I have had 2 Kubotas-smaller than what the OP is looking for. They have been great tractors. I recommend them highly. JD makes nice tractors as well. The only piece of advice I'll give is in regards the smaller brands. A tractor that is 55hp and cabbed is a serious investment. I have no doubt that Kioti and other brands are good tractor-but I've seen them at some dealers that are nothing more than "Mom and Pop" operations. I was wonder how long they will stay in business, what iare the repair knowledge and facilities- you may be very handy mechanically-I do all my my own maintenance and small repairs- but what is there is a major problem? Can that dealer handle replacing a transmission under warranty? If they can't, how close is the nxt dealer that can? Will

Don't get out much anymore. When I was young and serious about killing squirrels I used a 16 gauge Ithaca 37. Over the last few years I take one of my .22 handguns and a 20gauge Remington 1100, so that I'm ready for a grouse or a turkey. Will

Lived for his Car and Driver columns when I was in college. Will -
I was a senior in HS when I had mine done. Took a week off from school and was a ck to normal before then. Good luck. Will

One trip to BPS in Auburn... Had to explain to the gun clerk that there was a difference between CCI large rifle primers and CCI benchrestargw rifle primers...turned me off! Will

I shot a 46lb male a few years ago. My trapper buddy who catches quite a few each year, said that is about as big as any he catches. Will

Trailer recommendation
Will_C replied to crappyice's topic in ATV's , UTV's, Dirtbikes & Snowmobiles
Another vote for a pressure treated floor. As someone who has owned several trailers, I would suggest getting the biggest and heaviest one you have the vehicle to tow. A trailer is one of those items that you will find use for that you never thought you had. Also, get at least 13" tires. The 8,10, and 12" tires wear like butter! -
Beards ? Do you grow one for hunting season ?
Will_C replied to turkeyfeathers's topic in General Chit Chat
Unfortunately my beard comes very gray. With it, I look 10 years older. Without, I look 10 years younger. At my age, I need the 10 years younger. Will -
I use a pack as well. 95% of my deer hunting is from a tree stand, and I tend to stay put. It's a lot easier with some stuff- extra clothes, water, coffee, etc. its a far cry from my first years hunting, when I would walk out the door and hunt the hill behind my parents house. A box of slugs in a jacket pocket, a knife on my belt, and a drag rope in the game pouch of my jacket! Will

Wife's co-worker fell out of a tree yesterday setting up a stand
Will_C replied to Core's topic in General Hunting
We always hang ours with 2 or 3 guys. My. Rotherham has a collapsible ladder which is a great help. We have also tie the stand to an ATV or tractor sometimes. Will -
That is my kind of day. Do it a lot in the early spring-March and early April when it still isn't nice enough to work outside. Will

Another happy Honda 2000 user here. Even if you need a bigger unit for the house, you'll find plenty of uses for a Honda, and they are near about indestructible, can barely hear them run,and use little fuel. i have a neighbor that uses a 6500 watt generator a few hours a day during an outage, but turns that off at night-the Honda can run his furnace blower, a freezer, and a refrigerator all night for a gallon of gas.

I am against AR. I think it drives some casual hunters away, and we need all we can get on our side. There is a tendency to look down on the casual hunter, but I want them to support us-if we want to keep our hunting heritage, we need them. Will

looking for a gunsmith in the southern tier
Will_C posted a topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Any recommendations for a gunsmith in the Southern Tier? I am between Binghanton and Elmira. Thanks, Will -
I put in a half acre of winter rye and a half acre of oats yesterday. I over seeded it with turnips and radish. The half acre I planted it radish, turnips, and beets on 8/7 is up about 4-6 inches. Will

Burris or Leupold
Will_C replied to rotorooter23's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
I just buy Leupolds. Not saying other scopes are as good or even better, I just never have disappointed with any of my Leupolds. Will -
We use ours for jerky. Worth just for that, although we have dried bananas-there are a tasty treat. Will

Have a half acre in Brassica planted-need to plant an acre of oats this weekend. September, time to bush hog the fields. Check stands in October (don't bow hunt). Sight guns in early November Oh, I better buy a license! Will

Time to toss some free seed around!
Will_C replied to Adkhunter1590's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
This is the second year I have used their products. Used the brassica blend, beets and sweets, and some radish last year. Couldn't evaluate the seed- had terrible dry conditions. This year I planted rapeseed, radish, beets, and turnips. They're off to good start-good germination. Will -
New Sprayer Suggestion for 2017
Will_C replied to LetEmGrow's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
I don't know if it is much of an upgrade from what you have, but I have been happy with a $200 26 gallon model ATV model I got from Northern Tool. I put it on a skid and use it out of the back of my UTV. I have had it 3 years. i noticed in my research that more money gets you better quality hoses and fittings. I have to tighten the connections on mine every year, and have keep fresh Teflon tape on it. I am happy with mine for the 60-70 gallons annual use it gets.If I had 8-10 acres in plots, I would have considered a better unit. Will -
Load for a .243, 7mm-08, .308, .250 Savage, .30-06 and a .357 magnum. I used to use Nosler Ballistic Tips but have switched to Accubonds. 90 grains in the .243, 140 in 7mm-08, 150 in the .308 and .30-06, and 100 in the Savage. i would guess I have killed 15 deer with the 06, 15 with the 7-08, 7 or so with the .243, 2 or 3 with the .308, and 2 last year with the .250-it was new to me last year. i shoot 158 grain Hornady in my .357, over 16 grains of H-110. I use a Sagen saw to split the pelvis. I still core the anus first, but I find splitting the pelvis makes it easier for to do a clean job. The saw goes into my "death bag" -a gallon size Zip-loc that holds my Buck Vanguard, saw, gloves, a small drag rope, zip ties for securing tags and some baby wipes for clean up. Will

I have bought things from there for many years. I pick and choose-usually buy things that I am familiar with that they have on sale. Picked up a Browning Hydro fleece parka for $130-they had sold for years for $300 and never seen them on sale. Will

Great day for the boy-he will remember it always. Great caliber choice too. Will
