I should add, I have a place in Greene County, near Westerlo, I can meet and introduce the pup.
And... despite the poodle thing, he gets along great with most pets, including our two cats and other dogs. Just thought I should clarify.

It's been a long while since I posted here. I apologize for "just dropping in," and if this is not appropriate of course, mods please delete. I don't mean to offend or trample any rules.
I have a beautiful, intelligent, loving, sweet, gentle, loyal Long-Hair German Shepherd. I love him more than any creature I've known in my life. He wakes me up every morning rubbing his face against mine and cooing love noises. He is an amazing dog. He is 5 years old, intact, and has had extensive training.
Unfortunately, he HATES my neighbor's poodle (as do I, along with the neighbor). And he has now twice broken loose and attacked the dog. We live in a small neighborhood in the suburbs of NYC (which I also hate, but my work ties me), and these people regard me as a total redneck pariah. So... there is now talk of legal action. And I really need to find him a new home. It breaks my heart, more than I can express. I'm reaching out to the venues/friends/places I know where there might be kindrid souls, good people who might want and be able to love and care for such a dog.
There is of course no money thing here, for the right home I will deliver him and whatever stuff we have of his (bed, leashes, food, toys... he would love the continuing scents etc.). All I want is to find him a loving home.
Please reply or message me if you think you might be interested, or know someone who is.

Just thought I'd follow up here. I was at Rich's today, they are definitely up and running as usual. Apparently they dropped their land line phone (as have many people, including me at home). You can reach them on their cell, which is (518) 755-9901.

No, that's a different shop. I've never dealt with them, do they process deer?
I think the drive-in is still there. At least I hope so. ?
Edit: I meant to add, Rich's shop was/is off Maple Road, up near 403. Technically probably in Westerlo.

Thanks, that's good to know. A bit of a drive for me (I'm toward the NW corner of Greene), but if Rich has closed it may be the best option.

Been a while, forgive me, life has been challenging this last two years. Anyway, wondering if anyone knows what's going on with Rich's in Greenville? I can't get anyone on the phone, many attempts. Did he shut down?
Anyone know a processor in that area?

I thought there was no "season" on coyotes? I thought you could shoot them 365/24/7 with anything. ? Did I just imagine that all this time?

I love shotguns. Of the 40 or so long guns I have, about a dozen are shotguns. Some doubles, some break singles, several pumps. I do not care for semi-autos. The only semi-auto long guns I own are Ruger 10/22s (I have six of them), none are even remotely stock, I find them fun to tinker with. But I wouldn't rely on one for much other than shooting squirrels. I've had too many guns jam on me, I don't care to risk it.
My all-time favorite shotgun is this Win 12. Gorgeous aftermarket stock and of course the gun has never once FTF. Other than my Citori, it's my go-to for trap. It's just an awesome piece of kit. I have zero desire to own a semi-auto shotgun.

Hi Folks,
Been a while since I've been here, I hope everyone is doing well.
I have a question. I've been getting out some rifles getting ready for deer season. I pulled my Remington 03-A3 (it's a sporterized gun) out of the sock just now, and this thing fell out. Uh... What the heck is it? I mean, it looks kinda familiar, but I can't for the life of me figure out why. I'm sure it's obvious and simple to the folks here, who are much more knowledgeable than me. Would appreciate any help. Reluctant to fire the gun without knowing why this would fall out of the sock (it's otherwise a gorgeous example and a sweet shooter).

In Greene? I have land in Greene, PM me if you like.
One problem you may have is that often when land is gifted to a town etc. the grantor puts restrictions on the deed (like, can never be sold, etc.). If the owner never responded to you, they may have been opposed to your stated goals etc. Interesting situation.

Thanks for the replies. I had a feeling there might be some opinions here.
I grew up in a racing family (Funny Cars). We had a pretty big garage at our shop, and a 2-car garage at home, and there were always cars being worked on. My dad had Craftsman tools almost exclusively. Some Mac, no Snap-On that I recall, too expensive (although friends who were full time mechanics all seemed to at least have a Snap-On box). I don't think I ever had a Craftsman tool fail. I have HF ratchets that are absolute garbage. Loose, slip if pushed hard, just junk. The wrenches seem ok, although I have some that have developed a little rust over the years.
All my boxes are Craftsman, some over 20 years old (one over 50), the others between 5-10 years old. They made several different levels of boxes, some with roller bearings, some not, etc. I have some of each (I have at least 6 boxes, some hold gun stuff). I don't think I'll ever need to buy another box. But I'm missing a few wrench sizes and some sockets, and it's disappointing that I now can't get replacements of equal quality. I suspect the used market will skyrocket now.

Kind of far afield from hunting, but, well, one has to maintain his hunting vehicle, no?
I hadn't been in a Lowes lately, but my son and I stopped in one this weekend. Big Craftsman display. My son (15 yo) immediately honed in on the poor quality of the tool chests. He noted that the joints and general finish on the Kobalt chests was much better.
I have a fair amount of old Craftsman tools (and chests). I always thought of them as sort of the minimum quality one would want for mechanics tools, but fine for a weekend warrior. The old wrenches are like new still, the chests still solid. I looked at the new wrenches - made in China. I'll reserve comment for now, would like to hear opinions, and this is about the only place I knew where people have any sense....

OK, that looks like a consensus.
A couple of questions, though. Mainly, why? And do you have experience with the Tri-Star? Or is it just a loyalty thing (not to discount that, I believe strongly in loyalty where it is due)?
Anyway, I'm opening up my list a bit. Charles Daly Superior, Monte Carlo Trap Special (Beretta made), SKB Century Trap....

If you're talking about NYS government, I can certainly agree you have a point. Comrade Cuomo and his lackies in the legislature (and the AG's office) are doing everything they can to attack gun owners, sellers, manufacturers, etc. And the hacks they appoint to the courts are lending a hand.
So, Dick's could say, "We will no longer sell firearms, ammo, etc., in NY State." I would understand that, and let it be a lesson to the electorate (sadly, most of whom would agree).
And clearly there are other states in the same boat.
The Obama administration issued all kinds of anti-gun rules. But we're thankfully not living under that regime any more.
I think the people running Dick's are plain and simple "liberals", more accurately, authoritarian socialists. Like so many other large American corporations (how the hell did we get here!?). It's not just that they are bailing on this market, they have hired anti-Second Amendment lobbyists to lobby for gun control laws in DC. !
I only ever bought one gun from Dick's, and I immediately regretted it. But I did buy a lot of ammo there. OK. Fine. More business for the LGS. That's better anyway. But let's not harbor any illusions about who these people are. They will destroy this country if they can.

OK, this may be the wrong forum, but I know there's a lot of knowledge here.
Moving from misc guns we've been using for trap, thinking of one step up. Can't afford a Citori. Looking at single shot guns. I can get a new Tri-Star T-15 variant or a used Browning BT-99 for about the same price. Which would you choose?

Nice, I've always wanted one. My local gunsmith, very highly regarded, once said to me that he thought the Marlin 39 was one of the finest rifles ever made. GLWS.
