I should add to this reply that I used the 3" magnum Sabot Slug. My slug barrel is rifled. I have not used this gun for deer in several years, since they opened up rifle use in my area. I now only use it for Turkey hunting.

I have had real good patterns with my Benelli SBE-2, with Federal slugs, I do have the rifled slug barrel. That may help.

Does anyone have any information on the 280 Rem. caliber, how does it compare to the 270 Win? Is it to much for a white tail? I have a opportunity to buy a 280 barrel for my T/C for $150.00.

I agree the 336 Marlin is a great weapon, I have one in 30-30 and 444-marlin I use the 444 for bear in Canada.

I used to smoke 2-packs a day until I caught my Son trying to smoke at age 12, I quit cold turkey this was back in 1975. I have not had a smoke since then, and no one in my family smokes. You have to do it one day at a time. Good luck I know you can do it.

Pigmy, I fished Honeyeo lake last Saturday, 1st time I was ever there. We caught a lot of Rock Bass on rubber worms (black). Only caught 1-Sun Fish, and a ton of Large mouth, and Pike. We could have been fishing the wrong area. We fished  along the shore directly across from the launch area.

There was a lot of boat traffic. Had to wait a half hour to put the boat in.

Lots of people fishing.

Does any one know if the Bass have moved into the north end of Cayuga lake yet? I think it is a little early but you never know. This would be the Auburn end of the lake. ;D

I have had about the same service as every one else at the BPS in Auburn. I stopped into the BPS in Memphis, Tenn last year, and was surprised at the super attitude and help that the employees had. Prices was still way to high.

I try to shop local when possible, and support the local sporting good stores.
