Better if the lines were made out of nickle.

Have that vehicle undercoated and never regret it. Make sure they coat the the brake & fuel lines under and on the firewall real good as their the first to rot out. I have the vehicle put on the hoist after the first coating. They usually miss spots, and they hit it a second time or I'm out of the deal. I know some Kia's are dipped, so it flows into areas, spray won't reach.

too wet to till
landtracdeerhunter replied to 2012_taco's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Quite common to see these cracks the drought left here, in the undisturbed soils. Pic was taken 8-18-18. Narrow side of my hand will fit right in with ease. -
What elevation you hunting at ?
landtracdeerhunter replied to turkeyfeathers's topic in General Chit Chat
About 600 feet. Sometimes, I'll drop below that with a dry Fall, hunting the ditches.. -
You can put any type of a good protein source in front of a deer, this late in the game and they will consume it.

At $35 for 50# of the fancy verses $8 for bin run oats, I know what my choice would be, LOL. The difference will pay for the fertilizer.
-
How did the side by side comparison work out for you? Would you spend the extra $ for the fancy oats again?

Half of tree stand falls were fatal, 100% were preventable

Do they cover the safety harness dangers after a fall, using a body harness in the guide? Hanging Harness Syndrome. A couple screw in tree steps on person come in very handy. -

How About Some Rain
landtracdeerhunter replied to landtracdeerhunter's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
This pic was taken this morning, even after a 2 inch + rainfall of last night. Bond memories of the drought that still are showing on the heavier soils. -
How About Some Rain
landtracdeerhunter replied to landtracdeerhunter's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Hoping for dryer weather for you all. We received a lot of rain Friday night. NWS. posted flood warnings for my area. Not seeing flooding, but some standing water in poor drainage areas. I understand south of me, by only a few miles were hit much harder. Area is relatively flat so we don't get the flash flooding. -
Germination question
landtracdeerhunter replied to Chef's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
This is the one I just bought. Use to get these on farms auctions years ago, when their were some small farms left for like $10. -
Germination question
landtracdeerhunter replied to Chef's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
One advantage is the rodents don't chew a hole in the bag, LOL. I had that happen this year and didn't inspect the bag. Real good coverage in straight line. I just picked up a vintage metal spreader out of Cyclone Indiana for $19. Collectors item. -
Clovers, lime and fertilizer.

I know this is a six year old thread, but what the heck. Yes deer eat dandelions. They also eat the purple silk on the end of the thistle blossom, seed pod. Many other weeds are consumed by the deer population. The only thing I wish they would eat is rag weed. With these rains, it growing very well, this season. -
I have a Thomson something or other. Big scope. I used open sites for years and always got a good view. Then my son said I needed a scope on my guns; so now......................

Deer are in the oaks and hickories this evening here. Nuts are going fast with little to none in the trees and on the ground.

How About Some Rain
landtracdeerhunter replied to landtracdeerhunter's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Sounds like you're to wet. Ground moisture is holding it's own here. Nice light rain showers today right into this evening. It amazes me how much water this soil can suck up after a prolong drought. Hope they lift the flood watch for ya. -
Heads up literally tonight. Meteor shower
landtracdeerhunter replied to turkeyfeathers's topic in General Chit Chat
Perseids show last till around August 26. Peak was last night with 50 - 75 shower members per hour. I only seen 5 in 30 minutes.
