Swamp_bucks

Only time I think it bothers is if it’s repeatedly going into there bedding areas they use for summer and fall. I have a spot they are using it now and sign shows all fall as well. So once august hits I’m out of it until I want to hunt.

Anyone here have kids on the Webster team? My nephew is on it and I was told after tonights game they are only 2 wins away from being in the state championship game to compete for regionals for Williamsport.

Glad your ok. Make sure you replace that harness I wouldn’t trust it with another fall.

Went to New Paltz today. She said it is maybe number 5 on her list. Just wasn’t to impressed with their communication department. She just felt uncomfortable the entire time. She loved the area and the scenery but she didn’t even want to stay and eat. Just wanted to get back home so she could go to work tonight. oswego set the bar very high for her expectations of what she wants from a college and the surrounding area.

Nope still out. Supposed to be back by 11 tonight but hoping sooner.

We are out of power. Had a huge quick storm come through. Some areas had estimated wind of 109. Guessing we are out because they are fixing lines somewhere since my road didn’t get hit to bad. storm lasted here for maybe 10mins

My wife and daughter said thanks for the recommendation. The service was excellent and food even better. Also looks like she really enjoyed the campus as well.

So I was told that as of 9/1 I can no longer carry concealed in stat parks and state forests. Anyone have information on this would be great. Still looking up an article on it.

wife and daughter are touring SUNY Oswego Saturday and are looking for a place to eat dinner before they head home if anyone has suggestions. Daughter and I will be touring SUNY New Paltz on Tuesday. Looking for a place to eat for lunch before we head back home. Really think New Paltz will be the school she falls in love with seems to have everything she’s looking for. Any info on the area would be greatly appreciated.

Getting there

Was wondering what do you think the chances of a 4.5yr + buck being harvested by a hunter in NY? clearly it happens but not often. My guess would be 15% of bucks that reach 4.5 or older would ever be harvested by hunters. It would be interesting to know. Not many make it to 4.5 for multiple of reasons.

Well I ended up getting permission from the wife to spend the extra money and went with a Tactacam reveal x. I’m going to save up and look into the cell link cam and maybe set that system up in PA.

For those of you who get big bucks on cam during the summer frequently year after year. How much growth can the average buck gain from now until they are hard horned?

Simple solution put on an addition

My buddy and I just bought a spotting scope each. They are cheaper and we didn’t want to spend a lot since we won’t use them a ton. But it comes with a tripod, carrying bag, phone mount and lens covers. Has a bunch of reviews on Amazon and 4.5 star rating.

By the time June 1st comes all the following years sign is covered. From march until about then all the scrapes,rubs,beds, poop any sign put down in the fall is still pretty well preserved. not really worried about pushing them out of a spot during summer. Summer sign also doesn’t tell me what I want or need to know. Trail cameras and driving around tell me what bucks are in the area and with my scouting all done I know where to hit the best bedding,food, rut spots for the fall. some spots I don’t bother scouting because they prove year after year I already know how to hunt them. By June 1st I have roughly 60 spots picked out on stateland to hunt and may only hunt 10-15.

Those 2 bucks from last month are getting big quick. Pictures aren’t the greatest but the smaller 1 is a 7 I had a close encounter with last year. I know his swamp is 1 mile down the road and I’m guessing the other one is in the swamp near where he’s living now. Was a 3rd buck about the same size as those 2 just couldn’t get a picture.

Here and there I’m usually done by June 1st minus trail cameras. I think we are going to pa at some point to do a day scout of a spot we hunted last year and get it dialed it in a little bit more.
