  1. Windy out here. A lot of movement early. Bucks gone into cover by 6:30.
  2. This is why I don't enter the woods in low light, low wind conditions. I just can't get in without deer warnings and tails flying up in the air. I think it better to stay out, then to bump into nocturnal early.
  3. Another fine day to be out. Overcast skies with a bit of drizzle, maybe lake effect. Light west breeze. Fun time of the year to be a deer hunter.
  4. Here is one picture from that three year old ,I wrote about above. He backed off here. I used no scents, just a doe bleat call. Dangerously close. Sorry about the distorted pic. but you can make him out.
  5. Harris did capture blue states. Although she won New York, her number were lower than they should have been. She nearly lost New Jersey, which would have been a Hugh upset. Minn. Was closer than it should of been . Wahl on the ticket was suppose to help, but just barely captured his home state of Minn. With the writing on the wall, the last nearly 4 years, Biden Harris have defeated Americans as well as their own party. They have no one to blame, but themselves.
  6. Yesterday afternoon, As soon as the thermals dropped, deer moved. My grandson by my side. I doe bleated a 3 year old right up the blow down, blind we were sitting behind. Glad we got the opportunity to experience it together. In all of my deer hunting years, I have never had a 3 year old buck this close to me. He was working his way around the rear of us. I had to move my lite phone back and forth to back him off. I had my bow in hand, and would have shot, if he became to aggressive . Eventually, he walked out of the field. This time of the year, these bucks mean business. Be careful!
  7. 78 degrees out here. Windy. Like early September weather. Sweat bees are annoying..
  8. Nice and warm out this morning. Down to my shirt sleeves. Deer seemed to enjoying it too. Been some active deer movement, between 10 and 2.
  9. Was going tomorrow, but town halls closed for the National Election. Will go Wednesday. Never a problem getting two in our WMU..
  10. Nice to have it over there. I don't miss it one little bit.
  11. One of the best Sundays in years here. Took the grand kids with me for the afternoon hunt. We had an action packed afternoon, just falling short of complete. ( No harvest) Cherish every moment they can spend a field with me. Their going to be some great future hunters.
  12. Wish you good luck fasteddie. Hope you come up with a combination that works for you.
  13. Lot at stake in this election. Voting is very important and the right of all Americans. You have four years of proven; or four years ( nearly) of open boarders, high crime rates, record inflation, high job losses, Afghanistan nightmare, Record deficit spending. The list just keep growing. You choose.

  15. Frost on the ground, and bucks are moving. Grandchildren built a new blind yesterday. Sat there this am. Long story short, ended up passing on a 3 year old at 40 yards broadside. Thought long and hard on that one
  16. Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour. Means it gets light an hour earlier in the morning and dark an hour earlier in the evening. Hello 5 am. Again.
  17. Forth day of wind. Little chilly around the edges. Plenty of time for venison left.
  18. Great sit in the wind protected area. Things are really cooking out here. Bucks are pushing the doe right out of the field, now. Wind or no wind, the boys are back in town.
  19. Today is All Saints Day. Time to grind in for some real deer hunting adventures.
  20. No panic here. If we're all educated on the subject, this should be a short lived thread.
  21. Always like Halloween. Happy Halloween all
  22. Live from the field: Morning and afternoon sits are on top right now. Going to start 11 to 2 sits shortly. I have good luck with those times, for several years. Bucks are in full checkout mode. Come in the field scattering the doe. We even had a lock down yesterday.
  23. Another great day to enjoy the sunrise, with the mild temperatures. Enjoy it while it last; next week, colder with snow. A few visitors stop by to say hello.
