  1. Got to the stand about 6. Started peeling off cloths right away. Definitely overdressed for 64 degrees. Had a nice shower to dampen those noisy leaves. Big bodied deer past by the stand not more than 15 minutes into the set. Heard tremendous thicket crashing behind me for a good hour. Several fawns surfaced from behind, eating ash and maple leaf new fall. They came in on my scent side. The winds could have been caring my scent right over the top of them. They worked their way into thicker wooded area. Mr red fox and an almost white skunk went by to say hello too. Good woodchuck hunting day, as many were out grazing on the legumes. Never checked the regulations to see if they could be bow hunted, so we passed.
  2. Don't you mean fuller figure, wooly.
  3. Yes and the bucks are so much nicer to process. Those fatty doe.
  4. "The other hunters should know what target they are shooting at and beyond!" For this reason, I feel compelled to wear orange socks and undies,.
  5. Beautiful shot wooly! I erased my editorial, LOL.
  6. If this is one of your past times, please show us your others, LOL.
  7. I wish you good luck in finding him and please keep us informed tomorrow.
  8. Windy 44 degrees. Quarter past seven, Watched a fair size antlered buck locked down on a doe as she fed right in the open. Sat there grinding at the bit, within 50 yards, of them. Hoping they would stick around till legal light. They didn't. What torcher!
  9. Congrats on the land addition. Haven't had a good corn fritter in, I can't tell you when.
  10. Thanks grow! I was 20 yard shy of the biggest doe I have ever seen, in my life this morning. She was 20 yard shy of being in the freezer this afternoon, LOL. A birthday deer, something I have never achieved.
  11. I agree. I also believe the communication phases change. I do believe doe tend do chose who they breed with. This more in likely doesn't happen, most of the time, but the communication part is there.
  12. Was strong first of the month, then by the 9th, nothing. Just started back up, night of the 21th. The first, in a series of breeding phases ended. Scrapes start up now, suggest the main event is coming, soon. Now I'm talking here. Different locations across the state, vary, I'm sure. I might add, the first scrapes used, are not being used, this go around. Different bucks. Rubs, I have no comment on yet.
  13. High pressure, with a light NW wind, (most of the time) Deer are finally moving in legal light, thirteen deer to be exact. What a beautiful day to be enjoyed!
  14. See grow, should of been out there, LOL. So the question lies; If you were out and that deer would have walked in front of you, in range, would you have shot, given the weather conditions?
  15. Deer moved here also. More of a observation sit for me. Nasty NE wind driven rain. Good night to wash the hunting cloths.
