    Was there a stand-down order?

    Great point.

Just like Barry and Hillaries screw up with Benghazi that allowed our embassy to be destroyed and four Americans murdered with NO retaliatory strike against the militants, we may never know the truth.  Imagine what the outrage against the police leaders would be if this is true and that they could have save all if not some of those innocent lives?

I am confident in saying that the ARMED deputy at the school at the time of the shooting is a COWARD, stand down order or not.

  2. The police are under no obligation to protect you.  Add to that tragedy  the government prohibits your right in many states and places to carry a concealed weapon to protect yourself.  The same government that surrounds itself with Secret Service, police and access to carrying concealed weapons.

I've had a NRA Visa card since 1993, well guess what ? The antis pressured that bank to not renew them and end the program . Our cards will expire in ‘21, but we’re canceling now and cashing in our 68,000 points .

Thank you.  I long ago severed my business with VISA because they are a sponsor of the National Football League whose  "kneeling employees" disrespect our country, veterans and police, while in supporting criminals like Mike Brown and Freddy Grey.  Discover, Master Card and American Express get the job done along with that old time favorite cash.

If you think it’s only about AR’s and the like your wrong they hate your 870 and 9mm just as much .

You are correct.  All the gun haters keep calling AR's "assault weapons", when they are not  Either they are ignorant of the FACT or are trying to con the other gun haters.  The  AR is a semi-auto rifle that looks like an M16A1 which many of us carried in defense of the Constitution (Second Amendment included) or who are intelligent enough to know about different types of firearms.

Give some thought to joining the NRA or other pro gun group, yes they’re going to bug you for money, that’s how it works , yes I may not agree with all they say, just like I don’t agree with everything my wife says.

I support the NRA because what other organization supports the Second Amendment and your right to peacefully possess firearms?  Sadly the frauds of the media and anti-gun organizations failed to be truthful in the fat that in 1871 the NRA was founded to be an assistant to the US government in training Americans in the use of firearms for military service to protect our great nation. The NRA still has many firearm training and safety (Eddie Eagle for children gun safety) programs.  What have the anti-gun organizations done for America?

The NRA is the anti-gun advocates number one enemy.  For those who do not support  the NRA, efforts to protect the Second Amendment, just remember what they do and consider the Bible passage of "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."

  4. If a teacher is armed they must be trained, capable of knowing enough hand to hand combat to repel some violent student from taking their weapon from them, AND most importantly they must be able to aim at and kill an armed assailant without hesitation.

The last part where "they must be able to aim at and kill an armed assailant without hesitation" is the most critical.  Anyone who had the displeasure of using deadly force in combat, law enforcement or self defense knows it is a dark feeling to kill another human being even though it was necessary.

  5. Do the gun haters who want to ban private ownership of guns realize that "if" guns are illegal  that the same government that goes after illegal drugs (the major cause of gun violence and causes many more deaths than firearms) will  go after  illegal guns?  So right now how successful is that war on illegal drugs?

At least President Trump is advocating for armed guards in schools.  Long overdue.  No need for more taxes.  The cost could be taken from foreign aid to countries who hate America, excessive dues given to the United Nations and frauds on welfare.

  6. Sad and senseless murder of a family member and friend because of a stupid and irresponsible idiot with a gun.

"The man, whose identity was not released because he was not immediately charged, said he then fired two shots at the brown and gray movement in the trees. The shooter later called police after he realized he had shot the hunter and not a wild animal."

Anyone who shoots at "brown and gray movement in the trees" should not be allowed to have a gun.

  7. Definition of an AR-15:  A semi-automatic rifle that  only looks like, but is not an M16A1.

In the old day we took military surplus Springfields and Mausers to sporterize them.  The difference was only a stock, that's was it.  So if AR-15's are outlawed they can make an M16A1 type drop in stock for Ruger 10/22, BAR's, Ruger Mini 14 and all the other semi-automatic rifles.   What will the gun haters say about that?

  8. Quote

Insanity Is Doing the Same Thing Over and Over Again and Expecting Different Results

Everytime there is a shooting, we usually hear the same  protests for more gun control and the media questioning the goverment for not legistlating more gun laws.  The news reported that 100 students from the high school of the shooting went to protest for more gun control.  Do they really believe that more gun control will reduce or eliminate gun violence? Sadly so many of these gun haters are ignorant of the root causes of gun violence that goes way beyond the availability of firearms.

The main common denominators of the root causes of the majority of gun violence is found in:

    • The failed war on drugs where drug dealers get off easy and mentally ill users do not get real rehabilitation.
    • The failed mental health system that has allowed the violently mentally ill loose in society.
    • The failed corrections system that has released violent sociopaths like William "Cuomo's SAFE Act Poster Boy" Spengler back into society to murder again.
    • The failed family that has been infected with social programs.

Apparently it is true that "Insanity Is Doing the Same Thing Over and Over Again and Expecting Different Results" if all these people want is more gun control and continue to ignore fixing the root causes.

Nothing to ever regret when it comes to your children.   You should never regret doing whatever it takes to have your children grow up happy, healthy, intelligent, productive and law abiding.  There is nothing more important than your family, nothing.

She also told me she doesn't love it anymore and hasn't for a while.

I would tell her that you respect her choice to stop archery.  Then immediately follow up with asking her what other interest(s) she would like to do because you are ready and willing to help and support her in that effort.  Otherwise she might think its archery or nothing, like it or leave it.  Then you risk resentment and alienation.

Again, nobody is coming to take your guns.

Governor Cuomo's SAFE Act was designed to eventually take away rifles that only look like REAL assault  rifles, and if you do not recertify your pistol permit you will get your pistol permit revoked to enable the police to  confiscate  your handguns.

  12. Apparently the school "GUN FREE ZONE", murder is illegal and using a rifle to commit a crime is also illegal did not work to stop the senseless murders of 17 and many injured innocent, good people.  So how do we eliminate or reduce the possibility of more murdering?  So how about defining solutions?

Do you agree that the distribution, sale and use of illegal drugs is the major root cause of gun violence?  So why not execute or imprison for life at hard labor those who provide dope to drug addicts who are apparently mentally ill since what sane person would take dope into their body?  Why not treat all dope addicts once as mental ill patients and send them for REAL rehabilitation?  Ask countries who have little or no dope problems how they solve the problem.

Do you agree that America needs an overhaul of its mental health system?  Are too many of the mentally ill under medicated, over medicated or left on the street to endanger others?  So do we build more mental institutions to institutionalize those who are a danger to society before they commit crime?

Do you agree that the Americas youth (70% are UNFIT for military service) are being raised by incompetent families and teachers?  So how do you "legislate" or "train" parents?  So how do you fix a welfare system that enables single motherhood with social programs to finance the absence of a father?  So how do you prevent the 70% from being unfit for military service?

Do you agree that bullying (the shooter was reported to have been bullied) is a problem that provokes some into violence or suicide?  So how do you deal with a bully?

Do you agree that GUN FREE ZONES do not deter and may encourage violent sociopaths to commit murder there?  So do we not have GUN FREE ZONES and have trained and capable armed person on those sites  and allow licensed handgun owners on those sites?

No papist I didn’t call you a white suprematist.

Victims. You know the ones who were his targets. He is not a victim.

Papist?   Do you know who you are addressing?

I did not see your response to my questions:  So the "victims" who bullied the shooter have no part in provoking this tragedy?  You approve of bullying others?

It also has occurred to me that if guns were totally removed,

That is the pipe dream of the gun control advocacy who are unwilling or unable to accept the truth about the root causes of gun violence.

When they tell me about outlawing guns I ask them why has not outlawing illegal drugs worked and in fact has caused many more deaths than firearm homicides.  I then put the icing on the gun control lie by informing them that the majority of firearm violence is caused by the distribution, sale and use of illegal drugs.  Either they stay smart and silent or make some ignorant comment.  Either way the truth does not change.

Having the students chant "NO MORE GUNS" is merely more applied indoctrination from anti-gun leftists and politicians.  It's another example of telling kids what to think, rather than teaching them how to think.

I agree,  I wonder if at the memorial service anyone chastised those who bullied the shooter?

My view of public education is they teach children sometimes biased information, but do not help develop their intellects to process facts to determine the truth.

  17. I heard today on a talk show that some students at the memorial event last night were chanting "NO MORE GUNS".  I can only wonder if any of those "NO MORE GUN" students bullied the shooter?

So while they think they have found some justification in blaming a piece of metal and plastic for the tragedy, did any of them provoke it  or try to prevent it?

  18. I have been reading many of the comments on this thread that I started and make the following observations:

The AR is a semi-automatic rifle with a pistol grip, it is NOT an assault rifle.  Having had the opportunity to live with and had “rocked and rolled” with an M16A1, the only comparisons is cosmetic.  So the rational should be ban semi-automatic firearms?

Mental health is a great problem in this country.  Look at how many people are on narcotics to help them get through the day.  Look at how many people are unwilling or unable to care for themselves and depend on social programs.  Look at how many people want marijuana legalized for “recreational” reasons.  Those who distribute and sell narcotics need to be executed or imprisoned for life for preying on the mentally ill to cause their deaths and destruction.  Drug addicts need to be sent to REAL rehabilitation camps with the understanding if they fail then prison is next.

We keep hearing about how more gun control is needed, but do not hear about getting more security at soft targets like schools.  When will the government and school administrators accept the responsibility for protecting children?

They say the murder was bullied.  Compounding that was an absent family support structure.  Sadly bullies are weaklings who are insecure, immature, intellectually deficient, jealous and/or incapable of fitting in so they strike out at others.  It is just not children.  Look at some of the vulgar, sarcastic and stupid remarks made by gun owners on this site when they disagree with someone.

Sadly the gun control media and the supporters continue to advocate for more gun control laws.  So image if a killer takes a pickup truck and while hundreds of students are waiting or boarding busses then goes 50 mph down the side walk the injuries and deaths will make an AR look like child’s play.  Vehicles are all registered and licensed drivers do not have background checks for mental illness or criminal history.

Civilization is a thin veneer with many sociopaths lying below it.  Bruce Lee said "awareness" is important in self defense.  How true that is because we need to do risk assessments for  our safety even in our homes subject to invasion by criminals.  I once read this statement at a gun store."Make love, not war, be prepared for both".  Make sense to me.

Sad and tragic.  Senseless loss of innocent and good people by a violent sociopath.

Soft targets like schools and other “gun free zones” are the choice of cowardly violent sociopaths because they are the only ones who have a firearm.  They are truly evil, but not stupid.  So already the media is asking about the government’s lack of gun control action.  I would like to ask when the government will mandate armed teachers and other staff members who are trained and capable of killing an attacker be allowed in schools.

Sadly the media and gun control advocates will focus on gun restriction and prohibitions as opposed to developing protocols to protect the public from violent sociopaths at soft targets.

Your juvenile and vulgar remarks are so pathetic, but then I don't care.  I do realize where such a stupid remark is coming from.

So you support the "kneelers" who support criminals like Mike Brown and Freddy Grey, both involved in illegal drugs (the major root cause of gun violence), disrespect America, and disrespect veterans?  AND your the one who said" I am not sure if you were dropped on your head a few times as a baby, ate lead paint as a kid, or are the outcome of a prized mule who accidentally got bred with a basic farm ass"?  Who were you really talking about?
