  1. Between food and bedding. That’s my strategy early season. I know of a handful of crab apple trees within 100yrds of where the best bedding area is. So as long as the wind stay likes it’s supposed to I’ll be sneaking into that spot to catch them before the apples.
  2. Yep got out of work at 7 in Cooperstown and my Jeep had frost on it.
  3. Right there with you I had 37 at my house this morning.
  4. Going to try keep this as up to date as possible this year. I’ve scouted a bunch of pieces since last winter and have been letting cameras soak most of the summer. I’ve got 3 bucks I’m targeting that I’ve personally seen and 1 I’ve only heard rumors about but will see if I can get on sign from it. seasons right around the corner and have some last minute things to finish up and practice some more with my climbing setup so I have the least amount of screwups on opening day. Only have a couple goals this year. 1 is to get my father on a decent buck or just able to get into the woods, hopefully get a buck with my bow big enough for a shoulder mount, improve on my outdoor/hunting skills some more, and spend sometime with friends and family enjoying what we love. Below are the 3 big main bucks I’m hoping to track down this year. The wide 7 I had an encounter with last year. can’t wait for the chest match to begin. Good luck to all those going out this year.
  5. He is none as the woohoo bucks because that’s what the guys heard when I found him. Lol
  6. Never really measured a buck before I got 128 4/8
  7. Just got him home and he’s in his new spot
  8. Picking it up at 6 after the kids sports are done.
  9. Had a missed call yesterday while I was sleeping before I went to work last night and my gun buck is done so hoping I can get time to go pick him up today.
  10. @BizCT I don’t know what the weather is going to be by you Friday and Saturday but they are calling for 53 for the high and 40 for a low. Hopefully it’s the same and you can get out with those temps. Should get them up and moving early.
  11. That’s the nice thing you can customize them to have what you want on them. I like those straps I may upgrade to something similar next year.
  12. There’s others on the market. Don’t remember what my friend uses but it’s not a tetherd and cost him 300. He bought the XOP platform and same sticks I did.
  13. @UpStateRedNeck my setup is the XOP Vanish with the mini XOP locking sticks. Last year i stealth stripped everything minus the after market steps. I ran 2 cable aiders on my lower sticks to get me the extra height. I would just bring a ratchet strap to secure the sticks to the stand. Seats, cables, sticks and buckles all stealth stripped. I’m 250lbs and I only use one strap on the stand with and never had a fear of falling out or not holding me. Never flexed on me or felt unsafe and is extremely quite. Will say the XOP finish on the stand sucks and will start to wear quickly. Seat isn’t the best I’ve been on but isn’t horrible I do a lot of standing so I like that it flips over and gives be a cushion to lean against. Typical stand backpack harness they suck so upgraded those. Make sure you have a good harness and lineman’s belt. Loved the setup lightweight and ability to get into just about any tree. Sat from 5’ -20’ last year and average setup time was 10mins. Multiple times walked a mile or more with it on my back. However there was some things I needed to change up. Changes for this year is I took apart the connecting handle and brackets to lighten up the setup some more. (No longer locking sticks) I bought a couple more after market steps to finish off my other 2 sticks. Added a bow holder midway through last year and a quiver holder. Still have to tape up all the after market steps because they make to much noise if they hit each other. I also am ditching the ratchet strap and bought their j-hooks to secure the sticks to my stand. I got a stick attachment from a friend to help me when I climb this year. (Keeps my last stick on my stand so I can just grab it while I climb) Also didn’t like the cable aiders so i ditch r those. I Didn’t like coming down in the dark trying to find a place for my foot in the dark. Now I set my sticks on the stand this year actually makes a platform with the seat to place a bag or other gear on. Parts: XOP sticks and stands, jhooks , stealth strips, KMHS bow holder(NY company), back pack straps are off an old alps bag and quiver holder is just a bolt I put in the stand works for my elite brand quiver. Hunting beast gear has one for quick connect quivers. anything else you have questions about let me know. There are better stands out there but at a lot higher price tag. If I had the money I would go with the beast stand and sticks myself. I just can’t make a $1000 purchase on a stand and sticks.
  14. Yes in the middle of something right now but I can give you a run down and take some photos for you.
  15. Hopefully I can get a good one and can get it out to you.
  16. It’s getting closer this weather isn’t helping with my patience for the season. We are looking at high 30s low 40s Thursday night into Friday morning
  17. Should be able to rent a dozer for a lot cheaper than that. Even if you can’t run one bet you can find and offer them 30/hr to run it. Shouldn’t take more that a day or 2 with a decent dozer operator. Good luck with the project.
  18. Yea last years gun buck I took was 6.5-7.5 based on people sending me photos of him over the last 4 years and I new as soon as I saw his body he was old. His head looked like he was crossed with a horse.
  19. Can you get a dozer up there? Get a mid size dozer dropped off just push it off.
  20. Was just talking to my wife about it this morning where we both were when it happened and couldn’t believe it was 21yrs ago.
  21. Be careful with dish network they’ve screwed over a bunch of people I know. Give you a good deal to start and then triple it out of nowhere. my parents got rid of them and went to a smart tv with roku and have there tv services on that.
