up a walled tent and had a horse corral built way up on BLM land and it pushed all the elk down to us. We spent 2 days on top of the mtns and it was a waste. Thankfully we bailed on that idea.

    My outlook has changed regarding doe harvest. A doe with fawns gets a free pass from me. The point was driven home again a couple weeks ago while my daughter was sitting with me and whispering as loud as she could "don't you dare shoot her, she has babies"!! I have zero issue with someone else taking a doe with fawns, it's simply my personal presence. I'm all for harvesting doe .. Just prefer to harvest when i believe the doe is solo ..

    I agree on varying amounts of activity .. It's cyclical without a doubt. The only caveat I'd add is that we've had success from stands where a deer was nowhere near the camera. I've got cameras on 3 properties and they're all definitely within gun range and most within bow range of a stand .. There's no sense not to place them strategically where you can immediately utilize the most recent information. I'm hunting Indiana this week. 1st sit I had this giant torment me for an hour .. Ohh so close .. Haven't seen him since ... Where'd he go ??

    Location .. If you're not in .. You're out !! My friend hunted 250 yds from me this AM and saw not a deer. I saw 2 giants, a couple beauties and a wad of does. Tonight .. My son saw 35 deer and I saw very few ... I've also included a snippet from my buddy .. They were 150 yds apart ..
